it’d be really nice if you could fight request from training mode.
Now that’s a good idea. Much better than practicing against AI.
I really think there should be another filter that accepts all 3 modes, Player, Ranked, and Championship, when you just don’t give a damn and want a fight. This would help a lot when searching for fights, as long as it doesn’t just pull 3 results. I had a night where I couldn’t get a match from all 3 modes for at least 5 minutes, going through each mode.
It’d be nice to have a spectator mode eventually, that’s one of the features I’m really missing from the ggpo system.
Very good point. Added.
This also would go in the lobby section. Good point though. BlazBlue has spectators, why not SF?
I dunno. When I’m in training mode i want to train, and not be bothered.
If someone could explain multi quoting that would be great. As you can see, I don’t know how to use it.
You hit multiquote on the first post you want to quote. Then you hit quote for the last post you want to quote, while hitting multiquote for all other posts in between the 1st and last.
Ex.
post 1 - multiquote
post 2 - multi
post 3 - multi
post 4 - quote
Thank you!
I’m relatively new to Street Fighter 4 (I did play ST a lot when I was younger) and I have to agree that PSN is extremely frustrating for online play. I’m not the best with execution, but I can pull off moves pretty easily…except when the lag is so bad I end up just punching air. It’s slim pickings when it comes to decent connections.
I have SF4 for both PS3 and XBOX, and I would have to say I experience lag on both consoles, but I find better connections on XBOX. This is not a console bash, just my opinion.
I just don’t understand why people that only have 1/0 bar connections try to play online. You know it’s going to lag. I get so anxious to play, I just hit A, to get right into the match, before I realize they have a shitty connection. I always wonder if that person experiences the same lag as me, since his combos come out. It gets highly frustrating.
I just create a match, or do fight request and wait. It’s a lot easier the searching on quick match.
Also, the netcode for SF4 does need to be adjusted. Player lobbies should have been a no brainer. I think BlazBlue has it set right, as well as HDR. All other fighters should follow.
To the guys asking for lobbys, what’s the system like? Like Tekken DRO where winner stays on? Because I wouldn’t like that at all.
My guess is that you don’t like that system because you can’t win and don’t like waiting 4 - 5 matches before you play again.
And how about the same guy with one red bar that joins your lobby repeatedly?
I had one guy join my lobby 6 times in a matter of 20 SECONDS! Not only can he not take hints, but he is illiterate as well.
This is why there should be an IQ test for the internet.
? k, I can’t win. lol
One of the best things about SF4 online (and anything competetive for that matter) is when you can go back and forth with someone without any intervals. If I lose to a guy when he had about a pixel of health left and just managed to chip me for the win, the first thing I wanna do is fight them again straight away. Waiting 5 mins to do so kills the rush/hype/momentum you had at that point.
I agree with everything this guy said.
Fight Request = Unable to Play
Then lobbies mean nothing to you. Stick to one on one rooms.
Or, Capcom could make a special type of room for you. The room lets the winner stay on and the loser goes to the end of the queue except when the looser wants to play again. When the looser wants to play again they have priority over the people who were patiently waiting. I see your logic.
I have found putting on fight req and going to arcade mode gets you an insane amount of games.
Especially if you do this in champ mode then you wont get past the first or second round of arcade without about 10-20 games being offered. (good connections too)
So I just came up with a new name for something that was bugging me. While playing online, if you are moving back and the opponent focuses it will basically hold you in place, effectively freezing you. So I call this “Focus Freezing”. This is horrible against Akuma. He can basically freeze you when he sees that you are moving back, then execute mix up. Back dashing results in me eating a focus, as well as jumping. Basically all quick options are out.
Also, has anyone gotten green bars with someone and it feels like an orange connection?
Today I punched my desk, my bookcase, my wall out netcode frustration.
