Wow, I thought it was only super cancel. I got some testing to do then, hopefully that’ll be useful to keep people from mashing out of my cartwheels now.
ok. . . .lol there seems to be a miscommunication here. The cartwheel is special cancellable, but only halfway through in both UMVC3 and MVC3. The difference is that the cartwheel in UMVC3 is invincible for the half that is not special cancellable. So in theory we should never be out of range for a Hyper charging star again because we SHOULD be able to cartwheel for extra distance and avoid beam/projectile hypers then cancel into Hyper charging star to reach the opponent from full screen. Thats what I’ve been trying to say lol
Oh I just didn’t know there’s super AND special cancel properties for cartwheel. That’s all, but yea umvc3 cartwheel into HCS is gonna be very useful, better screen control.

Special cancel is when you can cancel the move with a regular charging star, for example, right? And super, with a Hyper charging star?
In Mvc3 I can cancel cartwheel only into a hyper. I was talking about how we can cross the opponent and attack in time, without the hyper… impossible right?
If he could cancel cartwheel into a special move would be awesome.

umvc3 footage of cap air xfactoring into a crossup ending with a otg ss into a hyper combo. nothing to cool but kind of cool. i also saw another video that when he otg ss into his lvl 3 and it was to slow to work.
So imma be trying out UMvC3 at NYCC, and Cap is probably gonna be on all of my teams, so yeah ill try out what i can. l’ll post my impressions here

Nice Cap combo. If anyone could find a way to cartwheel and counter in time, he gonna be awesome.
Honestly, nothing special there, that combo could be pulled off by any of us who have been playing cap since the release of mvc3. The only thing he did was use the otg SS which all of us will be using. This’ll be the staple cap combo until gimpy/ken come out with a bigger longer lasting bnb for cap when umvc3 drops.

he dropped out because there was too much hitstun. . . .ya see capcom added hitstun deterioration to caps shield in order to balance out all the buffs they gave him. So our combos will no longer have many shield slashes in them, they will mainly have normals. They are also going to be very short, so get used to ABC S j.H L Shield Slash S OTG Shield slash hyper charging star. … . cuz thats our new quick and easy bnb. . . :_(
Dacidbro did this Bnb but used Vergil Rapid Slash assist after the OTG Shield Slash then launched again to j.s (forget if he did couple hits before j.s) , OTG SS, Hyper Charging Star I believe. It was pretty nice. Seemed to do pretty good dmg too if I saw correctly.
o he also did two Charging Stars after the OTG SS then to Hyper Charging Star. I forget if this was with Vergil assist or just a Captain America solo combo.
