UMvC3 version 2013: The feedback thread

hey dudes Combofiend told me in so many words that the rumor of a patch is entirely due to a mistranslation and there is definitely 100% no patch coming. Not now, not soon, not ever.

Uh… Marvel. A part from Spiderman (and I think X-Men), none of Marvel’s characters are licensed out exclusively to anyone.

To be fair, Combo was in Canada and the chances of a patch have always been slim.

And of course Capcom has always been straight up with us about everything. AmIright? AmIright?

haha ultimately, i think the purpose of this thread was to continue to let capcom know that support for this game still exists, and that the marvel series hasn’t fallen to the wayside in terms of its popularity or demand (it’s not like marvel is equivalent to shaq fu or tattoo assassins or something haha). not to mention, with all the marvel media and other marvel projects coming in the next few years and beyond, in addition to next gen, now would be a good time to have something in the works. tbqh, i don’t think anyone genuinely expected a patch…but just in case there was, they’d have the community’s input on what they thought needed improving on. feedback, whether it’s utilized or not, is nonetheless still a good thing to have.

Let me record matches and upload them online.

Ability to see hitboxes. Ability to purchase endings and gallery through points I earn in player matches, online matches. Ability to name and record online rooms. Ability to play higher ranked players and upon beating them gain more xp.

TACS: Infinites should be removed.

Shuma:

Needs a faster air dash. Remove stupid poses from supers.

Jill:

needs a fast dive kick or invincible aerial teleports. remove qcf+attack in air, horrible move. horizontal aerial attack move, air dash.

Morrigan:

Fix the hit boxes on her j.s. It has a lot of priority and makes her hit box really small, also, change the properties on the move. Fix her hurt box for crouching weak attack. Nerf her health down by 50k or nerf damage on fireballs by 1/4. Dark harmonizer also needs to increase the time she is vulnerable as an assist.

Zero:

Nerf health 50k and make weak attack lightning raikousen bounce the opponent out/air recover after it hits. Preventing that ridiculous corner cross up and getting rid of lightning loops unless he uses an assist.

Vergil:

Make Spiral Swords a level two super. decrease speed boost for xfc. Nerf health 50k.

Dorm, Wolv,:

Nerf health by 50k.

MODOK:

Ability to chicken guard. crouching medium puddle stays active longer. slightly more range for puddle.

Hulk:

His forward jumping range and jumping speed need to be reduced. gamma crush invincibility removed after initial start up. Longest invincible move in the freaking game!

Nova:

Priority, hurt box on j. h needs to be toned down.

Sent:

Increase Health to 1 million.

Ghost Rider:

Give him an attack move to change his aerial trajectory or a wire zip move. better ground dash. make dp + h into an assist instead of qcb+ weak attack.

Tron:

Make her like vanilla. Except allowing more time for her to be hit after gustaff fire assist. Make her taunt o. something. Less invincibility duration. Nerf Health by 100k to compensate for having that assist.

Spidey:

Fix ground medium. Kick goes over crouching characters. This is unacceptable. standing h given more hit stun. as an assist web ball should trap the opponents longer.

She-Hulk:

Restore her to vanilla form. Slash 50 k from health.

Firebrand:

Increase damage by 40k on all fireball attacks and otg. Kidnap does not scale in combos.

Arthur:

Increase damage on all projectiles by 1/3.

PW:

Increase health by 50 k. Remove meat. Give ground normals slightly more range.

Strider:

Make Ourouboros Projectile rings chip in level three. Increase damage on all moves by 1/5.

Hsien-ko:

Increase damage on all attacks by 1/4. Make her Air Dash quicker. give her iads. Fix properties of moves to allow for proper combos.

Storm:

Increase Speed on Vertical Whirlwind special. Not abusable as mvc2 but something reminiscent of that gameplay.

Amaterasu:

H Cold Star does more damage and can be comboed into more easily. Third and Fourth hit from forward Heavy with beads is cancellable. Bloom should not last that long. It should be slower than dark harmonizer but not be 3 times slower. Too vulnerable.

Nemesis:

Increase ground coverage for ground to ground command grab. Rush super given an invincible ATTACK at start up, more abusable.

Spencer:

Fix damage scaling on qcf+h vertical wire grapple.

Chris:

Horizontal aerial shot attacks. Non-cancellable.

Just don’t nerf top tiers, and buff the low tiers. All I want

Rather than take a ‘wishlist’ approach (how I’d like UMvC3 to change), I’ll instead take a “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it…unless it’s really stupid” approach.
Since I am not all-knowing when it comes to UMvC3, this list will not be exhaustive.

That being said:

General changes (these affect the whole cast):

  • removal of TAC infinites
  • increased ability to react to / counter TACs
  • all level 3 hyper combos have invulnerability from their first startup frame through their first active frame (at the very least). (examples: Captain America’s level 3, Nemesis’ level 3)
  • assists that do the exact same thing have the same properties (startup frames, active frames, recovery time, etc). (example: the meter-gain assists of Amaterasu, Frank West, and Morrigan)
  • removal of ‘behind’ hitboxes on some attacks (some attacks can hit an opponent behind them, even though it looks like they shouldn’t). (example: Vergil’s Helm Breaker)
  • removal of all glitches. (example: Round Trip glitch)

Capcom

Hsien Ko: boost her zoning and mobility. A damage boost would help as well.
High Mobility = more invulnerability for her dash. Increased dash speed. (For both air and ground dashes.)
Better Zoning = projectiles have much more durability. Shield (she creates) lasts longer.

Morrigan: no Meter Gain during Astral Vision. Less hitstun on air S.

Nemesis: armor-enabled attacks gain their armor sooner, Biohazard Rush armor starts from the first startup frame.

Vergil: Spiral Swords becomes a level 2 hyper combo. In return, going into a Spiral Swords extension (such as Blistering Swords) doesn’t cost meter.

Wesker: Tiger Uppercut counters always connect if successfully triggered (and if the opponent is within range); this would probably require a huge speed boost (and possibly an increased hitbox) of the attack part of the counter.

Zero: get rid of Lightning Loops. (This could be done by increasing the charging time of buster, altering the properties of that particular attack (Raikousen), doing both, or something else - but something needs done.)

Marvel

Doctor Doom: reduce the time of the hard knockdown caused by a Foot Dive.

Dormammu: reduce the time of the hard knockdown caused by Dormammu’s level 3 hyper combo. (So you can’t Purification xx Chaotic Flame afterwards.)

Magneto: increase recovery of Gravity Squeeze. (So he can’t combo after it.)

Spiderman: increase the priority of the first hit of Maximum Spider.

Wolverine: remove ability to Fatal Claw > Tornado Claw > Fatal Claw. Possible ways to do this include increasing the recovery or startup time of Fatal Claw.
