Her footsie normals are not super top, but they are very good, it’s just the damage she gets off them is scary as hell. cMK xx HK Geyser does 400+ damage.
Her tag in damage is pretty average, but if your other character has a high enough launch you can do Ivory Cutter xx Arm Snap (1) for a standing reset.
In addittion she can ender her combos with Ivory Cutter which is a groundbounce/hard KD it gives you time for a free tag, or a super charge for CH. Plus lots of safe jump setups.
you play source?
anyways, i didn’t like the beta at all, grublet or duke are you guys getting CS:GO? i want to know so I can have some opinions before i decide to buy it.
Yeah that’s why I was thinking about Chun/Nina since I hear Chun has among the game’s best footsies and her fireball is apparently really good also. Plus once I tag into Nina I still get a character more focused on damage that still has strong footsies and mix up.
I haven’t been following the game at all since the first 2 months, but what makes her so good, and better than let us say Vega who can setup similar pressure with better footsies + buttons. Both those characters should’ve received significant buffs considering the amount of damage they get out of their pokes in this engine.
Speaking of SF4, I simply hate the current metagame and how the game turned out in the end. Current SF4 metagame is extremely guessing heavy and setup heavy which have much higher reward than footsies and zoning, characters like Seth/Cammy/Viper/Sakura who are dumb as fuck and simply don’t give 2 shits on whatever you are doing and can just jump at you and go ham with damage into other setups through any knockdown they get. I used to hate SF4, then started liking it in Super/start of AE, and now I hate a lot of the game and how it’s turned out to be a big clusterfuck of a guessing game with memorized setups and YOLO DPs. The game is still fun to play, but it has it’s fair share of problems, but again what fighting game doesn’t have it’s huge share of problems.
Chun-li’s footsies and pokes are much better than Vegas.
And Chun-Li has more than that, she has good frame traps, a slow but comboable overhead, good solo damage, solid comboable anti-air, legit throw game, best super in the game, SBK is great with tags.
Plus she has really good walk speed also which is important to have in stages that huge. I’m assuming Claw’s walk speed is good too though. Nina’s walk speed is probably good too yeah?
Vega has better pokes/footsies than Chun-Li in SF4 as he had better walkspeed and he was able to convert off of most of them into big damage where she didnt get much off of hers aside from the poke’s damage itself. Her pokes are stupid good though, if Vega couldnt cancel his she’d rape him 10-0…
In SFxT all that shit is out of the window coz any poke goes into damage, and his main damage is off of jump-ins or need EXs where she doesnt, so the advantage he had over her pokes is gone -_- plus they nerfed most of his pokes and made the Rolls unsafe on block…
Both of them are fuckin stupid in that game though so i guess it doesnt matter? Chun-Li is better though no doubt.
tbqh If i found a second character that I truly enjoyed using and had synergy with Vega I’d most likely still be playing SFxT, too bad anyone that I liked has like no synergy with Vega at all (Poison), got nerfed and I dont really like them anymore (Juri) or just suck and/or theyre not as fun as I was hoping they’d be (Asuka/Hugo/Alisa)
Vega/Jin miiight work i think, I just dont care enough to pop in the game and see what they do for each other… Its like, why do that when I can practice Ralf stun combos or Billy’s insane swag that I still havent gotten down yet? or even practice P4A eventhough that game is stupidly easy that apparently there’s no need for training mode after week 1 ~__~
I guess I can see your points on the rest with having a no CH juggle air to air and decent team synergy with SBK. But I’m still not buying footsies and pokes being better than Vegas where his buttons are faster and link and have better range and he has better walk speed than Chun(same forward walk speed, but Vega is fastest backwards walk speed), and can’t he do the same tag shenanigans with SBK with his rolling thing? Hazanshu and her other cross up flip kick are trash, and you can DP them and stuff them on reaction if you know the mu well enough.
As for EB, you can try checking out Steve, he has good synergy in the back for any zoning/footsie character since he adds decent damage and controls positioning while setting up raw tags back into the character, not to mention he got swag.
I think some of the concepts of the game are retarded, but as just a fighting game it’s alright if you look past all of the money train shit Capcom put in. I guess you couldn’t do any worse than SFIV as far as just lack of anything interesting gameplay wise. It’s just the gem, pandora system and cross assault thing really made the game look like another attempt from Capcom to just care more about money than the gameplay.
Luckily the gameplay itself IMO if you look past certain things is solid enough.
Granted they should have left him as he was in vanilla SF4. His stun damage on one rsf loop was enough to stun low stun chars like Viper. It made him a threat. As he is now its too many guesses to win with him and high risk low reward.
I think Alex could survive in sf4. His dash would save him. But his dive command normal that grabs and slow normal would make him focus bait. If his Bitch slap was his armor breaker though. oh my GOD he would rape with counter hit (armor crush) Bitch slap into free command grab for damage or command normal for headbutt for stun.
On sfxt. The players prepared themselves to not like the game.
The gems are fine. Even if I don’t have them they will be there for tourneys. not only that. But look at this site and we know what we have access to as well as optimized gem setups. that said. Assist gems should get banned.
There are indeed glitches and dumb shit but capcom has shown they wanna fix it. Clearly there was a rush. But the game does have potential.
The two change needed: 1) allow gem usage. Get over it. Its in the game. We all can use them. Exploit them like you would exploit anything in any game. Except assist gems. They’re insulting. 2) fix the timer. There is opportunity for big damage but as we see there is lots of timeouts. i love timeouts but i timeout by choice and because i prefer to grant you death by 1000 nicks and pick a person apart. A timeout shouldn’t come from "oh hey we’re brawl- why did time run out we just started?!
Extra: throw sponsors a curve ball. Go with the x in sfxt and make people from different sponsors / non sponsors play with each other in a team to mix it up. A gimmicky side tourney like that should be fun.
