UMVC3 Zero changes UPDATED DECEMBER PATCH

I think there was only the red and the black one.

How lame. I’ve been dying to see all six. even If 4 of them are old hah.

If that reall was buster canceling teleport and not someone doing A Teleport than bustering then I have some really stupid ideas for Zero.

I actually haven’t thought about this yet, with air XF Cancels, Zero can probably combo from a Lv.3 sull screen.

Since zero can cancel his specials now into his bust does that mean he can charge his buster faster from a thrown buster

and how does this effect his air zoning with his buster spam in the air he could effectively cancel dashes in to busters to place shots all over the screen

Yeah, the whole X-Factor in air thing is kind of a huge buff for everyone. It’ll let Dante get huge combos after air throws, Sentinel’s Hard Drive more threatening, etc. Being able to X-Factoring Genmu Zero is gonna be huge, because now you can punish something full screen, X-Factor early enough to make it completely safe and combo after and still get the damage boost for the Genmu Zero itself.

OMG. Genmu Zero->XFC->j.214M->lvl3 charge shot cancel->j.214 L->stuff. I so want this to work

I wonder if we’ll be able to make a universal Genmu Zero starter combo (as in, works anywhere between point blank and full screen, with or without corner).

We’re Zero players, we probably have the most imagination I’ve seen. I love being a Zero player

You forget that you can’t keep a charge during X-Factor activation. You have to let go of your charge to activate it.

More likely a combo after would just be a Hienkyaku L back to the ground, or just air dash forward if you’re close enough. Or Raikousen M if you’re far away. Depends, but you can’t charge shot cancel that early.

Yeah I forgot about that. Sucks.

M lightning dash is an interesting idea though. I don’t think it’ll work full screen though. With how fast Genmu Zero travels and how far it knocks them I don’t think air dash would be fast enough to catch them (it does cause hard knockdown though so that’s worth exploring).

Assists will likely make comboing after Genmu Zero a lot easier though. Genmu Zero->XFC->call good duration beam assist (or strider teleport kick/sword slash could work)->dash up and combo. Or Genmu Zero->XFC->j.214M->call assist->j.236H->combo. This kind of stuff could make throwing supers at Zero a lot more scary actually.

I wanna see how air X-factor affects his other moves too. Like at what point of a lightning dash can you X-factor and still have the lightning come out (if any)? And if you X-factor a lightning dash, can you do other air actions again? Same question for X-factoring out of a command dash (can you command dash again?)

No… you CAN maintain buster charge during XFC … If you are charing with L then you need to switch to M and press LMHS together while switching … you can cancel into XF while maintaining charge…

Its pretty hard too, Switching like that takes Immense skill in switching buttons for buster charges, If that wasn’t annoying enough though haha (the things i do for zero…) I’m going to adore the ability to XFC Mid-air, So many times I wish I could just X Factor to abuse Zero’s Air Buster. a lvl3 XFC to a lvl3 Buster could almost Half HP in UMVC3.

what we can do is genmu zero> x factor>charge L> sogenmu> release buster> j.214> maybe j.m or j.236 into some sogenmu combo

edit: we can probably even do that right now with regular mvc3

Haha and this where being a pad player finally shows it’s benefits

What ever changes Zero may have! I and I’m sure, a lot of you, will make it work!!! :nunchuck:

Zero gets quite a bit of showtime in the latest UMVC3 Live stream. The player uses Strider as well.Think it starts from around the 10 minute mark.

Wish he’d show us Zero’s new alts though. :frowning:

Thanks for that, too bad it was mediocre play from the dude using Zero, but at least it was something! One good thing I managed to snag from that video was Zero’s new badass winpose, heaps better than MvC3.

So I had some time this weekend to play with Zero at PAX. Not sure if this stuff has been posted yet but I’ll go ahead and list what I noticed. He seemed to have minimal changes but this is what I saw.

-Charged Buster does soft knockdown now (obviously they told us this)
-Buster charges faster. From what I noticed I was able to charge up his buster to full much quicker than usual, I’m wondering if they tinkered with his charge time.
-Able to interrupt Hienkyaku (teleport) with special moves (again they told us this). Any special move in the air can be done and it saved me quite often while I was screwing around with him.
-His Sentsuizan (air QCF H) goes MUCH farther forward and faster than before. In Vanilla MvC3 both M and H versions would go the same horizontal distance for the most part. Not the case anymore. His M still goes the same but H will now throw Zero half screen or more if done at one corner of the screen. And its faster by a lot. It also can do some really ambiguous crossups too since its so fast and goes so far now. However due to all dive kicks seemingly being nerfed it requires a bit more tight timing to continue a combo after successfully hitting them with the Sentsuizan H.

That’s all I really noticed sofar, hes still incredibly solid and powerful. His combos still work well with the buster even if its a soft knockdown. Difference is no free mixups after randomly hitting someone with a fully charged shot.

Thanks for that.

Haven’t you tried to cancel special moves with buster (we already know Zero can do it from what the producers told in their conferences)?

I want to know what happens if you jump, M lightdash, release buster…
Ok, Zero stops lightdash and shots buster… but does the lightning bolt still goes off? or it is completely canceled and you’ll just stop moving and fire your buster?

I’m thinking… how mad would this be?
charge buster, jump, M Lightdash, cancel right away, Buster, L Lightdash… you’d have 3 big, fast, high damaging and infinite stun soft knockdown projectiles in somewhat different angles in the screen at the same time…

Zero canceling special moves into lv3 buster can be the most absurd buff anyone will get in UMvC3 if it does everything it seems to do…

From what I tried you can’t interrupt all specials with buster. The change is that you can interrupt his regular dash not his lightning dash. So you can do Air M dash and immediately go into lightning dash.
