Yay! Summer school is finally over! Anyone want to teach me how to play SC2? No one plays Marvel at UW anymore and Tekken 5 is too hard.

in regards to my last post and the responses to it, i just feel that a lot of people on this board like to bash the HUB and talk about how its filled with scrubs and such. But it is a great arcade to play out, especially since most people going to UW dont really have much time to play arcades outside of school, and having an arcade right in the middle of campus makes it a great way to have friendly games and make new friends. sure not everyone there aspires to be competitive, and guys will flee when they get badly OCVed, but theres enough decent players there so that everyone can have a good time.
and thats the bottom line. you can go there and relieve stress after a hard day of classes, and especially now, with southcenter gone and lanwerx gone and all the arcades gone, it sure beats driving to woodinville just to have some fun. maybe you can’t go there to become tournament level player, but having an arcade on campus with lots of interested players has been a great benefit to me and many other people as well.

My brief run of Marvel shit is over. Pretty much like I figured, “getting better” meant picking characters I never had any interest in. I’d sooner Dance Dance Revolution than learn AHVB x 3 shit just to get a boring win
But ya see, that’s where you’re wrong =P Because AHVB x 3 doesn’t = win. Eventhough I don’t really lose at the hub, there are waaaaaaaaay better players than me in Seattle.
yeah, AHVB x 3 is not win. One of them is all you need, and is all I can ever consistently pull off. HYPER VIPER BEAM!!! YEAH
dude you can just go play on the low tier machine man, you’ll have a lot more fun there i think. shoot i’ll play you with team shoto or something.
anyway most low tiers are boring anyway. the top tier is where its at cause they’re exciting (with the exception of cable vs cable and runaway storm). i mean sentinel is just awesome to play. i’d play magneto too but i cant air dash worth anything.
with the top tier you get vastly increased mobility, damage, rushdown, lockdown, tactics and strats.
People diss on the HUB 'cause, quite frankly, it’s just not a very good arcade. If you play Marvel I guess it’s of some value, but I don’t. Plus the crowd there gets smaller each quarter. We used to have a lot of people playing Tekken 5, but that went to shit after the machine kept breaking.
Which is really the HUB’s main problem: maintenance. They don’t have the means of fixing any broken sticks or buttons, and the guy who does can’t show up just whenever. That’d be alright if the controls weren’t getting broken ALL THE TIME, due in part to people who just mash on the machines for hours at a time.
yeah the controls suck but thats good for scrubs who cant do combos since it evens up the playing field against people who know how to triangle jump
i wonder if they’ve gotten any new games since this summer? i remember being VERY pumped up about target terror, maybe theyll get target terror 2? Thatd be sweet

Target Terror Gold worked for like a week and then it broke. And instead of fixing it they put a sign on it saying “THIS GAME IS OUT OF ORDER YOU STUPID FUCKS”
