UMVC3 SRK Tier List/Theory Discussion. (NEW THREAD NOW AVAILABLE)

Why don’t you think that MODOK is “versatile”?

Mike Ross is garbage so who cares. Let him go on being a low tier hero (even though for the most part he doesnt play low tier).

My visual tier list, feedback is welcomed:

Umm, do you really think Ryu is better than Akuma on both point and support? I’d argue with both of those propositions :stuck_out_tongue:

Remember when people thought Morrigan was going to be bottom tier because of the air dash nerf? And despite that, she now gets far more play competitively than in Vanilla and is actually making an impact in tournaments.

About Spiderman: The biggest problem I have with him is that his normals are absolutely awful, and it could be very hard to confirm with him (kinda like what Iron Man has to deal with, although his normals are actually good). However, he himself can be very hard to hit due to his small size and plentiful mobility options (web swing, multiple web zips, airdash). I’m not convinced that he’s anything better than mid tier because of those normals, but maybe I’ll be proven wrong.

I think Ryu is an all around better point character than Akuma in this build, Akuma has a better assist but Ryu’s tatsu isn’t bad either… They arent too far apart but looking at it again, I’d switch Akuma for Haggar which is what I’m gonna do now

Why do people keep thinking that “All-purpose/Versatile” is the opposite of “Has weaknesses”?

All the characters have weaknesses.

Some more than others

I believe that’s the default of the chart, isn’t it?

There’s mine…I wasn’t sure how to do the left and right sides, so I did it by what they offer to a team…my example being that Spider-Man, while good, offers very little to a team in the form of assists, DHC’s, THC’s, etc.

They’re apart like that because Zero is simpler and more effective as a character in general. Zero and Viper can be both overwhelming, but Zero edges it out because his most abusable tools don’t need meter like Viper’s Ex Seismo.

Lets just say Zero is that pretty girl in the room, who gets a lot of attention, and doesn’t need to do much of anything to look good, its all natural.

Where as Viper, who is also pretty and gets attention, but had to work out to keep shape, has put on make up to even look as good, and has slight social problems.

Viper = Work hard; Play smarter.
Zero = Just do it.

I hope my point is clear.

Pshh all shotos are the same.

Compare MODOK to Trish who’s in the same x axis, simpler and more effective.

Now that doesn’t mean MODOK is bad or worse than Trish, he could be better than her, but at this point in the game as a MODOK player you got to have a lot more skill/experience with the game than a Trish player.

But looking at my list now, it seems way too confusing/cluttered. I’m going post up the text version of it instead.

I’m going to give Thor a little try. I’m very interested, and me and my roommates have a lot of inside jokes involving him lol!

It wasn’t a very good metric.

Personally I recommend.

X = Suport Value
Y = Point Value

I threw together an example, or rather, my list based on that criteria. If things are right next to each other they are probably pretty darned similar, but I still tried (keyword “tried” to keep them in order regardless.

Also, thanks for the response Linari, that makes sense.

Yay~!
People are breaking the mold!
Different tiers for a different game!

Who knows where this new direction will take things?

P.S.
I do know that this type of chart has existed for quite some time,
but I feel that it is often over-looked, thus my reaction.

nvm misunderstood the graph

It did? I had him crap on point, but over there with Aruthur and Hsien-Ko for support.

THe bottom tiers are more spread out because… well… I wasn’t running out of room. lol

This happened to me as well, I can’t call it a waste of time tho, it just made me realize how much I really love Dormammu.

Things are getting better between us now that Ghost Rider is gone.
