That guy at the Break was just your typical salty ass ranter. Never seen a salt shaker talk that much in my life. So he goes out to locals, cool. I could care less though since he doesn’t seem to know a lick of actual fighting game mechanics let alone the technical aspects of fighting games. So dumb, so dumb.
Adele’s Skyfall has been stuck in my head all day. Also, I swear, having a tender scalp while wanting to do shit with your hair has got to be the worst fucking thing ever. There are times when it feels like my eyes are being pulled out of the top of my head when something gets combed the wrong way.
Man, One Piece has some serious “Real Shit™” moments that make me forget its shounen I’m watching/reading here and there. That entire double arc, the Montblanc Norland backstory in Skypiea before it, Luffy vs. Crocodile in the anime (Hulkgasm)…
Funny thing is I don’t think I’ve caught an episode of the anime post mid-Marineford.
And this is why I love the OTT. Sense out of nowhere. One of these days, I really should go to Next Level and meet some new folks.
Real talk though, movement is so fucking important. I saw like an almost instant reversal in match outcomes once I learned how to move and what to move with (projectiles, assists) in this game. Still wouldn’t ever consider myself anything special since I’m a '12er (worse than an 09er, lol) and Marvel is my only (and first fighting) game at current, but nowadays, I’m just happy as fuck about my movement.
See that’s the thing. I dont think it’s fair to Chris G or to FChamp or anyone else who is good to go easy on someone. You have to be the guy that slams’em down and push a guy to keep playing and getting better. What’s so hard about asking someone for feedback?
I thought it was easy enough I taught my cousin everything he knows in SF4 and its made him a better player at every fighter he plays (He rapes me in marvel) and when we were done I’d point out everything he did wrong in SF4. I’d throw him a million times, now he rarely gets tossed. Did the same with a friend who does I GIVE NO FUCKS Dps at will, he hates throws and never throws, I threw him for eternity, I forced him to use throws. Now this motherfucker will walk up from full screen throw you, then uppercut randomly on your wake up afterwards just to fuck with you.
Hell another friend who was a complete scurb, I taught him to stop fucking jumping… by airthrowing him with Fuerte or Vega EVERY damn time he jumped stupidly. Now he almost never jumps unless its safe.
Its kind of plataeud me. but everyone else around me has gotten better (and I’m still the fucking villian somehow) but its worth it.
Go take your fucking licks. you wont get better otherwise.
EDIT:
now in mahvel. I asked my cousin after he spanked me. he replied immediatley “Stop being so damn defensive”
I asked Spab Rog for feedback in Sf4 after he watched me play and said “You have good mixups, just stop using them all when one is already working.”
People complaining about not going to tournaments or just a local because they’ll lose money? You seriously got to drop that attitude if you want to get better. Ask questions, ask for feedback, do anything that you think will get you better. Getting better at fighting games and just fighting games in general is an investment anyways.
Mech hasn’t checked the OTT in ages, he missed tons of last season. As soon as he comes back EVERYONE knows he’s back without him even posting because their alert feed goes nuts…
