well, who’s hosting/organizing this tournament? everyone is talking, but so far it seems that there is no one who’s taken the responsibility to do so.

** Ok so, first I need to see which schools would like to be in this inter-school tournament. Then I’d like for us to decide which games will be played. I was thinking, CVS2, 3s, SF4, and MVC2. Also I was thinking that if we are going to call it a University Battle, then we should have University students. But we could just make it an arcade tournament. The number of teammates should be either five or six individuals. With that in mind, the teammates should be capable of playing the choosen games. The date should be a couple weeks before the finals. But we have time to decide upon all of the details. **

im down to play 3s and SF4 for SF state.
alumni and locals should be allowed, but current students (mostly younger new players), should also definitely get the chance to play in this if they are interested.
it would probably be simplest if each school took it upon themselves to determine their own lineup for each game however they want, since the demographics at each university’s arcade varies quite a bit. the old “one alumni/one regular” rule implemented now would probably lead to some weird teams since so many people are alumni now.

So as for the games, we’ll have 3rd Strike, CVS2, SF4, and I’m thinking MVC2 as well.

Wow…I always wanted to rep a school in the old University Battles…
But, seeing as how I’ve never been enrolled in UCB, SFSU, SJSU, or UCD…
Should I try to get a De Anza crew together? Or like, community college reps…which would be like me, Charlie…um…I think that’s it.
I’d be down to rep any of the universities…I’ve put in enough time at all of them. The most at SJSU, and pretty equal amongst the other three.

just let the schools decide who goes where and pick out a 5 via concensus. schools can decide to playoff for spots or whatnot.

i’ve been to SJSU, SJCC, & EVC.
and i think the limit on alumni should be more lenient, than regulars,
since an alumni would be someone who actually did took a class at the school,
where as a regular could be almost anyone from anywhere.
