This is how my screen is appearing when I try to upload an image. I’ve tried several fixes - changing from .png to .jpg, resize (over, exactly and under 200x200) - to no avail. Browser is Chrome.
Am I doing something wrong?

I’m having the same problem as well. Someone please help!!
Interesting, I was just messing with this and I saw this thread pop up on the newly updated. I can’t change my avatar either.
Same problem here!
yea what gives
same here i resized my pic like 30 times and used IE and chrome to upload it im getting the exact same thing
Unless I’m mistaken, you had a different av before. How did you change yours?
I had to use that goddamn gravatar thing. When this is fixed, I’ll go back to using SRK’s default.
Yep, same here. Cannot use nor upload an avatar.
had to do gravatar as well
<-------------------------------------- also using a gravatar because i cant change images
good, thought i had a virus or something LOL
fix please
after some testing it seems that gravatar only works once as well, whatever is uploaded in your SRK Default or Gravatar is what the system is going to continously use. I think it’s a bug or something.
edit - oh wait nvm there are no limitations for gravatar atm
using gravatar for now o_O
You gotta use Gravatar in order to upload avatars…
Having to use an obligatory 3rd party application to upload a picture seems strange, especially considering there’s an option to simply upload your own directly.
Mods / site managers, any possible fix for this issue?
I tried deleting my old avatar and uploading a new one. My old avatar came back somehow.
But yeah, Gravatar seems to work.
bring back the “use avatar from url” option. why was that even removed?
Well, at least we know why SRK suggests using 200 x 200 pixels images now. If you upload an image smaller than 200 x 200, Gravatar will upscale it to those dimensions.
And Gravatar doesn’t let you use animated gifs.
