Youâre all either missing the point or proving him right. We can sit here all day and argue whoâs worse the FGC or the FPS community. Thatâs irrelevant. The point is how immature and elitist a lot of people in the FGC are. If you donât think so then itâs probably because you are the problem or youâre in denial.
Smash had the 2nd or 3rd most. It still had more interest than most of the ârealâ fighters at evo. The point is that a gameâs community can keep their game alive for 10+ years, raise all this money and support that it did and still gets disrespected because of some petty nonsense. Treating people poorly because they prefer a different game is immature and kind of pathetic. I regularly see tremendously bad sportsmanship at events. Bullying is a bit less common but it exists. Surely you remember cryin brian or every other fanatiq video? Keep in mind not everything gets recorded. Iâve seen corn heckle a guy to the point where he screamed at them, punched a chair, and got in their faces(until he realized he was just one out of shape guy). The FPS community allegedly being worse is not an excuse for this kind of stuff.
I understand that he has a point and if all the stupid shit that he talked about in the video actually happens a lot then it needs to stop. However, Iâve never actually seen anyone seriously say âsmash isnât a fighting game.â Iâve heard people say âpeople who think smash isnât a fighting are idiots,â but Iâve never seen anyone say that it isnât. Maybe I am just oblivious to all the bullshit that happens though. I am aware that a lot of members of CORN are very disrespectful but I wasnât aware that that kind of thing happens a lot at events. I always thought the commentary was a big problem for people who outside the community.
I play Hulk, and I have to agree with you. Hulk w/o Lariat is just not as threatening. I HATE Haggar. Heâs in my top tier of characters I despise (right up there with Cap, Nova, Frank, and Zero), but to deny that heâs ESSENTIAL for success with Hulk is folly.
Hulk is far too unsafe. His downward gamma charge, while plus on block, can be chicken blocked. Lariat covers the problems Hulk faces in high level play. Against lesser opponents, you donât need it as much. I donât think Hulk requires an OTG assist, but conversions in certain situations are problematic without it.

Hulk/Haggar/Sent
All of these are probably his best configurations. I probably need to start using Haggar in order to get the most out of my Hulk, but I am stubborn and canât/wonât play characters I just donât enjoy playing.
Hulk/Haggar is NOT a top tier pairing, but it is Hulkâs best partner.

this site (and others) used to have a large following that disparaged smash. It got to a point where smash players were treated like untouchables which I find utterly stupid to this day.
the fact that smash was at evo is nothing short of miraculous and its based on the strength of a loyal community/fanbase that plays a great fighting game.
Ironically most of the niggas that said such sentiments were bitter people that saw their community rust and were too busy talking shit instead of helping to revitalize their scene

Lariat is just an annoying ass move. As an assist, it causes problems for Hulk. (Unless you are using it)
Pipe is another annoying move. Everything ABOUT Haggar irks the shit out of me. You can respect armor, but moves with invincibility? They just suck. His Violent Axe mixup on incomingâŚhis headbuttâŚhis complete disregard for physics when he hugs the air repeatedlyâŚall annoying.
Irrational? I donât think so.
I consider Haggar to be a better character than Hulk by quite a bit.

I actually played against Noel at our weekly Microsoft Tourney down here in Florida last week. I was also surprised to see him there given all thatâs been going with him lately.
He used a couple different teams, the ones he played against me (double jeopardy) were Spencer/Dorm/Akuma and Wolvie/Doom/Phoenix.
