UMvc3 Trish

I play Trish/Viper/Amaterasu. If I wasn’t such a crap player I’d say this team is straight up bullshit. Also this is probably the only team composition where I think Viper belongs 2nd instead of point, though running Trish with Low Voltage assist means you can swap her and Viper whenever you want and they will both benefit from the other’s assist.

True, it’s crazy how Trish and Viper benefit from each other a lot, albeit the DHC Viper to Trish ain’t that great, the diva duos are cheap.

you can certainly play trish/viper if you want but i don’t think there is any instance where i would want trish’s neutral over viper to start the match(possibly firebrand,morrigan,trish,)
but viper/trish to start the match is so strong and can use low voltage or peekaboo depending on what you want and still be fine

even though i’ve played viper/trish since vanilla i don’t know how reliable the unblockable with the fa is
what do you do, how much damage do you get and how much meter is spent?

a character can die off unblockable FA with Trish/Viper/lockdown assist. Most of the lower health characters (or the ones that matter).

hmm my question should have been more specific;
are you using any meter with viper to kill said chars that are over 900k
and what happens if you do the unblockable and they just let round harvest hit do you still get to kill the over 900k chars
and can’t it be ‘alpha’ countered out of

np wouldn’t mind talking about trish with a player I really respect. For real that shit was super enjoyable watching you play teams.

Also I forgot to mention her double jump is a really important part of her game offensively and defensively. And her short is gdlk too.Trish definitely deserves more respect. Her only two problems are her tri dash is kinda ass, and her hands are fucking huge.

Thought I was the only one thinking her putting her hand down her corset shirt thing wasn’t sexy due to those big ass hands.

Trish’s man hands are actually pretty much hated by all. It’s not a big problem though since you can really only see them if you’ve won.

Thanks man, I feel that I choked alot @ Final round and I Didn’t really get the chance to show off any of my Trish Tech. Was sorta sad about that shrug.

And yea her double Jump is really really good. Though I’m kinda surprised you think her Tri-dash is ass =0. I think its really good (not as good as like Storm or mags) but good enough to open people up. Just my opinion. And those Hands are Hot

Random thought: Trish should get a Glasses buff like wesker…I mean…She does put them on when she wins…So they DO exist <.<

Maybe I just have low standards but her hands really never bothered me tbh, I always strained to see what people were referring to when they complained about her hands.

Her tri dash just isn’t that good imo. But it’s a tri dash none the less so it’s still good. Also if anyone wants to see

First post here - but I’ve been wanting to actually get better with this game and the character that has gotten me back into the game is Trish. I’ve been doing my research on team comps and players that already use Trish. Being in Toronto I’ve seen on stream people such as RDK and Goa, so its nice to know that there is a healthy Trish playerbase around me.

However, to the point - been trying to figure out a team for her. I don’t want to take RDK’s team fully (so Trish/Doom/Wesker).

But here are the options I’ve been looking at.

Trish§/Dormammu(DH)/Wesker(Gun)
Trish§/Storm(WW)/Wesker(Gun).

I feel that the first team has more synergy running unblockables because of how hard Dorm hits, and has amazing reset potentials with Peakaboo/Carpet + Grabs. But, storm’s DHC is so amazing however I fear that her damage output isn’t the best and her lower health makes this team scary.

Another thing I’ve been struggling with is the following combo:

(Air Dash Forward, H, d.H,) s.M, c.M, c.H, S, M, d.H, QCB L, Air Dash Forward, M, H *land, H, S, M, M, H, S, (RDK Special OTG Assist, QCB H, S launch, S, S, QCF LMH)

The start can be replaced with a simple cL, cM, c.H into launcher. I’ve been struggling with the AirDash after hopscotch. I’ve heard some people say you have to delay your scotch after Stiletto kick, but - by how much. I’ve even gotten to the point that I bound L+M to a button on my pad to make the Dash+M come out faster. I can’t get the timing consistently down.

The second thing I’ve been struggling with is the fact that Trish seems to float under or over an enemy in her simple BnB combo midscreen.
cL, cM, cH, S, aM, dH, sL, sM, sH, S, aM, M, H, S. She seems to fly under or over after the second launch. Is this a timing issue I’m simply having or… am I doing something wrong.

Their both great teams. Storm is a harder character to get used to most players though. I can see that it can work out great. With Storm you get great team hyper combos cause Hailstorm OTGs. So you can do your BnB, hard knockdown, team hyper. Test out the damage that way and see how you like it.

Trish/Dormammu I’ve mess with and its fun to play really lame with it. With Trish’s peekaboo assist you can make it annoying for the opponent to try to get in on Dormmamu. Plus you can Round Harvest(force them to block), tag Dormammu, and charge up for free. Since they push block Round Harvest, you’ll be fullscreen for Dorm’s keepaway game.

The first combo has given me tons of trouble, but it’ll be cake once you change one thing.

ground chain, S, j.L-d+H xx hopscotch, airdash/f j.L-H, land, H-S, etc.

By changing the first j.M to a j.L, this combo is 10x easier and can be online consistent. I don’t know why this is, its just the way the hitstun scaling works in this game. Changing the first j.M to a j.L, will also help in the second combo you’re asking about.

You might argue j.M does more damage, but seriously, if you want a super-solid BnB, j.L is the way to go.

Awesome, I’ve been watching streams and notating combos by pure visual. I know that j.M is possible, but the timing must be super strict on it in that case. I’ll try the j.L from now on and see if that makes things easier. How long do you normally delay the xx hopscotch for? It doesn’t seem that it can be delayed much/is it character specific?

Personally Im not a fan of either team because your running dorm/storm without a proper neutral game assist and even if you switch the order and put wesker on the middle, neither of their assists really help him out. Dorm either needs a fast horizontal assist(disruptor/tatsu) or a really slow assist that fills up the screen(drones/hidden missiles), and storm just isn’t good enough to be played with just an otg assist behind her. The reason(imo) why doom/wesker and dante/wesker work is because in the case of the former, while doom/wesker is not a very good combination you can simply get wesker in and you have wesker with one of his best assists in the back. Dante/wesker on the other hand works well because dante’s one of the few characters who can be played relatively effectively without a neutral assist and at the same time if you switch him out and put wesker in the middle, you have wesker with another one of his top assists.

If your hell bent on running the un-blockable then id recommend switching to either trish/wesker/akuma or trish/wesker/magneto(RDK’s original team). You have access to the unblockable, but when trish dies you have wesker coming in backed up by two really good horizontal assists and when he dies you have two really solid anchors coming in with lvl 3 x-factor, but in case you already spent it, can both hold their own without it.

I’m not hellbent on running the un-blockable. I thought it might just be another tool at my disposal. I’d personally rather the team work first and then figure out the unblockable setups. I’d rather it not be a blowout if Trish dies or I don’t get the first hit.

About the team composition, I think you may be right. I don’t have a good neutral assist for Dorm, which makes me cry a little when I’m playing him. I feel that I can’t get in as well as I’d like. I could try Dorm/Trish/Wesker - but not running Peakaboo seems like such a waste. I’ve always loved Storm as a character which is why I’ve tried to learn her and fit her into teams… but you may be right. She needs (to my knowledge) a neutral assist as well to have an easier time getting in. I don’t think I have the execution skills yet to play Swagneto, even though I’d love too. Maybe once I get a little better I can pick up Mags.

The Trish/Dante/Wesker team seems plausible. I’m worried a little bit about my Dante skills, but I could put a lot of practice into that. I’d assume that Jam Session would be the go to assist. I was also maybe contemplating Trish/Wesker/Vergil (with Rapid Slash)… but I’m not entirely sure that works. I may also try Ammy (who is by far my best character) and go T/W/A with Cold Star.

Well if your a fan of storm, you could run trish/storm/akuma, I think thats a good storm team but you lose the un-blockable. Dorm/trish/wesker could work, but I don’t know how well dorm works with peekabo. If your running the trish/dante/wesker team you’ll want weasel shot, it works really well with both trish and wesker, but you’ll need to put in a lot of practice into dante, he takes a lil bit of execution and you gotta get the bold cancels down, you can’t play him without them. That team is really good though, can be played in literally any order, covers all the bases, and Im pretty sure doesn’t have a single bad match-up. Plus there are already two players who run that team(greenace and jago) so you won’t lack footage of the team to practice with.

T/W/A should work as well, once again you lose the un-blockable since ammy’s damage makes it not worthwhile plus if your opponent chooses to just get hit by the round trip I doubt she can combo off it, and even if she could it would be so scaled at that point it wouldn’t even be worth it. But I think it’ll still be a solid team, although I don’t know how wesker/ammy synergize.

Thanks Jak, here’s hoping that I can put the hard lab time in and see what I can come up with. I’ll take a look at Jago and Greenace matches and study! I’m watching Dante guides now. What do you think about the Trish/Wesker/Vergil team? I’ve heard a lot of good things recently about Vergil as an unstoppable XF3 anchor. It seems that both Trish and Wesker would benefit from Rapid Slash for mixups. But, for now I’ll look into the Trish/Dante/Wesker.

Hell, maybe if I can get better it I’ll visit the Toronto scene… but there’s a lot of work to do before that. Canada does love Trish though.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Trish/Ammy but it’s what I play and I think it’s excellent. Everyone knows Cold Star is an excellent assist and Trish can really use it to open people up since her overheads can be comboed into a dive kick with Cold Star. Green Ace uses Dante weasel shot for Trish and it fills practically the same application as Cold Star. Also if you want that unblockable (you already said it’s not a big deal, but whatever) you can throw Viper in the middle. Between Trish and Viper you should be able to kill most if not all of the cast no matter what they choose to do on wakeup.

although i agree having storm with just wesker isn’t the best of idea, although jjj basically plays storm like that but it’s felicia instead of wesker iirc, so it can work

i’ve trying to learn a ammy/trish/[strider or vergil] team but when trish has access to ammy assist i don’t exactly know when i should be using it :s i’m so used to combo extend assists or full screen assists that i don’t know when cold star should be applied :frowning:
