If the Wesker nerfs are true, I will be a sad panda.
Capcom Unity stream currently broadcasting UMvC
Since I’m terrible at seeing differences (I gotta feel them), hopefully someone will be able to spot things
Edit: we’ve been trolled and they put Frank West on the stream and took off UMvC =(
I’m sure it’ll have rolling coverage throughout the day, so occasionally give it an eye.
There are a couple otehr things I wish somebody would check with cap - safe l charging star? or hyper charging star - doubt either one, but I’d like to know if they’re… SAFER. It looked visually like captain america has a lot less lag on his l charging star, but I could be seeing things.
White Spiderman costume! Awesome!
Just noticed something very strange on the stream, Dante calls Strider assist but Dante gets snapped out when Strider’s performing his move. Strider seamlessly takes over rather than flying back out and then back in o_0
Team Aerial Exchange did not need to be buffed.
but it did need to be different in order to actually make it a guess as opposed to most people just mashing s and spinning.
there should be specific rewards for specific directions if they planned on having it be a strategic part of the gameplay - meter is whatever on most teams, sure having one full meter is best but the option to LOSE a meter?
people aren’t talking about how much more of a nerf to phoenix that actually is. not only does it mean you can possibly lose your own hard earned meter, it also means that in order to SAVE that meter your opponent can down excahnge into huge dhcs and kill your other characters easier.
i like it well enough, i’m sure that’ll see huge use later.
i just wanna know what’s up with all my avengers characters though.
i hope cap says “avengers assemble” for any combination of avengers characters, and not just iron man/thor. Hulk and Hawkeye at very least should count!
-Arthur’s Goddess Bracelet projectile speed is definitely much faster. It seems like he’s not as safe on block as a result.
-Doom’s Laser Pistol has significantly less start-up (yay!)
-Photon Array projectiles travel faster
-Maybe just me, but Doom’s Plasma beam seems to have less start-up.
I don’t have a clue why people are complaining about TAC’s being buffed. No one ever does them in high level play. Maybe we’ll actually see them used now. If From what I hear, forward and back TAC’s cost a meter, but drains your opponent’s meter too. That means if Phoenix has 5 bars and you catch her in a combo, you have a 50% chance of killing her outright. She guesses forward when you hit back? She just lost a meter, can’t transform, and is now dead. That alone makes Phoenix extremely risky to use.
That still wouldn’t be that much of an issue if it wasn’t for the fact that she can only put one H shot in the air now. That’s the main nerf about her. Now characters with shitty air movement can actually contend with her. If she still had 3 H shots you still would be landing combos on her extremely rarely and they will always be mashing on forward tag regardless once they get 5 meters any way.
You mention forward and back TAC’s making you lose meter. Does that mean TAC’s are now a 4 way guess and you have to guess 2 ways for forward and back? I doubt that because that would make the TAC game way too random and not even worth guessing anymore.
In the end though this is Marvel and it’s an old school style game. When you get hit you get fucked up just like the old games and all TAC really does is give you a chance to mitigate how much you’re gonna get fucked up basically. You might as well try to escape but people will still be going for guaranteed damage into resets most of the time.
BTW really good shit on Doom’s projectiles getting buffed. I didn’t know what the hell Capcom was doing making those moves so awful slow. That’s part of why I put Doom in the back because in XF3 his projectiles are actually scary instead of just a small nuisance and I really like his assists too much to put him on point. Dante and X23 fit my play style more any way. Now I wont have to immediately turn on XF to scare people with his projectiles.
A faster Proton Cannon would be good but its not quite the change im really looking forward too.
this…make it down forward H or just remove it already…
Also I’m hoping he got some new tools to work with this time around. Maybe some EMP,repulsor rays (shooting lasers from his forearms)/shrapnel, mini tracking missiles…etc
If flame carpet now pushes the opponent really far, Dorm just got REALLY nasty! I can’t wait to try it out!
Wonder what Skrull changes there were as well.
looks like they kept the mechanics and buffed that annoyed me and most MvC player, Damage too high, TAC and X-factor
Regarding TACs, don’t forward and back count as the same input? You can still counter any side TAC whether you press forward or back couldn’t you? That’s what I thought it was supposed to be anyway…
Of all of those things at least XF is getting a time nerf so there will be less XF 1 killing off 2 people BS. I really hope they nerfed the time on XF3. That shit lasts too long.
The white Spiderman is based off Anti-venom.
Question to all the X-23 players: She has this move that looks like Berserker slash which doesn’t cross up. Has that move always been safe on block? It seems like it’s got some massive frame advantage. Just wondering if it’s always been like that.
On a side-note, her DP seems like it has less recovery, but still punishable.
And to all these guys asking for Iron Man buffs: No need to remove cr.H. Just make that thing cancelable, and watch how amazing it would be.
X Factor damage buff is now universal amongst the cast according to Seth Killian.
someone test out haggar and ask seth about him…ill give you money !
To be honest, I just assumed that was what they’re doing. Otherwise there’s no reason to guess anything other than side TAC if you’re trying to break a combo with a meter dependent team, and there’s no reason to try anything other than down TAC when you’re going for your combo. That would actually be a nerf to TAC in my eyes.
Say wha? I wonder how that’ll work out…
I’m assuming you’re asking about her neck slicer move?

9 minutes 50 seconds into the video.
If so that’s basically just her main high priority move she uses to get in. It puts a projectile around her body so it pretty much will beat most attacks clean. The charged version even stuffs Wolverine’s dive kick. The regular version only gives you frame advantage if you land it towards the very last active frames (space it sfar away from the opponent). The charged version is a much bigger threat because it pretty much beats all other physical attacks that aren’t invincible and as long as you hit it on a later active frame than the first you’ll get some serious frame advantage after. It’s a bit slow on start up but if you use it with an assist it can get you in pretty much for free. It’s mainly just a typical pressure tool that you can charge up and make nearly impenetrable with physical attacks.
Her M mirage feint gives her access to left right mix ups that are faster than Wolverine’s and set up combos the same way any way.
