UMvC3 version 2013: The feedback thread

add replay save for offline versus mode and bring back post-ko attacks.

Doom:
dooms footdive does not cause a hard knockdown. Remove 2-3 missiles for his missiles assist.

Wesker:
give back the invincible frames for weskers counter super. additionally, buff his counters. its pretty bad/useless as of now.

Sentinel:
sentinel needs at least 10.5 million health. air normals should be faster by a frame or two. give him back his hyper armored standing s. fix hard drive dropping issues

Viper:
make it impossible for viper to cancel special moves and ex moves into another ex move. adjust the funky hitbox on her laser. there is no reason why it comes out on back of her head.

Hawkeye: make jumping S special cancellable. make his jumps less floaty.

Zero: shortened sougenmu time and/or nerf his minimum special move scaling. either that or revert him back to vanilla zero with no special cancellable buster.

Iron Fist: needs dive kick and command grab.

Jill: give her back her vanilla hitboxes on her air normals. very slight damage buff.

Morrigan: revert her shell kick back to vanilla status. no meter build during astral vision or cut the duration by 25% while nerfing the durability and damage.

Strider: fix his legion super. that super is random as fuck as of now. fix his minimum damage scaling to at least 5%. vajra assist needs some nerf but not too sure how to implement it without making it useless. also, extend the range his c.h so it doesnt magically miss during strings.

Magneto: no invincibility on his shockwave but give the invincibility on his tempest. also cut the vertical shockwave distance by half. remove the gravity squeeze otg.

Dormammu: less durability on his stalking flare.

Iron Man: needs vanilla air dashes.

x-23: air diving talon attack should ground bounce or cause a hard knockdown.

storm: full screen whirlwinds, much faster double typhoons, let her be able to call assist while floating. air lightning attack x1 will not get her guard broken.

trish: better roundtrip. give her dantes devil trigger thunder beam but make it usable only once in the air. slight damage buff.

arthur: give him a real dash, no armor breaks, but slightly shorten the duration

shuma: needs a huge speed boost, less finicky combos. make it possible to followup after his chaos dimension.

Zero buster charges slower while in Sougenmu.

Tron gets her old jH back, and other buffs. I miss Tron.

Make the online just like SF4 or SFxT with the ability to save replays.
TRY TO FIX THE ONLINE SO IT IS AS GOOD AS TTT2, GGPO, ARCSYS GAMES, etc. <---- At this point, I’ll pay them $5 just for this and this alone.
Fix all of the guaranteed TAC glitches: the air dash one that only certain characters can do, the “Japanese anti-phoenix tech” and whatever else I’m forgetting
Fix that silly Japanese escape glitch.
If they can, fix the TAC infinites.
Give us back all of the Vanilla UIs. All of them. Vanilla lifebars, Vanilla select screen, Vanilla “Vs.” screen. Really the only thing they did better in Ultimate was make the XFactor timer a little easier to see.
More than 6 colors? I realize this will be difficult since they are trying to use actual costumes the Marvel characters have had, but too many of the colors are basically the same, like Wesker having two whites, Vergil having 3 blues, Captain America having 3 blues, Wolverine having 3 yellows, Spider-Man having 3 blacks, etc.

I would come up with balance changes but honestly, I hope they don’t balance anything. SF4 and SFxT have shown us that they’ll listen to the weaker players’ balance suggestions, nerf all the good characters, and just fuck everything up in general.

Remove the knockdown mechanic from Arthur’s gold armor. With it, he’s got an install super that you almost never want to use as it is a ticking time bomb. Getting knocked into underwear and having to armor up again just to get to silver armor is a fine enough penalty.

Remove meter build for Morrigan in Astral Vision. Pretty straight forward.

Remove all standing low normals. Personal complaint, never understood why giving characters who can instant overhead you with flight moves a standing low was a good idea, and just don’t understand why they were needed in the first place.

TAC’s need to have some downside outside of just resetting neutral and ending your combo if they guess right and break it. As it is right now they’re easily the most overwhelming tool in the game in that you have a 66% chance to kill a character meterless and gain full meter out of it, then on their next incoming character have a meaty set-up.

Arthur - Soft Ko on Gold Armor instead of hard

Further distance & point of armor on his F+H lance

Let him aim his shotgun diagonally upwards

Chun Li - Needs to have alotta durability on her fireballs + travel further

She Hulk - give her chainable lights back but they are 1 frame slower

Shuma - teleport to middle of the screen at jump height
Mystic stare eye balls that shoot up like task arrows and rain down depending on L M H

Spencer - 60 k grapples instead

Storm- enough meter gain to build a bar
Less start up on aerial typhoon

Thor - standing ground normals cancelable into backdash on block

Tron- Bandit boulde cancelable with servbot launcher

Trish - Buff chip on her projectiles slightly

Vergil - Get rid of roundtrip glitch

Wesker - buff duration on his projectile counter, remove glasses buff but make sure speed remains standard

X,23 - Bring back start up invincibility on Rage Trigger

Zero - Slightly more damage scaling on lightning loop

First draft of balance suggestions to bring every character up to roughly Magneto-ish levels.

Notes on changes, these are mostly going to be buffs, with only a few nerfs where I feel it gives more characters the opportunity to play. The goal is to prevent characters from having as many aspects that don’t work properly against the cast either because they can never get in or because the situations surrounding it are too dangerous.

System adjustments:
TAC break is universally 15 hits at 3K damage each, however comboing afterward is much easier and more stable, make TAC colors reactable.
X-factor gets divided into 4 different kinds:
Offensive X-factor: This is what you get when you X-factor while hitting an enemy or the enemy is blocking a hit of yours, you receive the current speed and damage and scaling increases that X-factor would give in ultimate.
Defensive X-factor: This is what you get when you X-factor while in block stun, negates chip damage gives life regeneration, and increases meter gain.
Neutral X-factor: This is what you get when you X-factor while in a neutral state, you get the bonus damage, speed, scaling, regen and chip negation.
Panic X-factor: This is what you get when you X-factor while in hit stun. You don’t have any X-factor duration, but you and your opponent are soft knock downed to opposite sides of the screen. Hits full screen very quickly.

+Dramatically increase speed of Jet Stream horizontal movement for better carry on block, increase block stun, and make the window for both Crazy Dance and Fireworks earlier.
-Reduce thunder bolt base damage and number of hits (should function similarly outside of X-factor because of number of hits, but make it less insane in XF)
+Devil Trigger dramatically increases the window for Fireworks and Crazy Dance, allowing all moves that can be canceled into either to cancel earlier and for longer.
+Devil Trigger returns Acid Rain float to vanilla status (can’t be used for meter this way, but becomes way more insane as a tool for setting other things up.)
+Increase Multilock start up, but allow Dante to continue to charge it while he does other things, including block.

+Ask Crispytacoz for better buffs to put her at the desired balance level.

+Replace demon Missile C assist with fully charged demon missile C, Firebrand is vulnerable a long time, however it would be terrifying with proper lock down tools.
+236C in the air has the same recovery as other spitfires, does not guard break.

Uhm, PC version, nerf XFactor, lower the damage, fix TAC infinite, add Gene from Godhand and the Punisher. If not The Punisher, then Venom/Carnage. Not picky.

Dr Strange does not need an 8 way airdash either lol Yall dont realize how absurd he would be… and broken.

I want everyone to be as good as Magneto is in Ultimate roughly, I think that’s what would get Strange to that point. Note I said of the Iron-Man Variety so accelerating as opposed to fast start.

Hey Chrisis I’m fine with all the other changes for Vergil, but dear lord does he really need his dash hit too?

I think the game is fine with Vergil, X-23, and wesker having the best wave dashes.

Multiple arrows in the air paired with kara arrows and a backward quivalent to swing actually does help with that*

Those are all pretty crazy, depending on how it would play test I may give it back. However I’d definitely do that as a start.

I have a terrible feeling that capcom is going to fuck doom up so badly because of all the scrub complaints. I’ll plan his latverian funeral. Missiles dissapearing on hit is WAY too drastic. The best change would be to reduce their accuracy significantly while keeping all properties the same. I like cold-star air-okay, but they need to be careful with buffing ammy since she is a completely solid character. I’m not sure if removing the hard knockdown on footdive is smart but at the least, they should make it so footdive doesn’t cause a hard knockdown after previous hits because this filipino champ footdive hit confirming shit is outrageously dumb and derpy.

Make sentinel more interesting. I hate to be the buzzkill, but marvel 3 sentinel is boring as hell. Nerf his damage in exchange for some REAL tools. He needs his pressure game back from mvc2. This could be done by faster normals and other stuff as well. I would also like to see some more combo options for this character. I love sentinel a lot, but I cannot stomach playing him seriously in this game anymore. It’s not because he is bad, but he’s just boring.

I think in general, it would be smart if we try to reframe from stuff like “add a new ability” or any drastic overhauls like that. It’s best to work on buffing existing tools since it’s more realstic that way.

-bigger hitbox/priority on mystic smash - shouldn’t be able to throw him out of it
-Quicker start-up for devitalization counter, motion change from hcb to qcb
-Air S drops opponent straight down on hit
-Chaos Dimension mashable in the air
-Chaos dimension damage boost

…some better movement option (double jump etc) would be nice too, but fixing air mystic smash would help this

That’s why I picked up Strange, just incase a patch does happen he’ll get buffed cuz he was under the radar just like Vanilla Doom was. Then he will truly be the best…of the best. Just like Doom now.
