UMvc3 Trish

Peekaboo does take the durability of Dive Kick away. So he’s free to punish if he does hit it and just rubs his feet against you. Of course I wouldn’t sit there trying to bait it out but it’s nice to know down the road.

I would much rather lay Hopscotch against doom when i am on the ground, just helps out a bit better because if i block foot dive he gets hit by it and i go into a bnb with Trish. Peekaboo is still great but it gets annoying when you face a doom who finger lasers it and then foot dives you in the face before you can get another out. So i rather just have hopscotch out first then Peekaboo for re assurance.

Strider vs Trish?

I really think in Strider favor because of his aerial kick he got to bring the opponent and stuff. It’s really annoying because if you are trying to set up traps on the ground or air Strider, will come from above and strike you down. I would probably say on the ground and don’t throw her traps out recklessly, only certain situations like incoming or have an assists to back you up. I’m not to sure about this lol. Always play it safe people.

Anyone know how would I cover doom assists with Trish? I’m trying to ran slightly keepaway team Trish/Doom/Sent I think it’s really good team covers Trish a lot. Drones for the win xDD Are there setups for hidden missiles and Trish please anyone help me out.

i agree with hopscotch over peekaboo but i like having both if i can
i actually haven’t played a strider but from his tools and hers i never really thought he would be a problem for her; yes he has vajra but as trish wouldn’t it just be easier to to rush him down and tod him(assuming he’s on point/second)? if he’s anchor and he gets xf3 with orbs i think the trish player messed up in giving him the opportunity to activate. if he does get it i sure hope you can block o.O
but this is just what i think when i look at them on paper i’ve never played the matchup so hopefully someone else has input

I don’t find the match all that hard. Even with a anchor strider. Chances are if you’re playing Trish right, even with xf3 and orbs, he’s going to at best kill 1 character (and if Trish is point/secondary, you have 1/2 more characters left.)

both on point, I don’t think Strider should even get a chance to do anything crazy. Vajira isn’t much of a threat on point.

I personally Rush strider, Cause Half the time I’m gonna snap him in and kill him if hes anchor

i feel like im the only trish user that doesnt struggle against dormammu, my trish/dante trap stops him from setting up anything as soon as the battle starts. maybe the match up is in his favor if the trish player isnt doing what he/she should be doing against him or if trish was 2nd /3rd character on slot.
hawkeyes get pretty desperate against trish rushdown and start spamming super hoping shed press a button.
Magneto is like…her cr.m wins this battle, Magneto is like STOP SLIDING THATS CHEATING
And my god thank you KJunk i’ve posted in like 2 other threads about this match up and i felt as if noone was listening to me when i said that taskmasters arrows wont reach Trish at super jump height and if they jump to try and shoot arrows her boomerang would be there.
Vergils air d. :h: trades with divekicks if tiger kneed so you have to stay as close to the ground as you could before divekicking, the teleports arent too much of a problem either, in fact you can stay in the air and throw out a peekaboo and he would teleport into it if they do anything. the match is in his favor when he starts going for teleport with a vajra cross up!

You aren’t fighting the right Dormmamu then…Just saying, A good dormmamu can pretty much shut her down if he gets a split second of time away from her, Especially if they have the right assist and are using all of his tools correctly. What exactly are these “traps” you speak of? I would really like to know, because calling assist on him in the beginning of the match is a really bad idea if they know what they are doing…As far as Magneto and Tasky, i don’t have any problems with them.

a good dormammu would still be shut by a good trish at the beginning of the match if the trish is on point, dormammus walking speed is slow so trish being in front of him or half way distance wont give him breathing, the trish/dante set up starts from an air dash+h or divekick into calling dante(jam session) while going for a low for frametrap, you do round trip in front of him and jump up forward, the reason for this is, that trishs divekick at the normal jump height will beat out all incoming attacks as round trip is coming back to you, if you are push blocked at the wrong time as you call dante you wave dash back and throw round trip slightly over their head. another thing note worthy is if they pushblock air+h youll be able to do another air dash+ air h giving you enough time, i use this for anti-pushblockers very often but this whole concept gets beat out by a random shoryuken.

This is really hard for me to follow, because of the guy I play who mains Dorrmammu wouldn’t allow this, From How I picture it, it just doesn’t seem it would work out. Then again, It could be the player and not the character thats giving me problems, I don’t have a specific Dormmamu problem, Just someone who is really good @ that game and can adapt to situations really fast. I’m not gonna go into detail, but there’s a few loopholes in that plan that can get you screwed. Don’t get me wrong, you seem to know what you are talking about. I’m just saying that its not guaranteed.

Then again, I could be thinking of it in a completely wrong way.

Trish on point against Dorm on point is still hard. Even with the right assist. It’s pretty much impossible with the wrong assists (which honestly I have in my team.) Pretty impossible if Dorm has good assist to help his lame. He can kill you with chip if he feels like it and if he feels he’s about to be in any trouble, teleport away.

I wish the match I had with a real good dorm player in our area was recorded (might have been but not uploaded) because Trish literally got raped by pillars and sent drones. Then simply pushed back to the other side of the screen with Chaotic flame once I was close. Rinse repeat.

you know that if you advance guard you can negate some of the push effects, if your even half screen away from dorm, trish’s air dash+air H will reach him and if he push blocks you can do it again to still be close. her air dash+H will also hit and stop assists as their coming out and dormmamu is at his worst when hes on point cause he will only have 1 meter, he isnt much of a threat and i dont know how you would let yourself get hit by a person that has inferior normals compared to you so if you could tell me what CAN dormammu do once the game starts and says fight without having to spend the 1 meter he needs to do damage just to push trish even the slightest bit across screen.

tell me what the d

tell me what the dorm player is doing to stop trish early in the battle so i can try to picture the situation also, i use Dormammu for another team also and i have yet to beat well placed divekicks. I believe trish’s tools to rush in on the beginning of the match is about as good as wolverine, which is one of Dorms not so great match ups on point.

umm so when you play dorm there is no neutral situations at all you’re constantly in his face at all times?
i understand at the beginning of the fight if things go your way he should be dead; i mashed h harder and got the throw first now he has to block my mixup and he doesn’t, unblockable bye dorm. or you get a jumping move on him because he decided to stay grounded and that leads into an unblockable and he’s dead. maybe you just forced him to block from the beginning and he didn’t block the following mixups so he’s dead.
that’s not really trish fighting dorm though is it, that’s more avoiding it the fighting it imo

vs Doom: This is just a stupid matchup to be honest. Both of you want to be in the divekicking or playing keepaway, usually, but most of your traps/projectiles are going to be misses completely if you try to play your normal Trish game. You can try to bring the offense to him, but remember he has j.S, which will definitely kill Trish.

vs Felicia: Another stupid matchup, Felicia can abuse her divekicks all day and god forbid you get thrown. Feels like there really is no way to play solid. Avoid the corner especially if she has a lockdown assist.

vs Trish(mirror): Just like the Doom matchup, the angles on all your moves will pretty much miss completely cause both of you want to be in the air. The only other move that shoots straight technically is round trip, which won’t be getting you any crazy damage. The only good thing about hitting the round trip is that they fall and end having to eat some voltages and traps before they have a chance to get back in the air.

All of the above matchups, are all wonky. For most of the games I’ve played it really comes down how the team was built. Oh yeah, also plenty of timeouts.

Honestly, I can’t say its just Dormammu, Maybe It’s Dormammu+Hidden Missles which is the problem, But he will throw out a random super @ the start of the match which makes me block immediatly (cant call assist or they get hit) while calling Missles. At that point he has gotten away and I cannot catch him simply because he is Constantly charging and doing meteors/volcano. Not to mention the fact that he knows when to Zone and When to rush down. He also has a setup that if I block anything while hes near me, I take an unblockable, I can’t explain it, but its REALLY stupid. Hes also not afraid to have 0 meter. If I get hit once, I die cause he usually Pops Xfactor on Trish if need-be.

Honestly, When I Really think about it…Its not just trish, Its all of my characters that I can barely beat him with. Dormmammu is just a stupid character in general…

If you still cannot picture it, I will have video footage in the coming week or 2 maybe.

dont worry ive dealt with that alot actually but that was during vanilla i dont know what new dorm technology was added to it though, but why dont you try jumping up towards his direction in start of battle, if you double jump when he does the random super it will miss and you get to punish, also if he wasted the meter and called doom whats stopping you from using your super to punish doom on entry? then youll both have 0 bars. i only honestly get the biggest annoyance from dorm if he has stocked up like 3 meters+ because his stalking flare will get you into the purification set ups and eventually the flame carpet, im saying its a situational bad match up. And since you use jam session assist i dont think it should be that hard getting in because jam session kills off missiles if your under it, not all because those things scatter so randomly

in the beginning of the fight when it says go trish should already be in front of dormammu due to his extremely slow walk speed, if not he is bunny hopping away from you which is technically the same thing, her air dash+h has option select for grab so you wouldnt need to worry about getting grabbed and if used consistently its also anti pushblock tool due to the ridiculous range, theres the other situation with him using his super to try to get trish away, the super is blocked doesnt push you too far away from dorm to start another series of air dash+h but we could just avoid random supers by double jumping up+toward dorm anyway. but if he has “3” meters or 2 and a half, after a pushblock plus some fast assist to get baited he will stalking flare, pillars until stalking flare is done, stalking flare, pillars again and thats the situation trish did not want to get involved with in the first place, in the other words i just dont think hes threatening on point as he could be when he has all that shit to blow you up after, and if he really wanted to and had no assists to stop trish in her tracks from rushdown he can chaotic flame , x-factor, stalking flare, now your screwed specially since round harvest super even if done in the situation will get beat out once trish blocks the stalking flare, same cant be said for dorm.

I kinda knew you would respond Like this, But its simply Not that simple…His movements are much more advanced than just Walk backwards and Do moves, He does other things aside from having meter which makes it seem impossible. Only reason I rather us both not have meter is because then i am COMPLETLY outclassed and I can barely get anywhere close to him. He also will gain meter far faster than I will @ that rate. Also, If I super Doom during his assist, its not doing enough damage for him to actually care that he got hit or not. As I said, I can’t explain it. I understand where your getting @, but I’m sure its FAR worse than you are imagining it. I’m not saying that I can’t win ever, I’m just saying that 9 times out of 10, I probably will lose.

Look at it this way, If I block pretty much anything, I’m almost set into a Infinite Full screen blockstun (Key word: Almost) I might have a second or so to move. By the time I can move, I’m pretty much back @ square one. Just wait till i get some Video sets with him, Then I will link you to them when uploaded.

hm alrighty then.
