UMvC3 Deadpool Changes?

yeah, i think they should make this activate on contact at the very least

the teleport news sounds great. I can imagine doing an H quick work followed by H arrows from Taskmaster just to get close, and then teleport canceling behind them at the last second of the quick work and confirming off arrows. so awesome.

Same team here Fire and Cyg. With an occasional Hulk. I am trying to learn Magnus. You think he would mesh well with Deadpool?

You know you can follow-up the lvl3 with a wavedash-> katana-rama-> whatever you want, right?

I have been watching him carefully, he has barely changed. Still blows up and takes damage, quick works look unchanged and apparently he can cancel his specials into teleport which can now have full screen combos with gun shot into warp.

I hope he has some damage changes in his moves atleast

yea you can do that, at the same time once you otg someone with katana rama you are very limited to what you can do next leading that combo either to a quick work - hyper or do an air combo and go for the air hyper when they hit the ground

He still deals the same amount of damage too, which is weird because damage was all around increased/health was all around reduced. Also, his guns are a lil faster. Not a huge buff but actually helpful.

ah i see. I hate this one combo 80% - 100% health is dealt to a character. I hope they don’t stick with this plan, I mean I know they want casual players to have a chance but it seems like they are making the game centered more for them now. I heard about the guns being faster which is great. His health is pretty much the same isn’t it?

I was just responding to someone saying 400k isn’t good damage for a lvl3… I think 400K+ a short combo and a potential mixup is worth 3 bars if you can pull it off (pulling it off is the hard part).

I think this is pretty good, actually. Who else can get a full combo off of a full-screen, hit-confirmable projectile? Also, maybe you can get some crazy mixup shenanigans, like overhead, cancelled into quickwork, cancelled into teleport? Gah, I wanna play ultimate right now =(.

lol yea, other than deadpool you have wesker who can only hit confirm a projectile at far distance. Well the good thing is, even though he hasn’t changed much excluding dhc glitch. His bad and general full roster match-ups are only getting easier.

I hope that if you input RDP S, it’s an automatic teleport malfunction.
And that his teleport fail puts them into an air combo end state, without knocking them up, because then you could get more damage off of OTG-HHT.

Not a lot of Deadpool action in this video but it shows a player testing him out at Gamescom and his ability to special cancel into Teleport at 0:10 and 0:18 of the video.

quick work xx teleport gives me many ideas for combos.

if they made it so his teleport would backfire on him i’d be very happy. but i doubt that will change since it happens at times in the comic…

actually… after some thinking… especially since the DHC is gone, it’d be cool if his counter special was NOT lvl 3 but lvl 1 instead. they make his sword special lvl 3 with 400-440 damage. as cool as the sword special was, i never really used it unless doing DHC combo glitch (which is now gone) because the damage scaling ruined the damage output and so long as a combo was more than 4 or 5 hits, happy trigger was the better special to use.

i like the sound of teleporting out of moves

I really only have one query and that’s whether or not you can cancel QW on hit into teleport… If so I already know a very mean BnB that should skyrocket his current max damage BnB by at least 200K.

And guys, the LV3 super is actually pretty good. I use it all the time against wolverine, and other characters if I botch a QW for example (cancel it late, they always, always, always try to punish). No it’s not a great LV3 but it gets the job done.

That seems like a pretty big risk. If your opponent has meter, he most likely is able to cancel any punish attempt into something that doesn’t result in a physical hit. It’s not useless but I hope they make some changes to make it a bit better. Or just reduce the damage and make it a LV1.

pardon my ignorance but isn’t it instant startup? therefore bypassing any chance of them cancelling into a counter or projectile super if you do manage to catch their move in startup? off to the wiki

Yeah, it’s instant after the flash. So if the punish is already active, it’s probably guaranteed damage. But if the punish is in startup frames, it can be canceled during the hyper flash. So it’s very situational and as such, an easy way to waste three bars and get Deadpool killed.

well the way I look at it is either you can bitch about how much it sucks or find practical applications, I choose the latter, and I’m not psychic or anything but I highly doubt they’re going to change up his level 3s. With the DHC trick gone they might as well just remove cuttin’ time though, it is officially a worthless super outside of extremely random pre-flash hits point blank.
