Thanos is actually pretty heavily requested hes generally in the Overall top 10-15 on all forums and of all the marvel characters I believe he has the highest chance of actually making the roster along with Ms. Marvel. As far as the capcom side is concerned you left out the star of the show… ASURA!!!
He was cut out of vanilla during development with Frank, who actually did make it in for UMvC3. Combine that hype with the lack of Spider-Man villans and you will see how many niches he fills.
I thought about Asura, but then what if his game actually sucks? That would make people angry for buying such a hyped up character. I’ll wait to pass judgement on Asura until his reviews come in.

From what I heard, his name was just being used as a placeholder on some files. And there are so many better and more relevant Spiderman villains that could be put in.
A slight glimmer of hope for Jin Saotome, Cyberbots was released on PSN. At least that ensures that the character is not forgotten.
Why I want Jin? I loved how he played in MvC2. He was practically bottom tier but I loved playing him. I played him long before I knew anything about competitive play but even afterwards my opinion didn’t change. People want the characters they want, there really isn’t much more to it than that. I don’t care where he ends up tier wise just as long as he can survive in competitive play.
But I wanted Dan in… 
On to things that may actually happen though for Capcom I would be more than happy for the inclusion of Gene for DLC as well as Asura (even if his game turns out to be bad, which I am praying it doesn’t) and a version of Megaman with a retooled moveset (to keep the fans happy as well as create a unique style of gameplay for the character) .
On the Marvel side I would like to see Thanos get in as he seems to have a large fanbase as well as relevance in modern comics, although he should be retooled from MVC2 due to occurences in the comics leading to him losing his gauntlet (sadly this means no more bubble parties) as for the rest of the marvel side I really couldn’t care less and just hope that they are creative in their gameplay, not chosen for idiotic reasons and are just overall fun to play. 
You clipped out the latter part of my post where I basically agreed with you, and said they should have suggested Anti-Venom, either Capcom to shut up the poll results, or Marvel to shut up everyone’s Brock requests. They promote a current character that has a benefit for them outside of this game, and could draw further attention to Spider-Man or Anti-Venom products. Leave the 90’s behind, sure, and pack it full of Avengers for the upcoming movie. That doesn’t mean they can’t have compromise characters.
The point of my argument was **not **to include Brock Venom, but to include a relevant, adequate replacement.

I am actually not all that familiar with Anti-Venom at this point and unsure how much of a push he’s getting from Marvel at this time. This probably disqualifies me from giving any further comment about him, other than feeling that if he’s current, is close enough to what the voters wanted out of Brock-Venom, and would add interesting things to UMvC3 then I am all for his inclusion. That’s a lot of broad and vague tolerance rather than informed support, however… maybe I should seek out more info on Marvel’s current products if I’m going to comment any further on this sort of stuff.
In any case, sorry for overlooking part of what you had to say. I didn’t mean to, and I’ll be more mindful of it in the future. Thanks for speaking up!

Yeah, I’ve read every issue so far, and I don’t feel like she really adds anything to the story. She’s just so unbelievably bland.
maybe u just dont like her as a character? her presence in x-force has sprung up great dynamics between the team… fantomex/archangel love triangle, not killing the kid apocalypse, revenge killin the reavers and now becoming ‘Death’…

Actually, Cable is returning in Avengers: X-Sanction.
Still, he might be unlikely since Marvel doesn’t want Capcom to use too many X-men, which is why Ultimate didn’t have any. But Who knows?

Pretty much this. Last time they said that MVC3 was built with DLC in mind and we had DLC characters right away. Many people did not like this, many also do not like that we are getting a disc for UMvC3 so announcing DLC characters now would be telling everyone not to buy the game.
Nice to see Emma Frost made the top few requests. I would love to see her punching people in the face with diamond fists and just being a total bitch to everyone in general. The convos between Emma and Phoenix could have been epic.

Since the Vergil color brought up a bunch of comments, why do people think dimitri would add anything interesting to the game? He’s like a less interesting shoto than Morrigan and the move people love, midnight embrace, has absolutely 0 chance of being in the game.
People just want characters they actually like personality-wise in the game. Nothing wrong with that.
