I think people said he felt faster, not sure if that transitioned to later builds or if it was ever confirmed. I was too busy getting wrecked to notice in the Evo build

The frame data won’t tell you much about if he got any faster in his movement speed. Captain America would be broken if his frames got faster because he has special moves that start up in 5 frames and a c.L that starts up in 4 frames. The only characters with 3 frame normals are Ammy’s s.L and Dark Phoenix’s c.L and there are definitely no special moves that start up in 3 frames. I’m not sure any character in the game has a 5 frame start up special move which would probably make Cap’s charging star the fastest starting special in the game.
You’ll just have to play the game when it comes out and compare if his movement got any faster or if his specials travel across the screen any faster after they activate. Captain America frame wise is one of the fastest characters in the game so you definitely won’t be able to tell just by reading.
Repulsor Spread for Iron Man is hella fast too. Forgot the frame data on that though, and you do make a point. And I guess that’s why they don’t give him rapid fire.

Yeah the main reason why he doesn’t have a rapid fire c.L is because his c.L has the same or more range than most character’s c.M’s. Taskmaster has a 5 frame rapid fire c.L but can still lose to one good Captain America c.L because of the one frame difference. Captain America has the only long ranged 4 frame low attack in the game. Everyone else’s 4 frames are standing/jumping attacks or short ranged low attacks (X-23 c.L/s.L Wolvie’s s.L)
Yeah Repulsor Spread is 1 frame start up but you have to follow it up from a repulsor blast which telegraphs it.

I’m really digging Ultimate Cap; it seems like they addressed a lot of his Vanilla issues, and have made a very solid character. Along with Nemesis and Rocket Racoon, the new Cap is making me hype for this game.

Im planning on beasting up IF as much as I can, it looks like he is going to be an uphill struggle but worth it. Similar to Cap I just love the way his moves hit. And I really didn’t want to give into Virgil but he just looks so slick. And top it off with the nice and basic Nova but I am still unsure of order… any suggestions?

Vergil looks best as an anchor since he can be used as a starter, but he doesn’t really need assists and he’s deadly with at least 3 bars.
Obviously I’m putting in work with Cap day one, but after him my brain almost hurts trying to figure out who else to go with. Cap is a pretty huge departure for me (someone you NEED projectiles for), but he’s a TON of fun, Hawkeye is effin awesome looking so far, but the more I see Nova the more I’m thinking of putting in the most work with him.
I’m looking for someone with movement that fits my playstyle (though Cap will now be a lil closer with the inv.cartwheel startup + double jump), and Nova’s movement looks pretty solid, but I won’t really know if it’s what I’m looking for until I have my hands on the stick on the 15th. I’m also entertaining the idea of putting in work with Jill and/or Chun again since they’re ‘nearly’ perfect movement wise for me. You guys might not know, but even though I haven’t fought a ton of matches (I think 500?) with her, she’s be far the most fun character in the game for me…just focussed on Cap so hard that everything else took a backseat while I bonded with America.

i hope there is some synergy between cap and dr. strange.
here’s some things i thought about after seeing strange.
excuse my noobiness or lack of cap knowledge. (and also mispelling of strange’s moves)
-spell of dishanti looks like it will dhc off of any hyper, since it tracks and hits otg.
-seven rings of ragador is a projectile counter hyper. so if someone throws out a random beam hyper, you could counter with hyper cs then dhc into 7rings. but would that be worth it? i would think just connecting with hcs then dhc into dishanti would give you more damage. unless there is a situation where a character can recover fast enough from a beam hyper to block the hcs.
which assist would cap benefit most from?
-the daggers look pretty useful, a tracking projectile. would be useful if it made cs safe, and it looks like it stays out long enough if you want to do cw tricks. good for getting in.
-eye of agomoto looks like the prefered assist since it hits 10 times, so it is a better pressure tool, i dont see it helping cap get in since its a stationary assist, but it can be used for zoning or pressure.
-bolts of bolthak is the slow two-beam assist that most of the cast can duck. i can see it as a great assist since its TWO beams that come out consecutively which allows cap more time to either get in or do cw tricks, but ducking it ruins it for me, and its not good overall. seems like very few ppl benefit from it. if anything it can stop someone from jumping since they have to duck it, therefore allowing cap to get in, but then it leaves him open to get hit by low attacks. i think of thors mighty spark when i think of this
Bolts will easily be the best assist for Captain. Captain already has a lot of tools for dealing with projectiles and once bolts gets on screen…the fact that they must crouch or basically can’t jump out of it is a BIG advantage. It’s a broken up block string so you can definitely create some funky cartwheel left/right mix ups into big damage off it also. Plus if they’re croching that gives you free j.S/j.d+H high/low cross up mix up. Using charging star to absorb projectiles plus bolts assist should get you in pretty free against some characters.
There’s no reason to DHC into 7 rings unless you absolutely have to. Like in a situation where hyper charging star whiffs but they’re still going to use a beam super to punish you. As long as you pass though their projectile super and hit them, just DHC into vishanti.
