FFX isn’t simply a bad game. It’s probably the worst game I’ve ever played. Out of all of its characters only one (Auron) isn’t a poorly put together mess. For what it gains by giving you the ability to swap any character in and out of your party during battle it loses by making all places you visit points on a map that you need to input coordinates to visit. The setting is awful, the story is laughable, the characters need to be taken out back and shot, and the voice acting is unbearable. This game is ass. Even its horrible sequel X-2 is better than this steaming pile because it doesn’t take itself nearly as seriously as this piece of shit game.
I’m not going to argue that the PSN lacks a lot of features that XBL does. I know that. I’m just saying that when it comes to just playing the games online, you don’t necessarily need to pay $50/yr just to have stable connections and fun games. BlazBlue doesn’t instantly become a terrible lagfest when you’re playing it on PSN, and KOF12’s netcode doesn’t fix itself just because you’re paying to play it online on your 360.
anyone can make a FF character, their pretty much copy-paste anime characters, with some oh no my boy friend died, or my girl friend died boo hoo
As for people liking only Wrpgs, good for you, they really lack some story and characters just lack everything. Talk about bland characters with no story or plot or anything. I’d rather play Dragon Quest games any day of the week.
LoL Jecht was ass. The only thing Jecht did right was not love his son.
Also final Fantasy has NEVER been able to top FF6 and it will NEVER be able to. That game was a masterpiece that, I honestly believe, no RPG of any kind has yet to top. FF9 may be my favorite FF but I’d be an idiot to say that there was a single FF better than FF6. FF7 was good for the first real 3d RPG on the play station and it was an expansive and interesting universe with a great leveling, battle, and materia system. Most of the characters were fairly interesting and the game kept a really good pace. But if you think FF7 was better than FF6 you’re brain damaged.
I’m paying because I like paying for quality, not because I need to. 50$ a year is a fairly inexpensive subscription, not to mention the various deals that make it even cheaper. It takes money to support this system in some form. Why do people feel entitled to a service like this? Gamers are the only consumers of all the entertainment mediums who have this unwarranted sense of entitlement, like just because they bought a console and some games everything afterward should be free. Not saying you have this mindset, but it certainly correlates with the idea that you believe an online gaming subscription should be free.
This is pretty whack, considering the PS2 can play PS1 and PS2 games which makes PS2 the best console to hit the market. There are lots of good ps1 and ps2 games, so why limit yourself with only ps1 games when you can have the best of both?
FF6 is the over rated Final fantasy in my opinion. Games boring as hell and Kefka’s the lamest badguy on earth. The only good thing about 6 is the Figaro brothers.
there were to some extent some kill streak rewards, it was extra adrenaline, which added up to extra special boosters you could use. it would be interesting if they did add something more, but it would have to be done right.
But when you have better versions of the games, even if they are released later, why even use the old version in this day and age? Strictly console games though as the arcade versions of FGs tend to outperform the home versions in most cases.
Cuz not everything on the DC is available elsewhere. There’s also something to be said for playing a game on it’s original platform. Nestalgia and ish. Sonic is still the most fun on the Genesis. Dunno why but it is.
At times it feels like some had forgotten those games because I asked my ex-boss (got moved to a different store) who’s a big wrestling fan if he ever played any of the ‘golden age’ wrestling games and he didn’t even know what I was talking about even when I named them off. I wanted to shed a tear for him missing those.
