UMvC3 List of C. Viper Changes

i want to agree on the whole seismo spamming becoming a lot easier but one major thing that has upset me is that her box loop tends to wiff in the corner.

I mean it still works mid screen but i’ve either had to delay the S and /sigh…

I actually haven’t had any issues with this. I’ve been doing the box loop in the corner just fine. I think I may have had to make a slight adjustment, but it wasn’t so much that I was whiffing all the time. I got it down pretty quick/easily.

lol @ “notasingleperson” liking my post

Box loop is fine for me as well, only thing I feel is different is that my opponent is higher in the air after the seismo. Doesn;t seem to change anything though.

Also Optic Blast plus Taskmaster arrows equals so much hate mail online :wgrin:

weird. i guess its character specific because i can land it on most of the cast except for taskmaster/racoon and a few others…

no worries, I’m not new to Viper…

This is Drew Grimey my main account is suspended until january, lol

For me doing the box loop with normal jump whiffed a couple times but not with sj
but like threesided said slight adjustment and all is good

i still suck at seizmo-ing ::sadface::

You can do some nasty things with air X-Factor now. Nasty.

Still working on the tech, but continuing combos after Burst Time is the most upfront example.

I been spending so much lab time just trying to learn legit ways to keep it charged and combo into it lol. Sadly it isn’t as easy as it is to hold a charge during combo like it is with Zero. But she’s got legit cancels into it with assist that can lead to level 1s or 3s (as if her level 3 did real damage anyway)

Even if you CAN combo into it, is it really damaging enough to be worth it?

TK feints are walls of free damage and gauge and on top of that are amazing hit confirms, she gets a lot out of Frank’s assist and the main issue with my current team of Viper/Frank/Dante is that jam session late combo only yields 2 seismos pre burn kick.

They really hit Meter gain hard in this game, and I mean HARD! I mean damn thus far I haven’t been able to use a EX.TK or Seismo in fear I won’t have enough meter to kill. This really hurt Viper in her defensive game imo.

@Chrisis: Isn’t 2 the norm? How many do you usually go for and what assist are you using with Frank?

Yeah, it’s annoying. I’ve pretty much decided to just use it as a meterless combo ender.

Also, Seismo > Strider Vajra assist > BK is a lot more difficult than I gave it credit for. I’ve changed the relaunch to something easier:

Call Vajra > Rapid seismo x2 > FADC > HS

Damage isn’t bad at all.

If you’re doing a box dash at the begin, an OTG assist relaunch in the middle, and a then OTGing at the end into Jam Session, that’s three. Which means that to get only two, you’d either have to drop the box loop, drop the assist relaunch, or hack the game to make JS OTG. D=

Oh I see, I keep forgetting I’m the only Viper here who doesn’t use Dante(yet), so I’m used to only doing two. But since were on the subject of Dante, how do you guys feel he works with Viper in Ultimate? Is he still worth learning now even though you can’t get his extended ender or is the damage just so minimal now that it really doesn’t matter if you use him or not?

Sorry for all the questions.

I would Like to say I also dont use Dante. =). I like Hidden Missiles from Dr. Doom alot better lol

Also how did you guys adjust your combo times for box loop. Now whenever I try to do a box loop after a magic series after tk fient they go up too high

Don’t worry about it, that’s what this thread is for.

Dante seems to work just fine. The combo ender seems meh, but I mean, it’s not even THAT much damage. Besides, it still works, it’s just a lot harder. Nothing practice won’t fix.

You can still do the awesome DHC into awesome damage with him after burst time, and the AA/lockdown properties of JS are still intact, which is really what makes JS such a big deal for vipes.

It’s pretty easy, just wait a little longer after the SJ to input your air dash. That way, you’ll dash into them higher, and meet them at the right height in the air. To be honest, it makes the box loop a lot easier overall. The timing’s just different.

I’m glad I’m not the only one having issues forming a team composition for viper

Viper/Doctor Strange/Wesker (bolts of whatever it’s called work really well)
Viper/Zero/Magneto
Viper/Doom/Wesker
Viper/Zero/Doom (I would recommend molecular shield or beam for doom, molecular shield can keep corner combos going pretty well, get mixups on the way in and put pressure full screen, beam would be really good for just going in and mixing up, decent keep away too)
Viper/Nova/Doom (Gravimetric pulse would be great to block projectiles)
Phoenix Wright/Viper/Magneto (can you imagine phoenix wright turn about mode with press the witness for assist for viper? Is your mouth watering?)
