Fire Emblem, it’s a Strategy RPG series. A bit on the hard side but fun as hell
So I decided to get dishonored since it was on sale on steam. It’s pretty fun, but is anyone else tired of stealth games penalizing you for killing enemies? Deus Ex did this too and it just pisses me off. They give you all these cool abilities and weapons and then discourage you from using them.
Except Deus EX : HR didn’t really penalize you for it, at all. The lethal stuff is for people that can’t be assed to play the game the way the developers intended it, doesn’t mean they have to give you full points but they won’t prevent you from completing the game.
I can’t even buy more FGs. People keep quitting on me so I end up having to learn by myself and against randoms.

You get a huge amount of XP for not killing anyone. How does that not discourage you from killing enemies? And developing a game with an “intended” play style is bad game design. If they didn’t want you to use the lethal stuff they shouldn’t have included guns in the game at all. I loved all the upgrades for the assault rifle in the game, but only ever used the tranc gun and taser… yawn.
Ah yes. I know of Fire Emblem. I like the character illustrations. That game is quite unforgiving to say the least. Its hard having your team stay even.
What? You wanted it negative? Everything the Mayor does should be positive or neutral.
So I virtually never want to play Marvel 3 online. And then my gold runs out, and I find myself constantly wanting to play while I can’t. The fuck.
…what?
Doesn’t matter, Imdabes

Ya, I love those games.
The transition to 3D models was one of the ugliest movies FE could make as a series, ESPECIALLY for the handheld.
Sprites or go home.
also FE7 ughnnnnnn gatlike
same combo but i had to take out the music. what else is there can i do with these loops?

fix your internet already
after wallbounce out of corner -> round trip -> crH -> judgment cut L -> you can crH xx swords -> dp M [wait a tiny bit] round trip -> crH xx judgment cut L -> crH (can go into swords again or dp M)
also, use your other assist?
Because you get XP for killing enemies as well? You just get MORE XP for not killing anyone and being stealthy but that’s because 1) It is a stealth series, so stealth should be encouraged (and the game designed around it) 2) they didn’t even do shit to you for playing a lethal playthrough when the game is all about being discrete (there are no penalties). Which is a BIG con with a lot of these “stealth” games. Dishonored however does this better due to the chaos system, you want to not play stealth? The game is now harder.
How is that bad game design by ANY stretch of the imagination? That is GOOD game design (options = good, they add replay value, they allow for approaching the same situation in different ways). All games have an “intended” way to be played. This is the whole point of gameplay mechanics in the first place. Video games are literally a world with a set of rules where you have to abide by the rules to get from point A from point B. Some games just give you more freedom than others with said rules.
Batman AA and AC have stealth or you can go rambo (most of the time).
Assassin’s Creed series let’s you fight or flight at your leisure (again, most of the time).
Deus EX let’s you go full stealth, non-lethal, or lethal. Bosses don’t matter, you can go full lethal on them and blow them to bits even on a non-lethal playthrough.
Even something more pure stealth like Mark of the Ninja still has the option to be lethal but you are penalized heavily if you are caught.
You are taking a math test, the question is worth 100 points, you must show full work.
You only write down the correct answer.
You get 50 points.
Welcome to lethal gameplay in stealth games.
Eh it should be up tmw night. Doesn’t even matter really besides not being able to watch videos and shit. This Dante team isn’t ready for online and this 40hr work schedule + gym workout leaves me fucked up.
I don’t even see why I practice different teams. Kaiten is still the most fun. Fuck I’m thinking too much I NEED MOAR HENTAI

Well, at least you can rest in peace knowing you’ll have to use them on the jarringly-transitioned, outsourced boss fights that attempt to ape MGS but end up lingering like a stale fart.
It’s probably the only thing that annoyed me about DXHR (The original DX had no bosses. Pure stealth!). Regarding killing enemies, you can always do an asshole run and just shoot/typhoon everything. I might try that soon, actually. I will admit you get an itchy trigger finger just having a fully-upgraded shotgun sitting around in your inventory, but pulling it out only when you really need to use it is satisfying.
Or you can go full CoD/whatever and just gun everything. Nothing’s stopping you from using firepower on another runthrough of the game. Killing is easier; therefore, you get less of a reward in a stealth game for using it.
I haven’t played Dishonored, so I have no input on how stealth and direct combat were implemented there.
I’m gonna start playing Helm Breaker against team Kaiten instead of Tony >_______>
