UMvC3 List of C. Viper Changes

L is no shorter, I didn’t really get a chance to use optic blast. Nobody was using Akuma. ^.^

L is still probably also +1, it was a really under utilized move. Very good in strings, and a decent poke, it’s just that M was a much better poke.

I wonder if her optic blast move is going to help Viper play even more lame than she already can with seismos + AA assist. All depends on whether you can cancel in/out of that move with specials/EX/supers. Since it’s medium priority, I wonder if it can hit Akuma out of tatsu?

I’m most excited abou tall the new assist for that blind spot. You were pretty much forced into picking Dante or Doom if you wanted to cover that spot. The new assists and character to fill that roll will allow for more varied teams and strats. I think Viper with Hawkeye’s arrow rain assist could be super lame.

Charge with A and Seismo with B and C while using the FADC to throw in an arrow assist.

The optic blast might end up useful If you can cancel out of a seismo with it.

That’s been tested you can’t.

But since FADC is broken, it doesn’t matter.

Well that makes it pretty much the worst move in the game.
Oh well does not matter like you said FADC is still a better option

See, I don’t care if they buff viper… I DO care if they buff her with new easy stuff/make old stuff easier. The big appeal to her, at least for me, is that you get a special status when using her:

I play the hardest character in the game, and am good enough with her to actually do decently/good/amazingly. As a result, my potential with my main is massive.

With DHC glitch gone, HSD decreased for pretty much everyone except her, and these new TK feints… I’m just worried she’ll be easier to do decently with, and more people will start flocking to her… While I’m sure this is what Capcom wants, it’s the last thing I want. =\

Except you don’t play the hardest character in the game.

In Ultimate that will be Jill.

I still think Modok is the hardest character to play in Marvel.
MODOK just feels really strange for me. Jill does not feel as strange as MODOK does.
Why do you think she is so hard to play?

Umm… everything? Don’t get me wrong. MODOK is up there, but not as hard as Jill.

IMO Mad Beast XF3 Jill is the hardest character in the game to play. To play Viper perfectly is very hard, to play Viper well isn’t.

It’s not just mad beast you gotta be mad dextrous to even mount a feral crouch centered offence not to mention that her teleport has a bunch of very unique properties most people don’t untilise.

Also, her BnB is character specific.

If you aren’t using feral cancels constantly, your offense with Jill is probably pretty weak.

I play very basic for every character I play actually, but just work on figuring out where they’re fundamentally very strong. There are very few times you need something complex to make a character scary if you just understand their tools really well.

Well because a huge chunk of her moves come from a stance, and the stance itself is so important, with Jill it isn’t optional.

Feral stance isn’t optional, but just learning a lot of basic things about dash forward feral wait somersault, etc is very efficient despite being really really basic.

Well in this game every character is retarded simple if you boil them down that much.

Yeah Viper’s primary combo path pretty much works on every character in the game( I’am aware of EX TK passing right over Shuma and ammy as any regular viper player should be). I think that overall Viper is not as hard as people make her out to be, she does require work but she is not that hard. Although what Chrisis said is true about playing her perfectly, I can’t perform some of the new tech and I’ve been practicing forever (specifically viper ball and the Staircase loop).

So maybe your right about Jill. I have not played much jill so your probably the more qualified to say whether or not. Looking at your character choices in you like to punish yourself pretty hard with difficulty Iron man(shudders)

Well both Viper and MODOK are up there, off the top of my head the hardest characters to play in order (I’m probably forgetting someone):

Jill: ? I know nothing
Iron Man: Definetly, I did not know what people were talking about until I played him myself. His tri dash is garbage
MODOK: He is meant to played in a rushdown style but he is masked as a keepaway character. He has the weirdest set of normals in the game. His movement is also quite Awkward.
Viper: Not that bad but in order to be some what effective you need to master some combo techniques and less than average normal move. Playing at full potential takes an unbelievable amount of work.
Spiderman: Strange combos, I played so long with him in training mode and mastered his combos on still opponents but when the time came for a real match I was dropping combos like I never have before.
Chun li: Possible more difficult than viper. Immensly technical hardest jump cancel character I have ever played. Also not as much reward as viper.
Zero: I don’t think he is that hard can you elaborate
Dante: Yes times one thousand If you are talking advanced style Dante. Watching Chrisis made me try to pick Dante up but man He has got some hard stuff I am still thinking of putting him back on my team but I really like Amateratsu and here synergy with doom
