It’s really sad that SRK and the gaming masses are only aware of TWD, Amnesia, and Portal when there are so many modern adventure games that are just as good if not better. Then again adventure games were only popular in the 90’s, I accept the fact that its a niche genre today and probably always will be.

Oh well as long as GDLK adventure games like Gemini Rue continue to be made I’m happy whether they’re popular or not, it’s just the nerd in me wishes they would get more love, but then again I’m sure lots of people feel that way about whatever it is they love.

Another unpopular opinion: Condemed 1 and 2 are among the best games from this generation, I’m sad they flopped so bad that there will never be another sequel.

Does Asura’s Wraith count as an adventure game? I enjoyed that one.

I could never get into the Point & Click Adventure genre. The gameplay is never enjoyable and the pacing is always way too damn slow. Harvester is the only Point & Click Adventure game I’ve ever enjoyed, because it’s fucked up and the gameplay can be pretty fun. @orochizoolander Google Harvester, it’s “abandonware” now so you can download it for free.

Realistic Sports games=shit. Arcadey ones like NBA Jam=fucking awesome.
Realistic Racing sims=shit. Arcadey ones like Ridge Racer/Midnight Club/Burnout etc=fucking awesome.

You got me there considering I tend to not look for Point and click games and only if I come across them or hear enough good things about them I check them out.

Agree with you on the condemned games. Condemned 2 online was the greatest times I’ve had online this Console Generation.

Dude you didn’t like Shadowgate? C’mon, that was tight! I agree with you about the sports games, but the Gran Turismo series cannot be fucked with.

I feel like I’m driving a tank when playing the Gran Turismo series. That shit is not fun.

I don’t like Persona 4 at all. I don’t like how easy it is, I don’t like the characters, I don’t like the music, I don’t like the story, I don’t like P4A, and I don’t like the fanbase. P3 FES was so much better imo even though the AI partners were stupid sometimes and The Answer was terrible.

Stop using the shitty cars then. Or at least tune them up! xD

Virtua Tennis 4 is GDLK. The NHL games on the Genesis ('94 and '95) and Beach Spiker are also good choices.

GT is cool if you like grinding and you’re an auto enthusiast. If not, better off playing emulated Sega arcade racers, if you don’t have the room or money for the cabs.

RR, Midnight Club, Burnout, Rush games are the peasant/ Joe Dirt arcade racers, do choosing between those and GT for racing is just picking “the best” of a bad situation.

Hell no.

Yeah the majority of adventure games re pretty slow, but there’s plenty of fast ones besides Portal. never heard of Harvester before, I’d check it out if my backlog wasn’t full for the next 10 years lol.

This is a site run by and for adventure game enthusiasts, they know what they’re talking about. Go down the page and change the game filter by rating and descending order and you’ll find dozens of GDLK point and click adventure games

@orochizoolander Harvester is fucked up.

Dude’s running around a Freemason lodge with all kinds of weird shit going on. The dialogue, combined with the weird nature of the game and digitized graphics made it age well imo.

Game’s as weird and twisted as it gets, and to me, that’s part of the appeal.

I can play “arcade” racing games with not quite realistic physics, but there HAS to be licensed cars, and stick shift BOTH.

The ONLY exception to licensed cars are the follwing:

Hard Drivin’ /Race Drivin’ because those are OG as fuck. And have full stick/clutch
San Fran Rush - HAS to be arcade cab because stick shift/clutch
Daytona 2 - HAS to be arcade cab.
Midnight Club 2 - Best MC game IMO.

As you can see, throughout my history of gaming, the rule is pretty strict. Only 4 games over the span of 20+ yrs. Manual trans is NO exception. I got rid of PS2 because I waited for Test Drive Unlimited to come out for it, and they deleted the manual option…even though it was in the menu, and the controller had enough buttons. Tried to look online, and when they confirmed it, packed it up for the 360, and that game that day. Traded in TDU PS2 basically brand new. Not interested in those Criterion Need for Speed games because no stick either.

Funny. I feel like I’m driving a vacuum when I play Gran Turismo. Those niggas need to put the microphone next to an actual car, and not a Dyson.

Now my opinions since its been a while:

If you dont like GTA, except 4, you’re a faggot.

If you think Fighting games are the best genre, you’re a faggot.

Mortal Kombat 9’s graphics beats the fuck out of SFIV’s.

Fighting gamers (the fag kind) are jealous that their genre doesnt get the sheer numbers, and sales of CoD, GTA, Madden, ect.

I think its funny that there is more money in games that FGC FGT’s hate, like Smash or DoA than in their precious SFIV an UMVC.

Japan is washed up in gaming.

I agree that P3 > P4 but wont say I hate Persona 4. The story killed it. Scooby doo rpg.

Need for Speed series has more of a quality difference between titles than any other series around not named Final Fantasy.

One NFS game can be fucking amazing, and another complete shit. Same for FF, especially when you include its various spin-offs and modern titles.

I’ll do you one better, even with the SAME NAME one is great, the other is shit…

The Saboteur is the most underrated open world game of all time, and its WW2 era Paris setting is gorgeous.

It was the developers last game, and they went out with a bang. /Salute.

The main detriment to Japanese gaming, is their trying to imitate Western games.

Stop, Japan - leave the poop in the sitting toilets of the West. You cannot make it into applebutter no matter how hard you stir at the proper times.

Real life tennis is more gdlk.
