LOL, that works too.
Sorry for the inactivity, but I’m taking all 3 of my midterms this week and I’m just starting to mod my SFAC x…x I’ll be on campus this weekend, so throw me a PM if you’re free.
ninja edit: Got my hands on MvC2 for PS2 (!!) and a memory card with all unlocks, so if anyone wants to scrub out I’m up for that too.
Spicy what floor you live on? I just moved into terry
You guys even stop by the hub yet? DO IT. We don’t bite.
FUCK THE HUB. Jesus.
Wow, now thats what I call some unwarrented hostility. What do you have against the HUB? Good competition and 25 cents isn’t bad. Also food upstairs.
Whoa there buddy, that is a quick way to get kicked in yo chest. All jokes aside, the HUB is a great way to learn some marvel, you know, Seattle’s main game. I guess if you are more interested in playing arcade games on shitty emulators and with scrubs on Kailera then I will not stop you. I just want people who are interested fighters to get the chance to enjoy some competition in a real arcade setting and meet some cool people in the process.
I’m going to start the UW Marvel Club next week on Wednesday. The problem is that “UW Marvel Club” goes against the rules of club names.
So I need some help naming the club. It doesn’t even have to be Marvel club, since we also play other fighting games.
Here are the rules from the RSO handbook-
*Naming Your Organization: As registered student organizations are not part of the University of Washington, organizations may not use the University of Washington at the beginning of their organization name or “…of the University of Washington” at the end of their organization name. You may use “at the University of Washington” or “UW Chapter” at the end of your organization’s name if your organization is affiliated with a national or regional organization.
Correct examples are: Sailing Club at the University of Washington; Chess Club, University of Washington Chapter.
Incorrect examples are: University of Washington Debate Society; Commuter Students of the University of Washington.
You may not use the term “University of Washington” at the beginning of your organization’s name or “of the University of Washington,” in your organization’s advertising or other materials. *
Any ideas? I am hoping this club will still go for another year after I am gone, so it has to have a decent name.
We should be all fighting game encompassing (although Marvel is the only game that matters to me). Therefore, I suggest the following:
Fighting Video Game Club
I-Get-Beasted-by-Dan-at-the-HUB Club
Fighting Game Community at UW
MvC2 and Lesser Fighting Games Group
I-Swear-I-Did-an-Air-Dash-When-Are-They-Going-to-Fix-the-HUB-Controls Happy Club
Marvel Student Association at UW (MSA@UW, although I think Mexicans already took that)
There are plenty more if you further need assistance.
Those are all some epic suggestions!
I like Fighting Game Community at UW a lot. I am working on the constitution right now. It is not going to be anything more than it really has to be. Clubs have to renew each year, and if the person in charge next year (if there is one)wants to change it and make it more elaborate, than that is up to them.
Hopefully there will be more than 15 people that join. _ And im trying to be optimistic.
Try harder. It still sounds pessimistic.
Actually, 15 is an awesome number for most any club.
And in truth, I don’t care how many people join. We all play everyday in the HUB anyway.
Right stick is sort of broken. I notice it because my sonic booms are less consistent.
i’m looking for curly haired korean girls any up there? haha
We should be known as the Guard Break Fight Club.
**Here’s the constitution for the Fighting Game Community at the UW
I followed a template that they provided and only changed or added parts that applied to us. Let me know what you think. I don’t want to make it to elaborate or crazy.**

Section 2 Any meeting held were amendments to the constitution are to be voted on will be made known to the membership at least two weeks in advance of the meeting date.
Looks good to me Brent.
So, what do people think of the name I came up with? I think its tight. The Guard Break Fight Club sounds HELLA hardbody.
I will be going in tommorow to the HUB to attend the club orientation. They only give it every two weeks and I am not waiting another two weeks. It is at 2:30 in the RSO office on the second floor of the HUB. I am missing class to go and Vaun may be able to go for about an hour. If anyone else wants to go and learn about what we actually have to do to be a club that would be awesome, although only 1 person is required.
I also need at least 5 members and 4 officers. I am taking president just so that I can conduct business with the school without anyone asking to go over my head, Dan has Vice President, so there is just Treasurer and PR officer left. I think I will just go to the HUB at 12 tommorow and collect some signatures and Student #s. You interested in an officer position Pablo?
Yeah, put me down for Secretary of Defense so that the terrorists don’t win. Wait, that spot is not available for some reason. Put me down for treasurer because I have the ability to get that gwop, stack that paper, make that cheddah, and get scrilla all at once.
I will be at the hub tomorrow so I will get at you hardbody in person.
What about Executive Vice President? If you guys are really looking for business school resume builders, you should get some great titles. “Minister of Technical Development”, etc.
