I’m a freshman at UCB, but I mostly play ST and GG.
so… who’s running this tournament? or will this be a collaborative thing between representatives of each school? so far, there’s been no clear answer for who’s taking this into their hands to organize the event.
so it sounds like people prefer or would like…
-
5 players per team
-
Either played at SFSU or SJSU
-
Community College teams
Before winter break or after? I’d suggest after break in mid january because there are no more finals, people are a bit more free typically.
What if there are more than 5 people who want to join in a school? what would be the solution to that?
1 team per game or per school?
. . . I am the guilty party. :woot:
**I don’t really mind the number of Alums, since there is only one John Choi. **(by the way, that wasn’t some sort of subtle Fan-Boy praise.) I just think it, would start getting really loose if we had too many “regulars” take part. Shit, then I could qualify for 3 of the teams. I’d prefer to have a higher proportion of actual students and alums, and to have a few “regulars” included.
I’d like to think of this tournament like the olympics. You need to be citizen of the country you represent. I’d don’t mind a few “regulars” I just don’t want to see them make up most of a team.
Totally different.
Bitch, you can still be on the De-Anza team. Cause, even with the number limitation. There would be James a.k.a “Jimmy”, Eric, Me a.k.a “The Black”, Will, you and maybe Mike Ponce.
yo rob, u gonna be in our team?
Ok i got it!!!
**Ok so I have decided on 90% of everything. :lovin::woot:
So we will have 4-man teams per game.
It will cost $15/person, so $60/team. So stack that cheeze~:wgrin:
— So a one school can have six 4-man teams.
Players can play more than one game.
Of course they’d pay for each game they play.
The University Battle shall be held on the 1st saturday of the New Year.
Saturday, January 3rd 2009, @ 2:30
I have yet to have choosen a campus at which to hold it at.
Most likely it’ll take place at either SJSU or SFSU.
The games played will be:
CVS2
3rd Strike
MVC2
GGAC
SF4
and if they have it by then Tekken 6.:wonder:
I also want to get some sort of sponsoring. At the least I’d like to get some T-shirts and mayyybbbbe some free grub… So if anyone can help me out with that, or just point me in the right direction. I’d be most thankful.
Also since there will be a lot of duties that will need to be delegated. I’ll need some helpers/lackeys to assist with the tournament running. :wgrin:
Any willing and able volunteers out there?**
No way dude you are on team DVC.
For sfsu I can compete in all games. I would say specifically cvs2 sfiv and ggac, though I am competent in mahvel and 3s(kinda)(I will play sean)(and throw basketballs)
I’m down for AC for SFSU, 3S too if anyone needs a body for their team. My defenses are impregnable and my style in impetuous.
I’m just ferocious
I want your heart
I’ll eat your babies
Praise be to Allah!
the main question is where are we eating after?
why $15?
too expensive.
plus, i’m not going to a tournament where black rob is handling the money.
find a nerdy asian or bust.
Such a trooper!!!:wgrin: Someone is down to STACK THAT CHEEZE~:wgrin:
This guy is soo Hard Punch!
Why soo CHEAP!??:shake: j/k
Ok hows about $10?
BorRrRrRinnnNggGGGggg
stickied for great black power
Umm, why don’t we do an arcade battle instead excluding ks? That sounds more fun.
I’d rep san jose golfland. I’m not even kidding.
Who wants to be on team UCSC? Is it only me? I know kinetix went there and Alex could be honorary.
I think an arcade battle sounds more intriguing, you can get more people involved. University arcades vs Golfland arcades vs newpark mall arcade etc.
I forgot to mention… if it’s gonna be teams of 4, how is the tournament format going to be like? Double elimination? Single Elim? Round robin? WTF YO!?
If people came here and said they were repping a non uni-based arcade, but still had the money to throwdown for entry, I doubt we’d turn them away.
solano comm college gogogo!?
