He said that he picks Yun because he wants to show everyone what he’s like at his best, playing an offensive minded, high execution character. Which in another words meant that he picked Yun because he wants to be a Marn.
IMHO Daigo should have picked Fei Long. Fuudo knew very clearly what he was doing when he switched from Ryu to Fei Long.
Maybe not, those nerfs are not definitive and we don’t know yet how 2012’s gouki will be.

Thats not true, he actually ussually plays shoto or fireball/footsie/zoning games. That playstyle was ass in AE so he picked Yun. For the rest of his SF career he picked Ryu, Ken, some more Ryu, some MORE Ryu, lotsa Ryu, Akuma, and finally Yun. (talking about mains, in all games SF3 SFA ST SFIV etc.)
I would love to see him come to EVO 2012 with Evil Ryu. Especially with the changes E. Ryu is getting for the 2012 patch.

The only problem with that is that E.Ryu is the laziest, least inspired character design ever created in the modern era. I think they let the work experience kid come up with E.Ryu while the rest of the team worked on Yun/Yang.
Who cares if his design is “lazy” if he’s a good character?

Tbh, it actually is a factor for me. If I’m going to main a character that means spending hundreds of hours in training and I don’t want to have to look at such a lame character for all that time. It’s just Ryu with some red stink lines coming off him. Screw that.

But i’m happy Daigo is opening himself up to new characters. Akuma might not be a fit though. I say go Evil Ryu and Ryu.

he’s not - outside of dan and hakan and maybe t. hawk, evil ryu is the worst. he’s terrible. I also have no idea what they were thinking, they basically gave him the most “meh” things from both Ryu and Akuma and called it a day. The buffs in 2012 look pretty decent but he won’t be tearing it up. It’d be much smarter for Daigo to stick with Ken, or Akuma.
Also TC just to point out, you got the winning notes backwards on Ume and Nemo.

And is he a good character? Evil Ryu’s pretty much a low health Ryu with some Akuma tricks, is there a point in playing him when you can play Ryu or Akuma?
jump online sometime and find out for yourself. even i play akuma and he was my main in OG sf4 and i’ve never used him outside of the sf4 series. he has awesome combos and is fun to use. everyone uses him even if he’s not their main. and lol at being scared of more people using akuma, especially just because insert pro’s name here uses him. i guess since super and AE less people are using him because he’s more boring with every iteration but akuma is one of the most popular characters in this game. we should all be so concerned if more people play our special character, boo hoo.
