If you time a alpha counter at the right moment, the incoming character will still retain invincibility and dodge the unblockable. So time your alpha counter just before the low and high would hit you. This will dodge it the unblockable. The opponent can still simply just play a hi/lo 50/50 mixup though, so its not a free ticket out of eating a full combo.

[LEFT]This isn’t really a Trish specific question but when you IAD, do you usually super jump straight up or in the direction you are trying to move? The reason I ask is because i tend to get supers or specials when I super jump anywhere except straight up. The difference in the distance covered seems negligible imo but I want to know what you guys think. [/LEFT]

Alpha countering does get you out of the unblockable, but you forget that assists have recovery and your still sitting there waiting to get hit lol.

taking the hit lowers the overall damage of the combo but if ur in the unblockable it likely wont matter because you will die from the damage anyway

The point is to Hyper Cancel the Assist into something with invincibility

Can someone explain to me how Trish is high/mid tier? I can’t find enough gameplays of her to see what makes her so good. If she’s that high of a tier just because she sets up the unblockables… then what other factors besides that, that make her good?

Trish is high/mid tier because she’s versatile. Has good keep away and good rushdown and can switch between the two as needed. Also, sets up unblockables and mixups with round harvest. Definitely doesn’t have the damage or bullshit factor of the top tier though (ie. Zero).

So its versatility that makes her that good, interesting. Forgive my ghetto comparison… so she’s a ghetto Zero minus the buster…

Why is this character so slept on.

This character has an 8 way air dash, flight mode, instant overheads, a special cancelable divekick, one of the best special moves in the game(hopscotch) one of the best assist, sword normal, the BEST box dash options in the game and of course can set up an unblockable.

I really think people need to reevaluate how to play this character. She’s so good.

Yes, people have been saying that for quite awhile now. Just got into training mode to see all of her moves. I could just feel the cheapness and just thought of several ideas to make my team more cheap…

A quote I came up with as a Trish player:

“Trish doesn’t have to deal with this shit”

Basically Trish doesn’t have to fight most high tier characters (yes…even zero) she can at least run and have them chase her. Granted she has the life lead and their assist aren’t hindering her air movement. But she can annoy most of the higher tier characters by herself. While she may not be the most damaging, she does do work now that Max voltage is OTG. Unblockable setup IMO doesn’t really help her as a character alone for high/mid tier. as a teammate sure.

Out of most of the “high tier” or characters that are up there, Dante, Phoenix, Dormammu probably give her the most problems.

For a character that got nerfed in the lame department, she still does it pretty well.

Green Ace pretty much covered the offensive side of her.

Trish, Viper and lockdown assist is some bullshit team.

Skrull vs Trish isn’t a bad match up in Skrulls favor.

-Its VERY possible to play “Hopscotch” from full screen without being punished.
-Standing over “Hopscotch” prevents Skrulls random cross ups
-Backdashing out of “Hopscotch” is absurdly stupid it could have been possible that he chose to go over your hopscotch and catch you anyway, in Marvel language you died.
-A Trish that doesnt cancel a divekick into Hopscotch at this point of gamelife is moronic.
