Yeah. I’ve gone over it multiple times (its pretty much all I do in tier threads)

Hes only good with an assist and online. He has a good assist which puts him last a lot but to actually beat skilled players you cant just rely on lvl 3 x factor wesker. Wesker loses hard to zoning, has predictable mobility, and is outclassed in the damage department as well. Really though, Wesker has no place in the top 10 of this game. Like I’ve said, hes simple, easy, and at most levels of play effective. But are you ever really snapping in Wesker? (Well you shouldnt be) No. You’re snapping in Phoenix, STRIDER, Zero (idk why hes not on point) and sometimes problem assists. While Wesker’s assist is good its ussually never better than the Plasma Beam/Hidden Missile thats ussually accompanying him.

Wesker being top 5 or whatever people keep putting him at in this game is like putting Ken top 5 in SFIV because hes easy and does good damage. But both characters are zoned to hell and if Wesker couldnt have assists or X-Factor like Ken NO ONE would be putting him this high up. Even with an assist, theres plenty more bullshit characters that can actually kill you off of touching you without X-Factor.

And to finish this, he’s worse than Viper. By a good margin.

True, but keep in mind because of headbutt and pipe, Haggar actually has an airgame that you have to respect. Haggar also has a one frame command grab and a Level 3 that’s now worth using.

Ahhhh I see that makes a little more sense. I keep forgetting about the prone buff Chris recieved and havent utilized it at all sadly. I guess that it would also help to negate pillars because of their large start up.

Who would you consider are his worse matchups? Zero is an obvious one, I also feel like Vergil when he is backed with the right assists.

Yeah, solo Wesker has an issue vs zoning (at least he does now with the gun fire and gun-> teleport tactic nerfed). Not sure why he’s top 5 in any tier list. Also, what happened to Iron Fist being able to negate advance guard with Rekka chains and cancel his overhead into low rekka? Add the combos off of normal grabs solo, way better mobility and I don’t see how he doesn’t tie with Haggar at least. Mix-up between air-grab and ground :m: should deal with the up-back issue. =/

Yeah, like Zero, Wesker can be annoying…Vergil and Dante I feel only suck when they have assists…which should be always, so go ahead and throw them on there…Firebrand probably is too, Viper, etc… I think he does pretty solid against some of the stronger characters, ie Dorm, Hawkeye, Nova, etc. I’m kind of on the fence about Doom, his keepaway game is good but he can’t really sustain it forever and Chris beats him on the ground…idk about that one really.

As a day one Vanilla Wesker player I have found he is BY FAR the most effective on point with assists, whether they are to help rush down, start combos, or extend them. I have also looked at more effective variants of combos to see which is most effective execution-wise as well as general Wesker play from say scrubs and good players (e.g. MastaCJ) and I would say the current way he is played (online, in tournaments, virtually everywhere aside from a small minority) is definitely not S Tier level. He can be punished hard when trying to rush down, he can avoid zoning but only to a subpar level (Find a good Trish and you will see) and Dark Wesker I find is really not that frightening.

Still think people are overrating Felicia, she’s on line with hte other 'B’s you have there, most of the others have some serious ‘wow’ tools, and in my mind she just doesn’t.

Edit: also seirously, wesker is at least on the same level with Mag and Ammy, I’m sorry :stuck_out_tongue:

I can see her lowering in effectiveness once the game develops more, but at the moment she’s pretty much another Wolverine.

Its pretty good honestly although I really don’t think Strider should be S or A+. Also there is no reason for Dante to be above Magneto when Magneto has superior mobility, damage, normals, and zoning. And seriously, Firebrand over Wolverine and Spencer? Come on now…

Well except she’s not… her combos are harder (for actual damage) and her air options aren’t nearly as good.

This. Felicia doesn’t have a dive kick which ground bounces and is essentially broken, therefore she’s no wolverine.

She’s within top 5 anchors of the game (while also being very solid on point) so I would say A is pretty good. We’re lucky nobody uses Dark Felicia in tourneys yet because she makes Dark Wesker seem fair.

They actually gave her that in Ultimate so on point or as anchor you can dive around like an idiot and if you hit them they die.

At this point she’s going on being Wolverine with a command grab (the L one having long ass range with 5 frame start up and shorter ranged ones at 3 and 1 frame start). She can do left/right mix ups just like Wolvie with call assist into H delta kick (the DJ Huoshen special) or M cat spike which basically just auto left/rights people. Plus you can do the J.Wong special if you wanna get more gimmicky with the call assist then cat crawl/cat and mouse (DJ Huoshen’s left/right is faster to set up though).

Wolverine’s easier to play but I wouldn’t consider him necessarily better than her at all outside of XF2+B Charge which is still dumb good.
