UMvC3 Magneto Videos: Day minus[-] 3 Combo's

Learn to move around with him. Just mess around with his flight mode, airdashes, ground dashes, all of it. It is, TO ME, the most important thing when learning magneto.

After learning that is when you graduates from LMHS>MMHS combos :stuck_out_tongue:

Never settle for less with this guy. Heā€™s amazing only when you get rid of that ā€œkeep it simpleā€ mentality that works with other characters.

The first thing you should learn is simple tri-dash pressure and movement. Itā€™ll be really awkward at first unless you have experience with Storm, Doom, Thor, or Ironman, but it is really the core of Magnetoā€™s gameplay. None of the airdash characters are characters you can really halfass if you wanna be successful with them. Thereā€™s no point in learning sick combos if you canā€™t open people up. His tri-dash mixup is actually easier now that his addf dash got nerfed and the jL comes out faster for overheading.

After getting used to his movement, Iā€™m trying to get used to the simple ROM loops. Right now Iā€™m doing:
:s: uf :m: :h: addf :m: :h: flight :m: :h: ( addf :h: ) x4 :s:

Although Iā€™ve seen people not even including :m: 's in their combos and going with pure :h: 's. When I do that the opponent jumps out before flight. Any pointers?

Youā€™re talking about fly loops, not the ROM.

Try :s: sjuf :h: adf :m:, fly, :l::h: (addf :h:)x4 :s: or unfly if youā€™re in the corner and juggle with :h: to ground hypergrav

Can I get some notations for this combo, I think this is the best blast Loop out there.

^Air S, c.H, S, sju H, adf H, magnetic blast L, jump H, magnetic blast L, c.H, S, sju H, adf H, magnetic blast L, jump M, H, magnetic blast L, S, sju M, M, H, S. The magnetic blast should be L, but I donā€™t know for sure.

Magnetic Blast L works fine for that combo.

Thereā€™s a significant pause between the jH adf and the proceeding jH xxMagnetic Blast L on the third blast rep.

Also for anyone who still wants to use fly loops midscreen, I suggest they do cLMHS xxsj jH adf jH xxMagnetic Blast L, land, dash forward st.S xxsj jH xx Fly jLH [adf jH]x5 jS. Make sure the jH after the st.S is hitting right under the opponent so they wonā€™t fly so far away from you so that you can connect a jL. Does 480k - 506k so its comparable to some of the lower damage blast loops in case you havenā€™t adjusted.

I just think jH adf jM xxfly looks ugly :expressionless: .

Thatā€™s the problem with us Magneticians, if it doesnā€™t look good we canā€™t use it. Even if itā€™s effective.

Ninja Edit: Essentially itā€™s j.H addf H then the HMH air dash loop from vanilla going into the Hyper Grav loop. Itā€™s nothing really new, so it should be really easy for vanilla Magneto players to do and coupled with an OTG assist, you can combo into Magnetic Tempest outside of the corner. Otherwise, you can go straight from the Hyper Grav loop into Magnetic Tempest.

I never thought of OTGing midscreen, good find. I was using your team during Ultimateā€™s launch but I got too lazy to learn sword Ammy :[

I am pretty bad with Amaterasu, since I havenā€™t been getting many games in, but Cold Star is just such a good assist. Although Iā€™m thinking of maybe using Sentinelā€¦ Since Drones are also really good for Magneto/Doomā€¦

There truth to this, I didnā€™t do a lot of the Mag combos in MvC3 because the Blast Loops looked cooler lol.

After learning the Alioune loop, itā€™s hard to try doing anything else. I think Iā€™ve got it all perfected for the most part and Iā€™m starting to do it online. I do the first blast loop without any pauses, the second one with a slight pause in between jH and Magnetic Blast L so that the proceeding cr.H will connect, and the third rep needs a pause before you hit the second jH or else the blast wonā€™t connect.

I canā€™t seem to land the st.S sjxx jMMHS part if I start the combo with cLMHS though.

Fullscreen rom combo against multiple characters in this video, also what I think is the best corner combo for mags without assists. I donā€™t have the luxury of an OTG assist on my team.

So hereā€™s a random question. Anyone having fun with Heroes and Heralds cars with Magneto? I have been playing it for fun today and Ive been using some card that lets me dash cancel ground moves at the cost of a little bit of meter. Been doing cL - c.M - H - Dash Cancel - H - Dash Cancel - H - Dash Cancel - H - S - jM - jM - jH - Flight - jL - jM - jH - Dash Cancel - jH - Dash Cancel - jH - Dash Cancel - jH - jS -Land - Gravity Squeeze.
