Feminism could had redeemed itself and claimed itself to be a movement for “equal rights”, for both men and women.
It really had that opportunity when Emma Watson walked on stage and gave her speech about how it’s for both her, and just as importantly, myself. But like I have said it before, rather than clinging to some outdated movement that has and continues to label itself as, a movementIS for the BETTERMENT OF WOMEN, what does she do in her speech?

Had there been any honesty in feminism, it would have dropped the feminist label and gone straight for an egalitarian label. Because after all, progressives would have us know that labels are the means to everything. That nonsense even has the guile to advertise itself as, “a movement of solidarity for gender equality”, yet it fails automatically by clinging to a diseased label that has branded itself as a movement for the advancement of women. That said, idc about feminism. It ain’t shit but another hustle to me. If all I had to do was whine and complain about shit to get whatever the fuck I wanted or close to it, i’d do it in a heartbeat. Problem is, folks who are at odds with feminist only complain and get upset with feminism. When all you do is complain about the complainers, you make it seem as tho you have all the power. Ma’fuckaz need to seriously put on the act that they are extremely upset with the opposite of everything feminist care about. Just get loudly annoyin’ as hell about every lil thing to balance out the feminism of today.

What people need to understand is that these sort of things, change the paradigm that people subscribe too. Post Modernism is the new religion, and that is extremely dangerous.
As a further contradiction, it has to claim past progress made under feminist banners to establish credibility while at the same time denying that any progress has been made to establish its need to exist.

Or, rather, I still at least give Raz0r’s hypocritical DID-ass the benefit of doubt here that he’s just playing Devil’s Advocate since him being serious and white knighting worse than Emil would just be sad even with my low expectations. Unfortunately Poe’s Law makes it super difficult to tell.
This is basically just another reason to mostly ignore this farce. While I would rather the U.N. be talking about more important issues (to women), I damn sure wouldn’t expect any more of them regardless of the issue raised.
This site and video explains why feminists don’t refer to themselves as equalists or something similar. It doesn’t actually mean they don’t push or care for equal men’s rights.
The reality is that women ARE marginalized, as she puts it, far moreso than men are. If you were to create an equalist group and almost everything it happened to push for was women, then people would complain anyway that the group claims to be equalist but almost everything it pushes for supports women. The reason that is the case is because women just happen to be discriminated much more than men.
Lastly, you should think about what it means when you say that most everyone would support feminism if it pushed for equal rights of both genders. This just shows that those people are only willing to support the group because it happens to advocate for something that helps them out and shows that they unable to put themselves in the shoes of someone they are not. Why are people so unwilling to support a cause that isn’t about themselves?
It’s a debatable how much more discriminated women are in first world nations. The thing about feminist is that whenever they are asked to present a example of some kind of disadvantage women face it’s either something from centuries ago or a situation in a different country and culture. This is why feminist often decline acdemic debates and desperately try to repress counter-arguments. It’s one thing to support a cause that legitimately wants to help out a marginalized group and another to support a movement that ignores half the population and considers air conditioning a serious example of sexist oppression.

Of course. But there are some male-specific issues that deserve attention (incarceration rate, suicide rate, child custody rights, etc) and these topics are not getting any help from the feminists.
The current setup is even worse than you describe. It’s not just all (or almost all) of the attention being heaped upon female-centric issues by default. You literally cannot even bring up a male-centric issue. In some cases you can’t even get in the door.
You completely missed the point. It’s not about getting something from the movement, it’s about agreeing with the goals of the movement. Simply put, people will support initiatives aimed at equality and oppose or ignore those that are not.
Look at the gay people of the west. They wanted marriage and they got it because many other people, including straight people, thought about their goals and decided “Those goals make sense to me and I support them”. If people aren’t supporting feminist goals, it’s not because they don’t see something in it for themselves. You might be able to argue that those people have an incorrect understanding of what feminism is fighting for, but you can’t claim that their reasons are coming from a place of selfishness.
