Hell Yeah! Asura FTW!!!

NINA FOR DLC!!
Sorry. BoF fan. Even though it’s a dead a franchise, it was awesome at the time.
Plus I wonder if she ever decided to be in the game, what version would she be? BoF 1 Nina was a healing character with a rapier (finally a heal-assist) or would she be like BoF 2 and 3 where she’s of more an attack mage or a combination of both? She would be Capcom’s answer to Dr. Strange and Dormammu. IMO
And hello? She has wings!! n_n

BOF characters sound cool.
Oh, are there any good Zero/Strider vids yet, like from gamescon or NYC Fight club? I would love to see some good matches of Strider with Zero, Dante, Task or X-23.
Hold It! (Not quite an OBJECTION!, admittedly)
Witness, are you certain BoF is dead? Capcom has been rolling out a lot of content related to older BoF releases lately, especially on PSN. There has also been some popular rumor they’re at least looking at the prospect of a new game in the series. Granted, that’s just rumor… but rumors get started because enough people find the idea plausible, even if it’s not proven true (or true just yet).
Calling it a ‘dead franchise’ seems a little too conclusive in light of those things. Capcom may be gearing up for something with it yet, and I would hate to think people might go into any possible run-off polls (not sure if Capcom Unity is having one at this point) thinking BoF is ‘dead.’ It’s not high-activity like Resident Evil, but Capcom’s clearly looking at it really carefully and thinking “Can we do something with this?” Maybe they will, maybe they won’t, but it appears to at least be on their radar.
At any rate, the rest of your post shows other possibilities we could get with Nina. Any version we get, UMvC3’s roster variety wins.
about MMX, they’re right that we wouldn’t like the model. The one official MMX 3d model I"ve seen is horrible and penisheaded.
So many things they could do to make it not suck ass.
If you’re talking about X8’s then I agree. However, X7 may have been a terrible game, but the models were far superior.
Though TBH I really don’t like a some of MvC3’s models (kind of a step down from TvC IMO); Zero’s hair looks so synthetic it’s not even funny. X as a design is pretty simple, so I can’t picture Capcom messing that up, but yeah.
Yeah, it’s not too bad of a model for X.
The one thing I would be only slightly concerned about, if X makes it in, is his personality. If he’s gonna bitch every time he has to fight someone (basically, when whiny X came about… mostly from X7), then that would just suck. I mean, if he’s in the game and all, then great… good. But if they give him X7’s personality (wahh, I don’t want to fight, wahhh clear 2 boss stages then I’ll become a selectable character wahhh), then it would just be slightly disappointing.
Still, any version of Megaman (except for Star Force), is fine with me. I was just always more of a fan of the X games than any other series, so I lean towards X’s inclusion, but whatever happens, happens.
It isn’t a character DLC thread without 3 pages of megaman arguing.
All the marvel characters being added are awesome. Movie or not. Just cause they aren’t your MvC2, 90’s X-men (and venom) doesn’t mean you shouldn’t give them a chance. Nostalgia is usually incredibly shitty anyway.
Yeah, that’s something that only really stood out in X7. X needs his Command Mission attitude, where he points his buster at anyone suspicious. That armor would make a neat alt costume, too.
So you’re just saying it’s not dead because they’re releasing old ones onto a new platform? I meant there hasn’t been any NEW BoF since BoF Quarter. Which is like 02’ (03 in US) and that was for PS2. Releasing older versions doesn’t really make it alive. Instead of beating on a dead horse, they’re just trying to keep it alive by using shock panels.
Having a character from BoF onto a new franchise (Oh say UMVC3) will definitely keep it alive and going and possibly having a new BoF in the long run.
So I guess you can say it’s half-alive (instead of half-dead for optimism), rather dead. So I apologize on **my **part for calling it a dead franchise.
Yeah, that’s… actually a large chunk of my argument. “They’re doing stuff with the series again, even if it mostly just peddling the old goods.” That’s more than they’re doing for a lot of their franchises these days. Plus the rumors of a possible new game in the series seem widespread enough that I bet Capcom’s at least paying attention. In no way would I suggest this makes Breath of Fire a super-active franchise like SF, RE, etc., but they’re doing something with it, and people are making noise. If fans continue to spread the word, share these games with friends, and so on, then something good could come of it.
this aint an rpg/dissidia game
i think we all know that if capcom really are planning DLC for this, then X is for sure one of the characters. Theyll probably just make him cost 1400 points or something like that ha ha.
what i wouldnt give for an online enabled XBLA version of the powerstone series. Id even take powerstone 2 even though i reckon 1 is the superior game.
Memories of Cloud Strife in Dissidia are flooding my mind now. Thanks.
I do not work for Capcom but If they do decide to add Downloadable characters then they will almost certainly be. Megaman X, Asura, Gene, Tessa. I wont even guess at the marvel side… I have my guesses but marvel seems to be infatuated with the avengers at the moment. Ms Marvel,Thanos anyone?
You know, I would be fine with Thanos being Tessa’s reveal partner. They kind of fit aesthetically.
I think the thing that irritates me the most about Capcom’s treatment of Mega Man would be that despite canceling his two recent projects and excluding the character from MvC3 using incredibly weak reasons, *they still continue to pimp his merchandise by the truckload. *
Seriously, either support the character or don’t. It is pretty insulting.*
