UMvC3 Forum Off-Topic thread. You down with OTT?

I felt Persona 3 was better than 4 personally

‘X-MEN: COTA 2’ to be revealed at captivate!

but i doubt it…

I don’t say goodnight, I put naked women instead.

And for those who want to play Persona Mayo and are lazy to play a 80 hours game, just watch the anime.

Damn and Hwoarang has my personality. Maybe if my sister lets me play her 360 on like saturdays or some ish I’ll get it. AFAIK she just uses my Netflix and plays Tomb Raider (fraudulently)

Seriously though Ace is as big a perv as me. He just hides it well. But then we’d have to play Tekken 6 to play Hwoarang vs Steve to see who gets Poison.

Wait, I dont get it. Are you just looking for a FG different from Marvel or…?

What didnt you like about Queen’s blade?

Havent watched it yet except for two episodes (I do feel as though the sex appeal was a bit over the top though)

Yes and I do have interest in SFxT, I just don’t know if I want to get it based on what I said. I don’t really want to get BBCSEX and have no one to play with I know, plus I’d rather just wait for Guilty Gear and get stomped in that anyway. Adding to that SFxT is fresh so while it shares elements of SFIV it’s a new system nearly everyone has to learn so there’s no curve to be behind on.

Also I will say I envy those that already have specific teams in mind for SFxT, there’s so many characters I want to try out if/when I get it I dunno where to start:

Poison
Juri
Lili
King
Bison
Asuka
Vega
Rolento (people are already saying he’s broken o_O)
Yoshimitsu
Cammy
Nina
Kazuya

and almost every DLC character intrigues me too

Well really I suggest just picking up a FG on PSN that appeals to you. I hate having to play catch up for FGs but if you like it there’s no reason not to play it. I bought Arcana Heart 3 and even though I could literally see the skill difference in some matches I liked learning a completely new game and seeing how my FG knowledge transferred. Hell I suck at KoF but when I had the demo I beat a few people just by doing simple punishes (99% of the time, if a move looks like a DP move, it’s unsafe).

Im actually tryna learn a few other games (or atleast one) and Im trying to stop jumping so much (Marvel habit). And I suggest buying a game on PSN because:

  1. They’re usually cheaper so if you dont like it atleast you didnt spend 60 on them (or however much they are up there)
  2. if the game is on your HDD, you’re more likely to practice it from time to time because you just switch to it without having to swap discs. I noticed I dont practice KoF much because I hate having to switch discs then when someone wants to play UMvC3 or I want to play, I have to switch the game again. And when we’re done I dont want to have to change the game again so I just end up doing something else

Huh, apparently the Japanese VA for Mitsuru (at least in P3, idk if it’s the same for Arena) is also the VA for Morrigan
<3

It would be too much to ask for them to regroup the English Voice Actors, and make the game so you can pick the voice for your characters.

I’d just put Troy Baker, though.

:lovin: mained

Can’t remember how I came across this but there’s a pretty good FG related web comic. You guys should read it.

I dunno how the “synergy” works in SFxT so I don’t know what team I’m going to play. I’ll probably definitely play Lili though. I don’t think I’ll play Ibuki.

I have AH3 and MvC2 I just never bothered learning them, they’re more for mindless fun. Like I said my concerns with SFxT stem more from how we all get duped with Vanilla.

Haven’t played 4, even though I ‘have’ it (sadly can’t play it cause my laptop is poopy) and it’s the undub anyway. My P3Portable is the undub too.

But I do love Troy Baker

Why are there no clips on Shin-Chan on youtube?

From what I’ve seen, there doesnt seem to be any synergy needed. Bounces dont seem to have a limit so it seems more like just picking your two favorite characters and going at it. I think that sucks but at the same time it means you wont need a specific partner for your character to be viable

No there’s synergy of sorts, Max talked about it in one of his SFxT videos. Due to the heavy scaling on tag combos it’s better to start with certain characters than others, also I’m sure the point character battery concept will apply in this game as well to a degree. I also assume people will discover certain characters have better tag follow ups than others.

i have interest in SFxT but I think i’ll wait awhile till I get it, expenses, college.etc
however
Law and Akuma
that’s my team and i’m sticking to it. For one thing the game looks faster paced than SFIV, so that’s half the buy right there

It doesn’t have Roger.Jr, hype - 1,
how am I supposed to make Kuma vs Roger.Jr bestality jokes while playing. >_<

Anyways I am looking forward to get sfxt,kof13,scV & maybe ME3 once my le bastard exams end, I hope you people buy sfxt so that I have decent people to play with it.

wait, I forgot dmc hd collection,
I am gonna dieeeeeeeeee

I take that back, you can live on 1 kidney, cool B)

But see, this is what I was talking about before. Combos scale to ridiculously bad dmg so IMO tag combos should only be used for safe switching (they do cost a bar). I mean, of course there’s the basic team building stuff (not sure how health is handled in this game but things like picking two low health characters would be bad for example) but to me it seems that any character can put their opponent in a juggle state which is what most tag combos need. I dont see having a good power character in the back as a good thing because sooner or later they’ll be on point and then do you switch back out just for better combos or use them?

As DJ said, I see the game as more like SF in the sense that you’re just supposed to do short combos for good damage instead of long flashy ones. Because of this, the only time your partner really is a concern is during switch combos and Cross arts. However the former isnt as important since if your neutral game is good, the dmg of your switch combo doesnt have to be great (like playing Strider). Batteries are only needed for characters who cant build meter themselves but you build meter off just about anything (even whiffing attacks) so I dont see that as to big of a problem

tl;dr As long as you’re good, overall dmg isnt THAT big of a factor

I’m not considering SFxT until I hear about the DLC characters (supposedly at Captivate, which IIRC is April 2nd). I just hope they’re not going to say “Hey you have to wait until November LOL”.
