Yeah, I just tried it out. You can do it, but you need to have less hits otherwise your opponent will fall out of it. I initiated the combo with the standard j. H into Down H and my opponent fell out of it before the last j. S could hit. I initiated without that air approach and it worked. We are going to need to modify that combo a bit, but it works.
EDIT: Actually…I just went back and retested it. It works completely, it is just the window is a little tighter because the opponent flies a little lower after the round trip pulls them towards you in the air.
What’s the deal with her flight mode now? Quicker startup or less total flight time?
Felt like that was really unappreciated about her game in Vanilla, when she can jump, double jump, fly, and then call assists at the top of the screen while airdashing around at ridiculous speeds.
I got to play the game today. Trish is REALLY intact still. So don’t worry about her action Limit or anything. The Fly mode seemed like it had a quicker start up, Idk about flight time. Her Medium Low voltage is faster. Connecting standing and crouching attacks during ground combo is “weird”? I can’t really explain it. Her Tri dash Light overheads seemed easier. Can still instant overhead. OTG Max voltage REALLY comes in handy. Their are situations in which is helped out. She has a REALLY big Hitbox on her air normals. I literally did a whole combo from behind. Overall she feels really Good.
Honestly, there was no need to be able to throw more than one hopscotch trap while in the air, unless they were hovering over you anyways. Thats not much of a nerf at all.
So her cancel into flight is faster? Might be true, they did speed up the flight activation on Morrigan. Maybe Trish can get some magneto esque cr.LMH xx Flight j.H pressure going.
crosses fingers
All last week I was acting like a badass, like I was going to drop Trish. Like I could just let go of my favorite character in Vanilla. I’m not going anywhere. Especially after seeing that gorgeous chocolate skin Gloria ALT.
And here I was hoping she would have a classy DLC outfit.
But, hey, who am I kidding here? It’s a DMC female we are talking about here - Trish’s original costume is as classy and non-sexualized as it will ever get.
That being said I am so using that DLC costume.
PS: How boss are all the DLC costumes? Capcom did a great job with these. I might just go back to Taskmaster just for his DLC costume.
EDIT: I don’t have the guide or anything but I will play around with her flight mode today.
Check the Trish combos near .51 second mark. We can now do j. H, down H. for the relaunch and basically integrate more J H attacks into her combos. This is a nice little buff. You could not do that in vanilla!
Please test if her divekick is slower/faster/same?
Which version of low voltage is faster (L,M,H)? All of them? Is it faster startup or faster recovery?
None of that seems any different. Low voltage assist is still slow as hell. Low Voltage L is quick, but it always was. Divekick feels the same to me, as does flight. plink dashing in flight seems hard (impossible?) now though. Activating flight in air definately feels the same. Activating on ground may be slightly better. It’s really ahrd to tell these things without frame data though, or a way to quickly compare to Vanilla.
I’m having a very hard time doing L,M,H,S, jM, jH, jd+H, L, M;H,S, jM, jM, jM, jS midscreen. It seems like the game isn’t tracking which side the opponent is on very well, at least not as good as in Vanilla, and I whiff the last jH.
super quick day 1 damage before I run off: jH, j d+H, cL, cM, cH, S, jM, j d+H, L, M, H, S, jM, jM, jH, jS, Air Max Voltage - 540, 800. Max Voltage still hits a little funky so that is not with all of it connecting. It hits almost sporadically. I think the character dropped out but then they get hit by the next projectile.
Same combo, mashed Max Voltage- 570,800.
Few things to help you hit the combos easier
[LIST]
[]If you cut out the j.:h:, before the relaunch, that should make the relaunch much easier to time
[]Don’t use her crouching :h: if you can help it at all - it adds more hitstun deterioration then her standing :h:
[*]If you’re having trouble with which side the opponent falls on after the relaunch, try jumping up or even up+back after the initial launcher. You’ll still easily catch them with j. into dive kick and then relaunch, hopefully keeping them on the same side as you started.

One thing to try too would be after the last j.:s: that grounds them, TKing a Hop Scotch or Round Trip and cancelling that into her Air Max Voltage to OTG. It might add a little damage.
Sorry, that was actually suppsed to be a sH.
TK Hopscotch/Round Trip does not appear possible. It seems to take just enough time to allow the opponent to recover before Max Voltage can hit OTG. Especially Round Harvest. I’ll definately test this out for a little bit longer though. At least with hopscotch. I’m not great at all, but I would be shocked if TK round Trip>Air Max Voltage OTG is possible.
It was reported earlier that the RDK special might be impossible.alot harder. Definately not true. jH, dive kick, cL, cM, sH, S, jM, dive kick, air hopscotch, jM, jH, H, S, jM, jM, (double jump) jM, jH, S, Round Trip+Viper OTG assist, S, S, S, Air Max Voltage OTG is a go. And an easy way to break 600k with low damage Trish.
KJunk, I can’t wait for you to get this game, cuz you are definately more useful than I am.
I apologize ahead of time for the double post. Too late to edit.
TK hopscotch does in fact work. Adding it to my above combo (the one with Viper OTG assist) does 746,700. Doing the above combo without Hopscotch does 661, 700. I think some of the difference in number might be that the TK Hopscotch allows more hits of Max Voltage to hit=more damage. I don’t know though, Max Voltage is funky sometimes.
I’m glad to report that you can Air Max Voltage OTG, X Factor, Air Max Voltage. It works at the end of fairly long combos. Definately helps Trish pump out better damage.
Does anyone know how to properly mash hypers? Is it mashing buttons or spinning the stick. After alot of testing I’m pretty sure the difference in my combo damage figures is a result of Max Voltage randomness and not mashing properly. Also, I’m using a pad, don’t know if that matters.
Awesome to hear on the RDK special using Viper Seismo since that’s my team I’ve also heard from Nini that Air Max Voltage leaves them in a hard knockdown afterwards? Since Viper’s :d::db::atk::atk: Hyper OTGs with its first hit, that might be a really easy DHC in the corner. Man I love Trish + Viper more and more every day.
Another thing to try would be Round Harvest -> X-Factor -> Air Max Voltage (to OTG them up into the Round Harvest). Also curious if Air Max Voltage X-Factor Air Max Voltage works.
