That’s the look of someone switching to KoF XIII
Chris G makes that face everytime he loses in anything. There’s entire videos of his sad face/saltiness after losing a 3S tournament. He takes his games serious.

Aww man, I wanna give Chris G a hug. 2nd isn’t bad at all bro. You’re still awesome.
Seems like execution errors really dominated the tournament.
I still think the worst though is Marlin losing a set because he dropped HHHHHS with ammy.
Am I a bad person for laughing at that? Its all good Chris your still the people’s champ.
It’s impossible not to laugh at that video at some point. The bigger issue though is that Chris has always been a champion of winning with his own play style/characters. He prefers to create his own good stuff and doesn’t rely on tier lists or what everyone else is doing to do it (outside of throwing Wesker in when it counts…which you can’t blame). He may falter when it comes to getting that 1st spot but you gotta respect the work he puts in and how he innovates things. I think I remember him saying that his favorite character in 3S is Sean.
This is the same guy that was winning east coast tourneys in Vanilla with Ammy and Ryu. Except now it’s Firebrand, Hawkeye and Ryu mixed in with Wesker sometimes. The fact that the only true S tier he really uses is Wesker between both games and still did so well is crazy.
So the Box Arena stream already ended? DId I miss any smart play?
Concerning Chris G, hey, he may get disappointed with himself (he cares about his game), but he doesn’t let it get in his way. That’s respectable.
Though I will admit, that video is pretty funny.
Yes you missed Dios X…IMO, possibly the best UMVC3 player atm and seriously underrated. His team chemistry is just too good and the guy’s gameplay just seems to be beyond a lot of the top players at the moment. His zoning style seems to get him a lot of haters but honestly it’s the best zoning I’ve seen of any player in marvel 3.
Dios X pretty much steamrolled through the Box Arena tourney, so solid.
Ah, too bad. I’ll have to catch up on the archives when they come up. His Doom is amazing.
The archives are already up
Dios X is def the best Doom out of all these Doom players.
 at Viscant calling Strange’s SoV “spell of me”
clock & shady K would like to have a word with ya fam.
Dios is definitely on the same level as those two, stronger than ShadyK due to more experience with the character IMO.
(Ffffff…it would figure that my browser freezes at the end of a post again.)
By the gods, this thread moves way too quickly. Reminds me of part of the reason why I didn’t bother keeping up with the vanilla one even before the problems that arise when my computer tries to stream something most of the time.
Anyway, I have to agree that the calls to nerf Wesker, as much as I don’t like playing against the guy (especially since I play Chris), seem a bit of a rush. Yes, it’s basically the same bullshit from vanilla sans floating gunshots. Yes, it was a stupid, unnecessary buff that makes no sense, especially since Wesker was already prevalent in vanilla, so it’s not like Zero where the developers didn’t see any of him and buffed him with the thought “gee, this character needs help”. Yes, it’s boring to watch.
The thing is, though, that UMvC3 hasn’t even been out a month yet. It seems like if he gets nerfed now, then it’s just going to be a knee-jerk reaction (like Sentinel) that over-nerfs him that very same people who asked for it are going to complain about.
Additionally, it would seem that quite a bit of his “domination” was coming from the fact that people just want to push buttons and not block, which is just a no-go against Wesker’s obnoxiously safe and braindead stuff.
So while I can understand getting caught off guard by his H teleport if he has sunglasses off and/or (Level 3) X-Factor or getting caught off guard by blundering into the range where his L teleport just crosses you-up (especially if he has beam assist, because, hey, who doesn’t), I have to ask: whose fault exactly is that people not only aren’t blocking low, but don’t seem to blocking at all at times?
This isn’t applicable in all cases, obviously, but it seems like it would go a long way towards dealing with him, especially if he’s by himself. It’s not like this is online where sometimes you just can’t react even to crap you know is coming. Similarly, considering how few Weskers tend to use his command throw (still, despite how quickly that stupid thing recovers), just blocking against him seems the safest bet (for now).
I have to admit, though, that I’m kinda dumbfounded on why his X-Factor time seems the same length as vanilla when Dark Wesker was there as well. I also have to admit a morbid curiosity about how many teams in tournaments have featured Wesker already considering how little time the game has been out.
You too? +42 more meaningless respect points from myself to you.
When it comes to the characters you were playing around with, curiosity compels me to ask: Do you have no interest in Vergil? As much as that guy is already whored out, considering I keep hearing that he’s basically like Wesker + Dante and what MvC3 Sentinel wanted to be with teleports, I kinda expected you to gravitate towards him since you play Wesker. So it’s weird see you play freaking Spider-man–poor Mr. Parker doesn’t seem like he could hurt a fly now–over Wesker II.
Like some other people said by now, learn Zero anyway. As much as I don’t like (to play as or against) that guy either, I don’t understand why more people don’t play his seeming broken-ass. I mean, I recall you personally saying you don’t like execution heavy characters (or am I thinking of someone else), but he’s not nearly as needy as C. Viper in that department.
Really, though, we kinda need someone to troll with “X” at tournaments and I’m surprised that only like three or four people seem to play him regularly at a high level 9 months after vanilla has ended.
(Yes, it perhaps double-talk of me to count 9 months towards Zero use and less than a month towards cries for Wesker to be nerfed. Please deal.)
Completely unrelated to this thread, but you don’t need to make much time for it. Actually, keeping busy is preferable to having unlimited free time since you’ll do anything but write if you’re not motivated to squeeze words out of what little time you have. All you technically have to do is write about 1,665 words per day, which is an hour and a half at like an average pace.
This works even with indefinite writer’s block, something that I pretty much up until the last couple of days of last month. I mean, if my lazy ass can do it, then pretty much anyone can. [/thread hijacking]
“Harder” combos.
Crying in this thread is going to make Wesker shit tier
But I don’t mind. Actually, Dark Wesker is BS. Normal Wesker without shades buff is fine.
Wolverine in Berserker Charge + XF is still BS. He shouldn’t get a speed boost in XF bringing him back to vanilla days.
(By Odin’s beard, I really need to proofread more. Being dead tired isn’t an excuse.)
Dante’s combos are more difficult? If anything, they seem like they’re easier–I’m not counting any Bold Cancel ones here, especially since I don’t use the character–due to that rather needless change of his moves becoming double-taps.
Maybe it’s just because I’ve been hit by enough +51 hit combos starting from that damn Hammer and ending in Killer “Hey, let’s pretend I’m a good version of Chun-li” Bee into Million Dollars to become slightly biased, especially given how easy it seems to pull off online.
I’d understand his combos building less meter being more of a “complaint”, but “harder” seems…weird even with all the changes that I know he’s experienced to them–I guess it just seems odd that people want to see combos that literally last for 10+ seconds, especially considering how much people complained/complain about Ultra length around here.
(Yes, I know you were probably being sarcastic and just repeating what the pretext was for less Dante use, GomuGomu; it just seems weird to hear that anyone thinks that, especially considering how often he’s still on online. I guess he’s “harder” than his brother combo-wise, but Vergil seems like another pretty easy character to utterly murder people with.)
And then people will cry about that like they do/did about Sentinel after his nerf…even though Sentinel is hardly bad even as he is now. (Not that the severity of the nerf was entirely merited, stupidity of ground bounce j.S aside.)
And it will be delicious.
^At least the second crying is post-stupidity, and then you can actually see that a character might have been over nerfed. Poor SentiNAL. Can’t even Rocket punch swag anymore.
Dark everyone is BS. This game is much better when played without X-Factor, but meh. As for the shades buff, I hate that shit. Turns a simple 550 combo into +600k
Wesker was already (sort of) a Scrub Magnet. With the shots, trenchcoat and easy combos/highdamage. But now that he gets all that shit, some of it better, and even gets easy dumb damage from it, it just attracts more derpness.
I almost want to not play him. Almost.
On the other hand, I like to see him being spammed in top play, because there’s people coming up with some sick resets and I can steal those.
