UMvC3 version 2013: The feedback thread

Get rid of TAC infinites.
Only 1 TAC per combo.
All TAC directions should function like the up tac. Meaning no losing 1 bar or gaining 1 bar. Its a high damage game. Let people earn their meter
Increase the tech window of TACS.

Who would be fine with those changes?

I think TACs just need to be punishable when they get blown up, that’s the only stupid part of using TAC, there is no penalty (besides missed damage) for the player.

Its so easy to turn a countered TAC into wall bounce with spinning state so all characters can get some damage for blowing up the TAC. Capcom just needs to add the penalty part of the TAC system which has been stupidly absent since Vanilla. =/

Talking about system changes though, what would you guys think of some kind of jump vulnerbility frames? I’m just not sure how stupid this game would be without chicken blocking.

I left out She-Hulk because, I have next to no experience fighting here and I don’t play here (I’m laughably bad at this game sometimes) so me saying things might actually make here worse. The characters I listers, were ones I’ve tried and or played a lot against/with and can see what is either OP or UP about them.

Then Magneto wasn’t mentioned cause IMO, he is fairly balanced with maybe nerfing his assist like they did his on point EM Disrupter.

Deadpool’s teleport malfunction gimmick just needs to be dealt with somehow, it’s a shitty thing to have to endure when playing him.

I think it’s great. We don’t need another teleporter derping it up all over the place, especially one with a teleport as quick as deadpool’s.

Agreed, his teleport is incredibly fast and I don’t think think that should come for free, besides Deadpool shouldn’t be able to zone you out AND mix you up with teleports all day.

I’m not saying that Capcom should remove the malfunction and leave the rest of the teleport as is. Maybe it could occur less often than every three times. Maybe you could remove it but slow down the teleport. Or you could make the H teleport a manual malfunction while slowing it down overall. It just seems like one of those things where the dev team went, “Hey, his teleporter malfunctions in the comics, so let’s just do it in the game!” Kind of like Arthur’s automatic hard knockdown after Gold Armor runs out.

I’m sure that’s exactly why it’s in there, and I kinda like it in there for that reason, too. I do agree that it should malfunction less often, though, but don’t take it out completely. How else are we supposed to get moments like this?

Iron Fist needs only two things IMO
-Chain-able low attack, preferably (and probably) cr.:l:
-Make Rising Fang its own special and leave it Rekka capable. Give it a tad bit of a faster start up time out of Rekkas to be able to catch people trying to fly away from Iron Fist.

Iron Fist is so much fun to play, but goddamn he is near impossible to win with.

Investigation Mode

  • Remove bad evidence all together and give meat a 10% probability flat across all evidence grabs. Make it less of a scramble for turnabout and more of scramble to tool how you want to fight in turnabout (aka scramble for cell phone).

-Increased hitbox on crouching H to make his ground chains more reliable and to give him at least one decent normal. Animation could be him sweeping the ground with a metal detector or something.

Trial Mode

  • Give Bridge to the Turnabout a small amount of super armor on start up. Might be reaching here as he certainly doesn’t lack options in regards to landing this move but it would be nice.

Turnabout Mode
-Either remove the time limit completely or replace the timer with a momentum gauge. Basically like the timer but you would get additional time for landing hits with certain evidence or using Bridge to the Turnabout in a combo.

-Crouching H should hit low.

Some of these ideas are really bad. So here’s my list of bad ideas.

Anywhoo’s.

REVAMP hitboxes.
There is no reason I should be getting TOD’d by Vergil’s coat, by dante’s coat, by Chun-Li’s Spine, Hulk’s Elbows, or any other stupid hitbox. If your opponent whiffs a move, and you land behind them that is supposed to be YOUR punish. The only character I would like to retain a backwards hitbox is Sentinel, because of all of his huge flaws.

REVAMP Throw System
6H is the stupidest OS in the game that makes already good characters godlike. Let’s put a little thought into marvel and just bind throws to two or three buttons so no more stupid OSes.

REVAMP TAC System
I don’t know what the fuck to do with this. This is awful, game-breaking, and stupid. Do away with it or make it something that makes sense and doesn’t revert Phoenix into being godlike.

Nerf Vergil.
Looses Backwards hitboxes with Change #1
Rapid Slash has much more startup, can noticebly see him going for it.
Spiral Swords changed to level 2, while Blistering Swords becomes level 1.
RT GLITCH IS GONE.
RT takes longer to charge.

Nerf Doom
Missles dissappear when hit as an assist, retain their state if missles are used on point.
Can no longer special cancel his Crossover Counter
Footdive does not give you 289045149 years to convert.

Nerf Zero.
What the hell was capcom thinking with you.
Buster takes longer to charge
Minimum Scaling reaches Dante levels
Raikozen subject to HSD
Raikozen either crosses up ALL the time or NONE of the time
Jump State glitch fixed.
Looses Buster Canceling.

Buff Ryu
Hadou mode lasts longer
Hadou mode doesn’t drain HP
Hadou mode’s Hadoken Hyper OTGs.

Buff R.Raccoon
HUGE increase in Hitstun to normals
Traps don’t disappear when hit
Net Trap has a use.
Traps activate sooner.
HUGE increase in Hitboxes of his normals

Phoenix Wright
Maya’s shield is increased to absorb 300K
Phoenix Wright no longer has “bad evidence”, replaced with “useful” evidence that serves a purpose but doesn’t let you reach turnabout. These peices of evidence are extremely strong.
Recieves a proper Low in TB.

Buff Hsien-Ko
Give her mobility. Like wtf capcom.
Cancelable Senpu-bu

Nerf Hulk
I don’t give a damn how, just do it.

Buff Nemesis
Actual useable level 3 make it a 1 framer.
Bio Hazard Assault has unbreakable hyper armor. Still punishableable
Bio Weapon Assault doesn’t whiff anymore, deals more damage
Command grabs have less startup, a bit safer.

BuffShe-Hulk
Give her her original Slide back
Give her a speed increase
Level 1 doesn’t wall bounce, or causes a FORCED wall bounce

Buff Iron-Fist
Rising Fang and Wall of Kun-Lun are useable outside of Rekkas.
s.S launches air opponents
Give him a command grab
Give him a proper high/low outside of rekka.

Buff Ghost Rider
Normals chip
Normals are revamped, made less shitty.

nerf Spencer
Fix that 80K nonsense.

Buff X-23
Normals have extended hitbox
jdh is faster, hits high

Buff Chun-Li/Nerf
TAC revamp, looses Infinites.
Fix Level 3, less shitty, make it air-OK
Can 8 way Dash.

Tron
Give her Jesus. She needs it.

Nerf Magneto
Normals need to tweaked.
Looses blockstun glitch.

Buff Jill
Give her a gun. She has ONE RIGHT AT HER SIDE. Gun is useable in Feral crouch and outside of feral crouch.
FC is two less/three less frames.
Double Jump

Buff Arthur
GIVE HIM A DASH, A GOOD ONE.
Give him good normals.
less Recovery on air projectiles.
Can cancel one projectile into another in the air and on the ground
Golden Armor DOESN’T CAUSE HARD KNOCKDOWN it just disappears and his boxers appear.
Boxers offer a ~15% speed boost. No need to punish him for using meter

Buff Shuma
Give Mystic Smash a godlike hitbox.
Give him a Left/Right teleport (comes in/out thru chaos dimension)

Also, give ryu a roll that feels and inputs like Frank West. Lets makes ryu viable by giving him more mix up options.

On the topic of ryu balance, make denjin mode last longer and make his lvl 3 increase dmg in denjin mode, kinda like vergils lvl 4 but not need denjin to execute

Ryu’s mobiltiy is fine, no need to give him a roll. His j.Tatsu L covers the screen fast enough and his good normals make up for his lack of real mobility. He also has fuzzy guards out the wazoo anyway.

“Let’s make Ryu viable” have you never watched Rayray play or what.

I don’t mean to ride his dick and say Ryu is amazing or whatever but really, he’s 100% viable and actually pretty strong given support from his team. He does have some flaws that hold him back but that doesn’t mean he’s not viable

Dont get me wrong. I love Ryu and I love RayRay. What he does with Ryu is too amazing. But his neutral game almost nil. He has nothing but Hadokens during neutral game and even then those arent great. He needs that roll to help him with mixups, especially in neutral game mix ups. Lets face it, ryus air game aint the best. The fact that he has to go to air to mix up sucks, but if he could stay on the ground he could but much more pressure. Speaking of RayRau, Ryu + Drones would do great. Right now, ryu only benefits from lockdown assists for applying pressure.

As for being 100% viable, I didnt see one Ryu in top 16 at SCR. Or matter of fact, do any damage there. that roll would help tons, and im not the only one who thinks this

Give Ryu and Chun-Li EX moves like Viper. Maybe input+:atk::s:?

You know what would be interesting? If Haggar landed, say, two/three headbutts in a combo, he could get a stun without a counterhit. Dunno if he needs the buff, but it would be cool.

I do not think he is a 100% viable character. Possible to use, yes. But he has too many flaws to be a major threat.

Someone shouildn’t have to point out why that comment is so stupid, because *it’s so stupid. *Shocking I know.

Implying Tournament results have an effect on viability and putting some dumbass Percentage on Viability. Please tell me what seperates a character from being 48% Viable and 52%?
