UMvC3 General Discussion: You can't control it

Man i got wrecked last night by a spencer made my spencer look like shit! I’m heading to the lab for the next week i need to step my game up :frowning:

If anything the reason why I love Hawkeye so much is because he reminds me of myself sometimes.

Might not look like it, but outside of this place I’m actually a huge douchebag. (It kind of depends on the people I’m around with, but if you’re close to me you’ll see that I’m full of myself.) I knew about Hawkeye before UMvC3, mind you, but never cared. When UMvC3 was announced, I saw Hawkeye and said “God damn this guy is fucking awesome”. Viewtiful Joe is another character who reminds me of myself, but I don’t like using the guy in this game. (Still use him time to time.)

Doom doesn’t match your team’s colors. Your team matches Doom’s colors.

Haggar should have stance switches: Bare Fist Stance and Pipe Stance. I need not explain the rest.

Mei-Ling costume is lazy in multiple ways. I’m going to post pictures of her pajamas costume on Unity and maybe in this thread with no accompanying text until it’s added.

I think it’s an interesting idea to make Hsien-Ko’s alt based on her sister, but it just looks so fugly and wrong. Feels like Hsien-ko is just playing dress up to look like her sister OH WAIT

EDIT: Now that I think about it…pajamas Hsien-Ko would be SO appropriate. It would fit with Hsien-Ko being so slow and lazy in this game.

lol what?

Deadpool at times. Enough said, unstable mind, crazy and wacky quirks, and the unusual ability to throw people off instantly (confusion).
Viewtiful Joe. Cause everyone wants to be a hero.
Taskmaster. Unusual ability to mimic others almost perfectly.

What Haggar also needs is a trash stance, where he throws high durability trash projectiles at you, all being different. (Trash can…knife…gang member…a shark…whatever you want)

Now that I think about it, Haggar would be a crazy stance character.

He already has this.

It starts now.

I just blame her poor showing on that she and her sister decided to switch roles in this game and Lin Lin is doing a terrible job.

Plus, it’s not cute anymore on Lin Lin. It just looks creepy.

They probably added this costume because… well, probably because there isn’t a whole lot to work with Darkstalkers, even Felicia they had to borrow the costume of a character from a completely different game… and I gotta admit, while I’ve never played Battle Circuit I think Yellow Iris is better than having Felicia with her black dress, because it stands out. The theme with DLC costumes in UMvC3 is mostly based on canon stuff from the characters’ series, if someone hasn’t changed, then just make a costume based off of another character. I think Mei-Ling is a good choice to be honest, even though it seems simplified for the most part.

Now since I touched on the subject of matching personality with characters, might as well do one about myself too, besides of Vergil:

Phoenix Wright: Sometimes I’m silly, serious and confident at the same time… and sometimes I have a really good memory.

Frank West/Spiderman: I like making fun of something/making jokes when I’m on a dangerous situation.

Ironman: Robert Downey Jr’s Ironman matches my personality more. I don’t really show facial expressions during conversations.

This is a valid point. Well it comes down to like three basic points: Aesthetics, Personality, and Utility, when you’re asking why a character is chosen. When I was younger and played a bit of MvC2, I picked Strider and Jin solely because they looked awesome, and my selection of Strider still stands today.
Spider-Man I liked for everything. I liked how he wasn’t an old rich guy who had everything or was some superpowered alien from another planet, but a real kid who had this amazing opportunity bestowed upon him and he decided to use those powers for good. I actually used to want to study biochemistry (Which is what Peter Parker studied) because the whole idea about genetic manipulation intrigued me and comic lore was what introduced that to me. Besides that, Spider-Man is humble, witty, and he feels the same feelings that the “average Joe” would feel., instead of being this dude who’s got everything and worries about nothing, like Iron Man.
The fact that I like fast characters also factors into my selection of Strider and Spidey, and also Deadpool who I’ll explain now.
Back when I used to construct signatures for fun for myself and others on a forum not unlike SRK, I stumbled across a render of a very intriguing looking character… lo and behold, Deadpool. I didn’t know who he was then but I looked him up and he was such a funny character, like Spidey he had a quick wit and he was also dangerous. I didn’t like how he was portrayed in X-Men Origins though (Hell, who did?)

old sig i made of Deadpool

I actually do think Vergil is cool, but I don’t use him. He has that sort of “I’m badass and I know it, so don’t fuck with me” attitude.
To describe myself a bit so you can get a picture of my personality compared to who I choose, I’m rather talkative around company I’d like to be the center of, like my friends, but I’m quiet if I’m around people I don’t know, or with my family because my sisters, who are of the same personality, are the ones who control the talking there ahaha, unless I’m around my cousins, who are like my brothers and I always try to make them laugh with what I say. I like to make jokes at others’ expense, and I’m considered by people to be “blunt” because I always say things very straight-up.

Interesting post you did, and I agree with you.

About your last paragraph, while I said I’m more like Vergil and other characters, I’m a person who likes to help and be comprehensive, but I’m really shy with almost everyone, believe me, if SRK had its members on a stream, then I wouldn’t even go there and say what I’ve posted on this website, I’m just really shy, unsure of myself and just completely and utterly uncapable of not being afraid of being in front of a stream and talk to thousands of people. Really, while I don’t speak for everyone, I pretty sure I can say that I’m the most shy person around here, but that’s if you get to know me outside of this website.

I’m teaching some friends of mine to play this game in a more competitive way like I mentioned early, and I answer their questions, what characters they’d like to play, and so on. I find this experience to be not only great, but it’s also unique. This might have been a little off-topic from your post, but I think this was quite necessary for me to say here.

I mained Tron in vanilla because I was quite similar to her. Then she became bad in Ultimate and I’m not bad at anything so I dropped her like a bad habit.

I don’t get what has more suddenly so bad that you would stop maining her. By main, I’m guessing u mean play on point. She’s bad on point in both games, unless I’m missing something that made her a lot worse. I would think the tech throw change would be a huge buff to her.

Lariat got nerfed.

Scarface Frank. White Chun. Future Foundation Doom.

Looks real classy, if you ask me.

I feel as though I play Dante and Dorm bc they’re something im not. Like Dante is a badass that most people wish they could be and whether he knows it or not, badass+idc attitude= bitches. Unlike me whos very boring and hasnt had a girl in two years. Dorm bc he wants to take over the world and is the only villain ive ever liked (you aint shit Wesker) besides Itachi in Naruto. Im a nice person but I think people try to take advantage of that and if I ever turned “evil” id definitely wanna have powers like Dorm.

She wasn’t that bad on point in Vanilla. She had good damaging combos that could all lead into DHC glitch and when backed with the right assists getting in was easy enough.

Not to mention her combos built most of the meter she needed.

Now HSD kills her combos, meter gain nerf kills her ability as a battery, j.H nerf kills her hitconfirming and midscreen combos, damage scaling from drills kills her damage, no DHC glitch and no decent assists kills her utility. There’s literally no reason to use Tron unless you’re a diehard-character-loyal fan, because unless new tech is found she’s pretty much the worst character in the game.

Whoops, in my previous post I meant she wasn’t bad in vanilla. My bad.
