Unpopular gaming opinions SECOND IMPACT

Edited for personal perspective.

I hate it when people call themselves gamers when all they play is Rock Band.

And what, exactly, is so great about starting the fuck over? You’re just going to continue anyway, so why not cut the middleman and give you infinite lives?

You guys are grasping onto stupid shit.

You must have loved the continue system in Bioshock.

There we go

When I had to work harder for my win, it felt better to actually win. While I can still enjoy an easy game, when there is little to no chance of actually losing it sometimes doesn’t have the same appeal.

I just started playing Ogre Battle. It’s mindless right now but I LOVE it.

I never saw the appeal in Halo. I guess I was spoiled by Unreal Tournament 2K4 and always feeling the need to do the opposite of what’s popular.

I enjoyed The Bouncer.

JRPGs just don’t do it for me any more.

I barely played Diablo 2 but I am hyped for Diablo 3. I don’t care if it’s slightly bright.

And finally. The big ones:

I loved Killer7. The gameplay was amusing and the story and characters were extremely memorable.

Guitar Hero is so boring. I gave it an honest try but it really wasn’t fulfilling at all. Yes, I did suck at it and I didn’t really want to try to improve. I had a blast with Rock Band, though. We were running on little sleep, though.

It’s a fact that games in general now are moderately easier then they used to be years ago when it was all about side scrollers. Sure many of those games may have been so hard because they were archaically designed but that doesn’t change the fact that it was more of a challenge to beat the average game 10 or 15 years ago then it is now…is that good or bad? I don’t know I’m just pointing it out

Although most next gen games (wii doesn’t count) have multiple difficulty settings so you really can’t say if games were harder or not back then the argument is irrelevant when a game can range from autopilot to holyshiti’mfucked.

And stop with the I hate it when people call themselves gamers when all they play is insert game you don’t like. A gamer is anyon who plays at least one game just because you can’t fathom someone playing a game you don’t like be it one or more doesn’t mean they can’t be classified as having the same hobby as you damn srk elitists.

…

<3 rockband:lovin:

Also it was addressed earlier but why do people buy Grand Theft Auto? No one even TRIES to play the GAME. They just drive around, kill hookers and cops thinking it’s edgey. Payed 50 bucks for something you can find in a Newgrounds flash game…

I actually played some missions and had fun with it.

GTA4 was a damn near flawless game and most people who bought it like myself were probably too busy enjoying the awesome plot as predictable as it may have been at times to care about that shit. It’s funny how everyone always focuses on the killing hookers n cops part of gta series since that is a tiny minuscule element the story is your meat n potatoes, there’s a reason it’s a fucking 10.

:u: Your opinion is almost always wrong. Shut the fuck up already.

A lot of games, even on the harder difficulties, aren’t really that different. Uncharted on Crushing wasn’t really that different from Hard or Normal. Challenge Mode R&C feels almost the same as normal.

DMD on the DMC series is about the only one that really makes a noticeable “holy shit this is frickin’ hard” difference.

in tobias voice excuuuuuuuuuse me!..uhh excuse me…for being open to any game regardless of genre or generation.

cod4 on veteran was rape x_X.

Shinobi and Nightshade were both pretty fucking hard.

Yeah they were I remember like 2 yrs ago everyone replying to me saying how fucking easy it was.

Early on Shinobi’s easy but then there’s a sudden difficulty spike. I got towards the end and just never finished it…

Isn’t Nightshade supposed to be harder?

Nightshade is easier, since the girl has more air mobility with her guard-breaking flying kick (and her sword doesn’t kill her, unlike Akujiki). Plus, Kurohagane is WAY easier as a final boss than Hiruko.

God of War on God mode is hard as fuck. I lost against the first Gorgon like 100 times. Fuck that.

BATTLETOADS!

  • Dragon Quest style Japanese RPGs (they are not really RPGs, by the way) are all terrible games. That kind of RPGs should always be what we know as Strategy RPGs.

  • Final Fantasy Tactics is the only good Final Fantasy. It’s clearly inferior in every aspect (not including graphics and sound of course) to Tactics Ogre though.

  • Valkyrie Profile is, without a doubt, the best Japanese RPG ever made.

  • The Tales of… saga went downhill after Phantasia.

  • Mega Man Legends 1 and 2 are the best Megaman games.

  • Real Bout Fatal Fury 2 is the best Fatal Fury game.

  • Falcoon is a good artist. Very good, even. He just sucks at designing characters.

  • Western RPGs are terrible, IMO.

  • FFT isn’t the only good FF game, but it is the best one. And it’s better than Tactics Ogre.

  • Star Ocean > Valkyrie Profile. That game’s overrated.

So yeah, my opinions are pretty much the exact opposite of yours.
