Aside from wishing he had something like super armor or a projectile like most of the other heavy characters, I’m fine with Haggar as is. Beating anyone with teams full of top 5-10 characters with him is enjoyable as hell.

Corner grab looping people online is fun, but when you go to an offline spot and land it consistently? Oh, the angry faces… fuck giving that up.

Skullgirls has the exact same problem except you can make custom assists.

As a player I respect immensely (mainly because you display a level of execution and combo creation that I’m very jealous of, but also because you could probably kill me in a match), I’m curious why you think the carpet assist would be so bad. I’m viewing it in the light of all characters getting a better assists and therefore making everyone better. While I’m not opposed to the carpet being toned down as an assist (perhaps really harsh damage scaling or something like that), I was merely using it as an example of taking a horrendous assist and making it more useful.

Flame carpet relaunches, hits low, can prevent rushdown, and OTGs. Plus eats low level projectiles.

Yes, it does all those things.

It also hits multiple times and is + on block.

Mind you it was severely nerfed from Vanilla to Ultimate lol

Yeah that makes no sense. This games footsies are just different from SF footsies. Since a lot of characters can use teleports and mobility options to bypass the general footsie range along with the obnoxious fucking hitboxes in this game.

Wheelchairs?

Only fighter I can think of with no footises are the touhou fighters and I’m probably wrong about that.

  • Allow Chaos Dimension to be stored.

(Meaning he can invoke it and tag out and still be glowing on the next tag in.)

I think this would make him a more interesting/viable character.

Essentially it would create a cool meta game around him where a player is essentially trying to lock in a level 3 while attempting to rebuild the lost meter with another character then trying to get Shuma back in safely to hit a “Free” Chaos D before time runs out; possibly setting up back to back Chaos D. Situations.

I don’t think it would be OP here are some reasons.

  • Chaos D. Can be avoided with good keep away so it’s not guaranteed.

  • Shuma could be killed as an assist character, essentially wasting 3 meters.

  • Raw tags have initial pose animation which eats at Shuma’s Chaos D time.

  • Chaos D animation eats at X- Factor time. (So back to back Chaos D in X-Factor is tricky)

Thoughts?

If we’re letting more characters store their hyper combo boosts, let Phoenix keep Healing Field to make using her as an assist slightly less suicidal. Healing Field is one of the only self-buff level 1 hyper combos that doesn’t persist while tagged out. At least with Healing Field you can still randomly kill Phoenix with a hyper combo.

In direct relation to Shuma-Gorath, it could work, but I’d rather see him get adjustments to his frame data and hitboxes before we start tinkering with his hyper combos. He needs that more than anything.

im definitely in agreement in buffing all shoryu, and anti air assist. The game is getting really monogamous watching spencers zip across horizontally with beam assist, or teleport characters using the same solutions i.e. zero hawkeye, spencer doom, vergil dante, drones etc. just think a invincible shoryu on come out stuffing everything thats predictable, and of course this balances out because they are able to get hit on the way down. but honestly assist are lacking in this game compared to mvc2

No we don’t need psylocke in every fucking game. Man it’s like people can’t live without a panic button.

well some. MvC2 had nothing quite like missiles.

Being able to SJ cancel pushbocks would be nice.

MVC2 never had to deal with missles and slow drones plus usable beam assist. Haggar js basically psylocke assist… People dont need gtfo assist they need to learn how to block.
