Let me rephrase, a MAIN team. Just a team even. I’ve been wandering lost in this game lol. I want to get into some tournament action, so I want to prepare a main team. I’ll probably also prepare a second counter team also.
LOL. I’m just practicing combos with him now. Like the super jump conversion stuff. His execution is fun if anything and I really like his normals for an air dash type character and I like how he can instant high/low everybody in the cast easily with SJ ADD M or H. Doom’s kinda restricted to box jumps for overheads against the smaller cast. I’m gonna miss dat S foot dive trading with everything but I love iron man’s beam and he works great with Dante both ways IMO so I’ll trade.
I guess it’s hard to start with him. There are ways to get around the poor mobility and air dashes which he has, but not a lot of people look into that. As with a lot of the characters, it’s a lack of attention, and a lack of building a team around Iron Man to get the best options and combos.
There were a lot of people, me included, who have tried very hard to make Neo-IronMan work, but the reality is, he’s a C-tier character. I don’t see any sleeper potential there. It’s not like when Vanilla was new and no one knew what to do with Viper’s tools or how to get damage with Zero. Iron Man is just kinda meh…
Mm, I’d have thought something like Vajra assist + Smart bomb combo would have been an effective tool (if possible), has anyone looked into this? I know his anchor potential is terrible but I’m still not quite sure with his on point play.
The sad thing is that even after we construct this tier list the only characters that will see heavy usage are
Wesker,Doom,Zero,Ryu,Akuma,Captain America,Hawkeye Trish,Dante,Virgil, Sentinel, Hulk,Strider, Frank, Wolverine, Taskmaster, Deadpool, Dog and Nova.
@Nini, I know I’m like a few pages late but why do you think arrows are a whole tier below beams? I thought were as good, especially Tasky’s since the leave opponent standing and absurd chip (do they still?). Do they suck mid combo or something I’m forgetting?
Actually, Iron Man combo’s average damage is very good as is his conversion rate, the problem is that his neutral game is practically non existent. It’s nigh impossible for him to gain an advantage or to get someone who has the advantage off of him, and it’s all thanks to that awful air dash they gave him.
I’m not Nini, but like half the cast can just crouch under greyhound.
This is where I thought Vajra would be decent as a get off me and possibly a combo starter. I honestly have no idea if it works as I have no experience with Iron Man whatsoever, I just think it could be a place to start to try and avoid putting him to bottom tier and considering him worthless in competitive tournament play.
Is the link in your video that one Skrull/Firebrand block trap?
If so, why are you putting it out there for people to see! it’s such a gamebreaker!
yeah.
The thing I didn’t cover is, with a wide variety of AA type assists its very easy to get one rep of the loop, which boosts his damage to about 900k on a standard BnB, but split between two characters. When you bring raw tags into the mix, shit gets very bonkers very fast. My Firebrand/Dante/Viper BnB does way too much damage, taking 400k off one character and probably killing the snapped guy second. At which point the first guy comes in and loses that red life.
So far Viper, Dorm, Wesker, Zero definite S tiers based on consensus. Gonna see where Dante and Doom fall.
Doom got the A+ tier. Dante definite S tier also.
In my tier list, I had 4 characters in S and could never decide on a 5th. Dormammu has always been in contention… I can’t argue against it he’s a beast in this game. I also think he does good against Zero (by good I mean he can fight him especially with meter stocked up).
So I’m gonna go ahead and make a big post because everyone is doing it and I wanna pull my weight
One character I see shit on all the time is the green bitch herself, She-Hulk. Now I understand that a character who was upper-mid at best got nerfed pretty decently in this one, and I too think it wasn’t really deserved. Having said that, I wanna look back at this character who I think still has some merit.
First of all, she lost being able to chain her c.l into another one, which I admit, is a bit of a letdown. Her c.l has a really decent hitbox, and if there was one to complain about at all it was this one which seemed to even anti-air fairly easily. But if you think about it, what have we lost here? Sure we can’t mash the hell out of it when we know we got the hit and use the chaining as a safety blanket, but it’s still a decent c.l.
Next, the slide’s distance was reduced. This is easily gotten around by cancelling a dash into c.h, which is roundabouts the same range. Can still kara-cancel for decent mixup, so not a whole lot lost there.
As far as relaunching, it’s still possible; it may not be optimal, but it’s still possible to relaunch by using blah blah s, sj, immediate s, d+h, and then link a c. l to continue. TAC glitch was cool, but I believe those more gifted than I can find ways around it using this tactic.

She-Hulk still has a very good j.h, which is often automatically option selected into her great air throw, which she can easily relaunch off of and get some decent damage and typically end in a Torpedo which allows her to run her command grab or TOtT mixups.
Speaking of those, they are still potent, as a lot of places in She-Hulk’s typical combos end in positions where you are being air-reset, which is of course is a good opportunity to get her M command grab off. She also has a L command grab which is good to use off of ticks with her c.l and s.m, and her H can be helpful in fighting back in from advancing guard and occasionally pulling a quick one. Experimenting with different assists to see what her optimal setups are is key.
Now, the meat of what I would like people to look at, is her contributions as anchor. Shulk has a pretty good assist in Torpedo. It’s a very long ranged OTG and pops them pretty high into a position that a lot of characters can take some advantage of. I know our dextrous friend from up North, DuckStrong, has made good use of this with Thor, and I know from personal experience that Ghost Rider gets the world’s easiest unblockables into great damage from any position on the screen.
Even better, I feel that Shulk, while not the greatest character (Or maybe even top 10) at this position, with XF3, she gains decent speed, and aside from having a great air throw, what stops a lot of people from being able to take to up back into the corner is Taking Out the Trash, which has invincibility on startup and leads to immediate death, all while having fairly good range. Once again, not the greatest at all, but absolutely decent, and well worth taking a look at.
To end, I’d like to say that I’m not arguing is an S tier character, and A tier character, or even the fabled A-(:P) tier. In my own tier list I have her as B, which is characters that usually need assists to even begin to function properly or have some merit last. What I am saying, is that she can work, and giving her optimal getting in assists and giving her one of the typical great air assists (Jam Session, Vajra, which I believe she can capitalize on pretty easily) is necessary, but it’s doable. I hope some people take this into consideration…aw who am I kidding I’m not writing an essay about Zero or Viper or Wesker WHY WOULD U LISTEN TO ME???
I actually agree with a lot of this. I rated her a little higher than some people (I think), but to be honest with you I think she was overrated in Vanilla. Her health and throw potential is what made her appealing, but even the slightest nerfs have high negative impact against because of what little reason there was to pick her over Wesker, Wolverine, etc.
I totally agree that she was overrated, and even the most terrible of She-Hulk teams (cough Floe cough) won because of…other reasons. Very overrated, and as I mentioned likely nothing more than high-mid.
She Hulk still fine imo. I’d tap dat green ass.
Shehulk/wolverine/akuma is still the best troll team ever. . . not because it’s bad, but it’s just widely recognized as “that team.”
Soo…the consensus is Firebrand is a beast so far.
