UMvC3 OTT: Transformers used to be a Marvel co-property.. let that sink in for a minute

vergil is the easiest good character. everyone should know how to play him.

as in doom?

well, if you hit them raw you can use 2 assists, your combo used one.

a) you could use vergil assist for magneto combo, dhc, and use an extension that uses missiles
b) you could try to use both vergil and doom assist for the magneto combo

mostly because i dont see disruptor helping vergil do much
and you should definitely be using disruptor with vergil. sH + disruptor xx teleport is a dumb mixup. you can get out of it 100% of the time by doing a late pushblock but some will miss it. then you have light or medium attacks + disruptor xx teleport which might beat late pushblocks, but aren’t as tight so they can sometimes stick out a move or outmaneuver the mixup.

@phantasy okay i kinda get it. doesn’t shadyk use this team?

Why?

Nonetheless Vergil vs Dante is just a game of spacing. I’ve played that matchup enough to sorta understand what I need to do. Although I will admit, Vergil destroys my team if Dante dies. Dorm and Ammy don’t have good enough tools to deal with him.

You might be ‘dabes’, but he is THE Kaiten.

And the 7 in his name means he’s 7 times more of a real nigga than you.

Because I can’t stand Dorm >__>, I think I’ve learned to handle Dante enough with Weskrull but Dorm is forever my bane

idk who uses the team, it’s a good team, more people should be playing it, and there are already a handful that do.

if i were to play it, i’d prefer to play vergil point, but mag point works just as well. you can switch it back and forth for matchup purposes.

vergil point stuff to work on:
definitely learn vergil missiles extension (preferably mine since you can do it off a launch), although the one off of high time, call missiles and super immediately is the option off of helm breaker and throw.
length block stun setups with round trip, swords, and missiles, that lead into a teleport + disruptor mixup

when playing mag/vergil/doom, learn a vergil extension that leads into a tac into doom
mag to swords dhc for damage [you already got something going, but this is probably the easiest part!]

doom anchor i guess.

gonna go to bed, if you have more questions pm me i’ll see if i can answer.

double pelvic thrust FOOT DA FOOT DIVE.

Dante just has trouble dealing with upbacking (especially against Wekker) and unibeam keeps me from staying on the ground. Vergil may be my team’s kryptonite but taking away your beam opens up better ground options for me.

Nigga please. I’m the well known pervert.

Use Rapid Slash at the end of the Magneto combo and do my missiles extension with Vergil (it was in my what the hell capcom video). I don’t know what specific extensions you can do with Rapid Slash but I know that they exist, either way Vergil will be doing much more damage than Magneto at minimum scaling. You can also go watch the Magneto/Vergil/Amaterasu video I made if you want to see the Vergil part of it, in that video I was doing super jump Disruptor > Tempest though.

AM I THE ONLY PERSON IN THE FUCKING WORLD WHO THINKS WRITING WEINER 1000 TIMES IN CURSIVE IS FUNNY BC I CAN’T STOP LAUGHING

Only you Honzo only you

This is true, but we’ll see. Not like I know the real Vergil combos anyway

I haven’t played or practiced anything in like a week anyway

At what point did I complain about the games rewarding stealth? I complained about the games discouraging you from killing enemies. You can be stealthy and still kill enemies, but for some reason as of late you are penalized for it. Take the take down system for example in Deus-Ex, I can sneak up on someone and do a lethal or non-lethal take down, they both take the same amount of time, but for some reason I get fewer points for holding the button down and doing a lethal take down. Why would I ever do a lethal take down then? Why give me the option is all I’m saying. In dishonored, why does the Devouring Swarm ability exist if using it increases the likelihood of a bad ending? You are penalized for choosing an option given to you by the developers.

And how is trying to guide the player away from utilizing the entire sandbox given to them good game design? Imagine if you played Final Fantasy or something and got less exp for using magic, it’s literally the same thing.

These rewards/penalties exist in order to hide the failings of the developers. Dishonored for example would be way too easy if you just ran around stopping time and killed everyone, and rather than actually address that fact they create the illusion of choice. One of the biggest complaints in fact about these open ended games is that the perceived “choice” really doesn’t exist.

Not killing enemies is rewarded because it’s a lot freaking harder to not kill enemies. It’s also a lot more ‘stealth’ like to not kill enemies as opposed to just killing enemies very quietly. The whole point of stealth is to appear as if you were never there to begin with - when people start turning up dead, it’s kinda hard to say no one was there.

In DE:HR I never looked at lethal takedowns giving less a penalty, it’s simply not as rewarding partly because it’s easier. When you’re in the TV station for example, getting to the giant elevator is a lot harder non lethal, whereas in a lethal run you can simply turn the turret on the guards and wipe them out. Same as in the think tank right before the final level. Plus Adam Jensen has zero authority to do what he’s doing, he’s just the head of security with a shit load of augments. Killing is noisier in the game and probably a liability in the grand scheme of the universe.

Also in the final level, which I guess I won’t spoil despite the game being a year old the enemies are a lot harder to not kill than they are to simply mow down.

@AceKillah Damn man your behind with liking that post aren’t ya?

dont care what momo says.

plink dashing consistently in a game where one of the strat’s is to put a bunch of shit on the screen. is harder then it seems.

and before she reads this and say something condescending, im not that im saying dont learn it. lol.

its probaly just marvel. i know i can plink pretty well but this game’s timing is awkward on plinking fast.
