I love Lunar 2: Eternal Blue. I played it whilst playing through the FF7-9 series and it stood out more than the rest.
I forgot to mention the fact that I think SaGa Frontier is a fantastic game; that game needs more love:tup:

GameFan sucked. Hard. Play Magazine is even worse. Reviews laced with fanboy-bias are no better than the hype reviews coming out of many major game mags/sites. Seriously. I remember GameFan reviews where a game was considered good because it starred a girl instead of a boy. Oh, and donât forget the 100%+ âbeyond perfectionâ ratings given to FF7. Even if you like the game, you canât say itâs beyond perfection.

Whoever made Lunar shouldâve gone with their original plan of making Lunar 2 a true sequel to Lunar 1 (with Alex and company). Alex and the gang vs. Zophar would be teh hotness.

More RPG stories need to be about the main hero and his best friend, instead of the main hero and some girl he meets by chance and falls in love with. For instance, Tales of the Abyss wouldâve been 50 times better if the story focused on Luke and Guy instead of Luke and Tear. Not to dis Tear, mind you.

Old games rereleased should include extra features, including those in other rereleases. Fuck the purists who want ONLY a perfect version of an old game: including the OPTION for extra shit/remixed shit in addition to the original game wonât fuck you up, princess. This includes having Luigi/Wario/Yoshi in the VC Mario 64, the redrawn/different Luigi in the VC Mario World, the Double Dragon Advance shit in XBLA DD, etc.

I played with 3 people and it was still ass. It was the same 4-5 enemies with boring ass background, and you with your weakass pea shooter.
I paid a quarter for this, I would write Microsoft a letter DEMANDING my money back.

Another old school game that I liked was Streets of Rage series. I think if they made another 2d SoR, but just update the graphics and music, it would be another favorite for me.

Huh?! Both BoF4 Ryu (Super Saiyan âascendedâ Ryu was hardcore) and Dragon Quarter Ryu would OWN BoF1 Ryu.
In particularâŚDQ Ryu would own ANYONE in BoF save maybe Fou-Lu (who he would still beat but by a much closer margin). And heâd do it in grand, unfuckwithable get your respect in prison fashionâŚlike say, ramming your fist through someoneâs chest. Oh wait, he actually DOES that, I forgot. Letâs sayâŚown a dragon single-handedlyâŚwait, does that too. How about pulling a sword out of his throat after being stabbed by it and snapping it in haâŚoh, you get the picture.
Oh and for the record Cloud and Tifa arenât together. And youâre totally right about Will and Kara owning.
My thoughts on a few of theseâŚ
FUCKINâ YES on the first. A game focused on a friendship, especially one as truly awesome as the one shared by Luke and Guy would rock. Though, I disagree that the game was about Luke and Tear, Iâd say it was about Luke and Asch myself, especially in the second half.
Hell yes on the second. One of the best things about Ryu in BoF is he has healing capabilities 90% of the time, leaving Nina free to use attack magic.
EFF NO on the third. DQ Ryu is raw, itâs game fucking over if you crossed him. And the part that made it totally awesome was that they finally give Ryu a personality, and itâs NOT some do-gooder nice guy. He was genuinely hardcore, heâd kill you without a second thought if you crossed him or his.
Definitely yes on the fourth, Citan was hacked. Until Fei gets Yamikei that is, cause that move was just plain retarded.
Abso-frickin-lutely on the last point. Will (or Tim if you prefer) and Kara were it as far as Iâm concerned, back when I first played that game I was in awe of the storytelling genius that was SNES JRPGs, and IoG was no exception. I felt like I was on that damn raft hitting fish with a stick, and watching the stars along with those two. My favorite game couple by far, Will flat out defied millions of years of evolution for Kara, that trumps even Feiâs 10,000 year love for Elly. See, this is why you and I get along.
