So yea been playing trish for a while now and I must say Im very happy with my character selection. With that said, everyones been saying I should move her from anchor so I’ve been considering actually moving her to point and running trish/sentinel/akuma, this way my teams always a threat because I do admit whenever my trish came in as anchor, even if she had lvl 3 x-factor available, it always felt like there was a mountain for me to climb, while akuma can get like 1 mill without x-factor. Im just testing this team out to see if tatsu does more for sentinel than peekabo(since sentinels technically my main character) and also seeing how well trish works with assists backing her up.
How do you guys feel about this team? Any suggestions or set-ups you think might be possible with tatsu and drones behind her? Oh and anyone know of any trish/sentinel or trish/akuma or trish/sentinel/akuma footage I can watch? The only one I’ve found so far is floe from way back in the day when he played trish/sentinel/wesker.
that was one of my first trish teams, its solid but when trish dies youll have problems against a smart player, so i ended up switching akuma with dante, sentinels drones help trish tri-dash mix up alot and its freaking tricky cause you can even cross up over drones or even tatsu but i dont find tatsu too effective because characters that are better in the air than trish that can control it with ease make your team harder to play with unless you had jam session,an example is keepaway zeros that have nothing to fear from trish cause they have lightning and would control trishs air space.
Good point, never really considered that, well thats kinda disappointing. Maybe Trish/Sentinel/Doom(hidden missiles) to give you that much needed air control, but Im not a big fan of sentinel with drones, oh well, ill just run akuma for the time being and see how that develops.
you can always choose akuma over drones instead, its the same thing but you do it alot faster, the cross ups. its just that anti air assists like doom missiles make the matches more in Trishs favor, we gotta remember that the games best characters have aerial keepaway and would never get near trish because of her hopscotch, etc.
But you see thats the problem, I love sentinel, every character Im playing I play because they help sentinel in one way or another. My team is by design, a sentinel team, trish is honestly just there cause peekabo helped sent so much, I literally would never have played her if I didn’t feel her assist did so much for him. Same goes for akuma. Ill drop anyone but sentinel, which is kinda sad considering he is arguably the worst character on my team.
yeah he got nerfed too hard, if they were going to take away his hyper sentinel force links they should have just gave him his 1.2~1.3mil health back or at least super armor when he does regular sentinel force, its just stupid that wesker can shoot through a drone and hit sentinel in the first place. you should experiment with your team to see what you can do against the air based characters that i was talking about, theres always call sentinel drones, super jump and throw round trip with low voltage afterwards but ryu and magneto can easily stop you during your round trip animation or chip you with 2 disruptors or hadoukens
I was using Trish/?/sent before I found vigil and the drones help a lot and I’ll still use it every now and then.
for footage it may sound weird but when rayray was playing a set with jago he was using Trish/sent and I thought he was doing a pretty good job considering he was playing against a player who maimed Trish since vanilla
rayrays trish was obviously better than jagos =_= people are too ignorant to see the truth, trish shouldnt even be used as anchor, people that lost to xf3 trish didnt know how to block correctly
its so true its funny, people over exaggerated that hes the best trish only because hes the only trish user in tournaments scoring top 5. But his real strength doesnt come from using trish at all, i see him use her alot more as an assist than on point and when he does put her on point its against characters trish does real good against. hes not really showing all her potential
You can make it work with Trish on point just find the right assist that works for both Trish and Sentinel. After you helped me in the Sentinel topic I got to experimenting in general and came upon liking my current team of Trish/Sent/Task since it allows me to runaway, cause havoc, and still cover the screen horizontally in some way. It’s still by design built to make it viable with Sentinel and characters I like using but surprisingly I do pretty respectably with Trish so that’s just bonus. There’s also good DHC options on this team whether it’s Trish to Sent, Sent to Trish, or even using all 3 characters in some way. Also because Peekaboo benefits Sentinel there’s more than enough reason to make sure I save her ass than some other point characters I toyed around with. In no way do I think this is the best Trish team because it certainly doesn’t take full advantage of some of her tools, but it works and is fun for me and just feels right for some reason. I think you just need to give the Trish/Sent/??? shell a try and find what you like in the third slot, it can work.
i dont have to worry about peekaboo because i already use jam session assist, so i can stick to hopscotch or low voltage, depending on what im facing against.
This was the only set I could find, and as you can see he was running firebrand/trish/doom. If you could please link me to this set your talking bout ill greatly appreciate it.
lol honest mistake, no harm done. But Im actually surprised there isn’t a single trish player on video who uses trish/sent, it seems like a potent combo on paper.
I’ve been practicing in training mode for a little bit, trying to find practical ways to maximize damage with Viper after a standard Trish BnB into Round Harvest that IS NOT blocked by the opponent. Kind of a noob question, but why is it that sometimes the Round Harvest carries the opponent up into the air? This is actually the situation I wanted to recreate and practice, so I set the training dummy to jump, but it left them grounded. I’m slightly confused.
On the other hand in case anyone didn’t know (I’m sure you did) Trish/Viper/Ammy can kill pretty much the entire cast without anything fancy/technical whether the Round Harvest is blocked or not. Doesn’t even require IAD, box dashing, rapid seismo or any of that technical Viper stuff.
It’ll carry them up into the air if it hits an airborne opponent, or if you knock them off their feet while it hits I believe. If the Round Harvest is active over someone as they get up and they’re trying to jump, it may hit them in their jump activation frames before they leave the ground.
In that case, they’d stay stuck on the ground until you change that.
At least that’s what I think is happening. Obviously if they raw tag another character into it, Round Harvest will hit while that character is airborne and they’ll be carried up.
