Lol…team UCB baby!!!
I’m down for this
Here’s some real talk; I go to SJSU, and I will destroy mostly everyone in 3s.
:wonder::wgrin:**
. . . Mostly everyone**
yeah ‘mostly’ doesn’t include lb either cause that fool will kick your ass. straight up PSYCHIC
And if you are who I think you’re then it is true you have beaten me many times, however your on borrowed time and your time is up and thats real talk!!!
One other thing I learned to play at the Oaktree in Oakland from there I did go and play at UCB ditching after lunch at Berkeley high so that I could play 3s with the students…I have much respect for these guys and this would be a true/great challange if UCB alum were get into the mix
OK, so–
Can one person from each school please reply to this post with when their finals are, and what their last day of class is? I think it would be best to hold this tournament while all schools are in session so students who go home between semesters can do so freely. (December 6th is the first weekend of the month. How does that tentative date sound to everyone?)
Also, do people really want to compete in GGXX? If so, I think our only choice for venue will be SJSU b/c I don’t think Keystone or SFSU will have GGXX.
And for Team Berkeley:
Vincent and Louie are still in school. insomnotek, I’m afraid I don’t remember who you are! I also know there was someone from Berkeley who wanted a ride to SJSU for a tournament. If you’re reading this, post up about yourself and let us know what games you play.
University Battle 2008 Ultimate Match!
set it up for next year in february or something. SJSU ftw!
I’d like to submit KS2 School of Hard Knocks.

So what’s the final word on requirements to play for a school? Current students only or alumni allowed? Or just anybody allowed.
I propose current students/alumni/the few school arcade regulars (such as myself)
I think the past formula worked well for University Battles. Each team gets the option for one alumni and one regular. Does anybody have objections? Obviously, there’s no concrete way to prove that such and such is a regular, so we’ll go by reputation/honor system on that one.
I’m assuming you’ll be representing SJSU again, John?
Edit: I’m actually not sure what would be best for a University Battle now. Do we really need a limit on alumni?
Also, SFSU is highly likely to get T6. I assume this goes for SJSU too. So it might be possible to run T6 for UB2k8UM if people are interested.
Student/alum
locals are fine with me.
Students, alum, regulars. So pretty much just open to all it seems. Not really a University battle per say but an arcade battle. It’s just that the only arcades left are in schools now.
I’m not committing to representing anything since I don’t know date/time/format of the event. Once that’s finalized I can make a decision.
im still a nobody who transferred to cal last year. ive met some alums like pat, tae and lb. played at the last norcal regional. fat korean dude with long hair.
i play it all except mvc. my best game is probably tekken, followed by st, cvs, 3s.
Yes please, I want to play too.
That wasn’t my vote towards how the event should be run, it was a just a question based on the responses so far. If it was limited to students only then it would be a true university battle. As it seems to stand now with anyone allowed, it’s just an arcade battle.
Anyway, whoever is in charge of the event can finalize the rules for the people.
Choi is right. As much as alumni are welcome to the school’s arcades, it’s opening too many doors with team possibilities. I say we should just have current students at the schools.
oh yeah I see now, I read that wrong. I thought it was just students or alumni anyway which is cool, ill show up either way to check it out.
