fundamentals is the reason Dr. Sub Zero made top 4 on Cross Assault lol. he admits he’s ass at the game but he’s still in there because his solid 3s fundamentals still carry over. dude’s still probably the best and most consistent at anti-airing out of all the contestants. footsies are still really good. just sucks that he didn’t play enough SF4 since that would’ve really boosted his performance from the get-go.
Skullgirls gameplay-wise looks just like GayGreen. And I hate GayGreen.
Well I think SFxT is going to be at least in some ways different from SFIV the only way you get better is playing the game. I mean Vaille himself talked about treating Street Fighter like a job in his younger years and that’s how he got to the level he is at. Now I’m not recommending you devote that kind of time to do it, but it takes time nonetheless. Vanilla was the game I semi took seriously and I didn’t really take it seriously the way I thought I was in hindsight. In the summer I was playing SFIV off nothing but instincts and basic knowledge doing decent (probably awful at a tournament level), but I learned as I went. I don’t consider myself that great at the game, but pretty much my join date here is the starting point of taking things up to a level I consider serious for a fighting game and just looking back at how awful (yet having oblivious fun nonetheless) at older fighting games makes me laugh. You’re not going to find the fundamentals you need to get good at a game as slow as Street Fighter in Marvel, but at the same time if the game doesn’t interest you anyway there’s really no big deal in it anyway. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to be the next Jwong, Daigo, Vaille, etc but holding yourself exclusively to that standard knowing how much time (their lives) they’ve put into fighting games is not the way to go about things for yourself.
Okay, I’m a bit late.
When I was younger I was Cornstarch.
Later that became Corn.
Later later changed it to El Maiz.
Laterlaterlater I also sometimes am Zyzzyv.
This is because I tried to do Zyzzyva
But it was taken
So I amputated the "a"
And then other sometimes I’m ġeolurēad.
That’s what people used to call the color orange.
It was actually named after the fruit, not the other way around.
I really doubt that I’ll ever get Sf X T. A part of me wants to get SSF4, but after hearing all the bs and whining in that game, I feel that I might be better off avoiding it entirely. As far as SF x T, I’ll wait until the “Ultimate” version comes out, someone buys me a copy, or once the price divebombs. Yeah fuck you Capcom.
think I’m gonna have a hell of a lot more fun with P4A honestly. it’s a nice change of pace especially when you’re gonna be playing something that’s NOT half-assed by Capcom. and besides, it’s Persona. I fuckin’ love that shit. Persona + FGs = a match made in heaven. just sucks that I have to wait for it, but there’s always the option of importing the JPN version unless they patch shit like they did with JPN TvC to USA TvC. really hope they tone down Kanji’s damage because he’s looking pretty top tier.
shit, I am not gonna read all these new 27 pages,
dammit >_>
/lurks

BUT!.. BUT!.. IT’S!..
…You know what, forget it. Knowing you, chances are you’ll still want to smash that ass regardless of it’s gender, so whatever man, you may continue…
i might get p4…i never played the rpg but it might b a good game
I wouldn’t call SFxT half assed actually, yeah a lot of the character models are reused and theres planned DLC down the line, but Capcom seems to have actually put in quite a bit of effort this time around unlike say, Vanilla MVC3.
- A new net code said to be an improvement over the one used in the SF4 series which is generally seen as very good (it’s a damn sight better than Marvel’s net code at least).
- All the online features that the Street fighter 4 series had plus more for example the online training mode.
- Arcade mode is actually very fully featured this time around with some great rival battles and endings that are really damn good for once which are all fully CGI.
- A proper tutorial mode instructed by DAN FUCKIN’ HIBIKI rather than just trials, although the game has those as well
- Gem system may be linited in properties (although this does make them easier to keep balanced), but are varied enough to allow players to create a lot of different custom loadouts for the game’s characters, creating an idea of individuality between players and enhancing the overall depth of gameplay.
- A colour edit mode which admittedly is very limited right now but more colors will be added for free in the future, allowing for greater customisation and individuality between players.
- Scramble mode, which is a great mode for casual gameplay or at parties and is fun in it’s level of insanity.
- A huge roster with 12 extra characters being added later on, giving it the largest cast of any Capcom fighting game sans Marvel vs Capcom 2 by a small amount.
I think Overall that Capcom for once has actually put a lot of effort into the game this time around.
Persona 4 Arena is going to be fucking awesome as well though and honestly I don’t see that much of a problem with Kanji, he looks strong right now yes but remember Tager and Vanilla Sentinel looked really good as well at first until players learnt how to fight them so whether or not he is truly overpowered is something we should wait a while for now and later on in time decide whether or not a nerf is warranted.
^I dunno about you and it’s as weeaboo as you’d think it is (the RPG) but the gameplay and story kicks Final Fantasy’s lame ass errday. that’s all I’m gonna say. plus if you like that Pokemon catch-'em-all shit you’ll love the collectibility aspect of the Persona games in general.
also, I am going to be sincerely pissed if Akihiko turns out to be low-tier seeing as I kind of don’t wanna play mid/low-tier characters anymore. lol.
fair enough. I know this is Day 1 syndrome all over again where “noooo Sentinel’s too strong” or “nooo why is Zero so weak Q_Q” (<---- I bet these people are shooting themselves in the foot right now) and it’s the same for Kanji I guess. the zoning characters haven’t even gotten their zoning shit down and once they do that, I think Kanji players will have a harder time getting in. I don’t know if it’s due to negative penalty or stuff like that, but yeah. people on streams haven’t exactly been playing the RPS-mentality “x beats y” so “keepaway beats rushdown”.
- I’m playing for Strange so as far as I’m concerned, it is a Strange team, not a Dante or Doom team.
- I suck at Marvel 2 'cause I’m still learning it so I make Mags, Storm, and Psylocke look like Roll tier.
you still have dante and doom lol
i understand mvc2 one tho. i hard as hell fighting ppl who been playing this for 12 freaking years
hey, honestly I was just thinking for good assists and DHC synergy with Strange in mind and it’s just a coincidence I happened to bring along two top-tier characters for the ride.
but seriously though, Strange/Dante/Doom has such good synergy. call me out for picking top tiers when I say “I play mid/low-tier” but c’mon guys. my character does not have a fucking air dash. an extremely powerful sorcerer with the CLOAK OF LEVITATION WHICH LETS THE WEARER FLY AT RIDICULOUS SPEEDS does not have an airdash.
that shit still gets me saltier than Dark Wesker reverse-OCVs. real talk.
SF X Tekken isn’t bad.
The gems barely make an impact (so far) i haven’t played online.
The only character im used to is juri, i kinda want to pick up bison to compliment her now.
then again i’ve only used like 8.
I want to use poison and hugo clearly.
persona 4 fighter is going to be fun too.
i think if you like fighting games and have money youre going to end 2012 with about 4 new fighters. all of them have some sort of appeal. i have 2 of the 4 i wanted already. (kof and persona left)
Since we’re on the subject of Persona, how is it? I’ve been looking at trying it but I think my laptop is too shitty to run the “PC” versions of 3 and 4, and I heard P3 is the best in the series.
I need to pick up SFxT asap… wait too long to pick up an FG, it can be a pita to catch up.
In case you guys want to see the all endings of Street Fighter X Tekken sans bonus characters here you go.

persona 3 and 4 are the best in the series.
persona 2 innocent sin and eternal punishment arent bad either, just different. the characters are just as if not more interesting.
4 outdoes 3 for the whole game but 3 has a better ending and final boss.
3 portable and FES are the best edition of 3
4 the golden will be the best version of 4.
if you like rpgs they are two of the best of the last 3-4 years.
