Umehara is considering Gouki as his new main

Lmaooooo. Sako’s Akuma is so Swagful.

LOL i have never see so many corner demon flip throw/palm mixups in my life.

Its true. Akuma is free for Yun.

Yeeeeah … no disrespect to Kazunoko, who’s better than I’ll ever be in my lifetime, but that list does seem rather … off kilter. Especially since it’s consensus that Sagat and Fei hold a slight advantage (5.5) in their matchups against Yun. Yun definitely doesn’t go 6-4 against either of them, at any rate.

akuma is too good to go 8-2 vs anyone. 8-2 is bullshit

Yeah, for some reason that Kazunoko’s opinion on Akumas matchup againts Yun makes me wanna see him get destroyed by Daigo and think hard about it again lol D:

Word. It’s a 7/3 in all likelihood, but 8/2 is absurd. The set was close when Daigo played Kazunoko.

His Akuma is gonna be crazy good. Now that he has air fireballs, think how unmatched his footsies will be!

Also, I forgot who said it but I remember someone saying, once the Hong Kong characters get their nerfs, then Akuma won’t really have any bad match-ups. Thoughts on that?

Yun’s nerf won’t mean much against Akuma, he still get stunned in 2 combos and all Yun’s tools are there.

But the thing is, Akuma got nerfed along with the top tiers. And all the weaker characters got boosted. It’s too early to speculate about matchups.

Even if he had no bad matchups (which won’t happen), he might end up having trouble finding favorable matchup, since all his 6-4s (like, Gief) and 5-5s basically got boosted while he got nerfs.

Akuma will be bs, as always xD But at least i can keep my down charge now
@Ddr4gz0r Ma vaia’ :stuck_out_tongue:
Bisogna rigiocare cmq

Sup man! How did you do in the States? I could really use some Rog, boy I get destroyed with jabs and overheads alone D:

Yeah the charge thing sucks lol, can’t wait for Dictator to just block my palms and then reversal like crazy lol.

Haha Sako. Awesome textbook Balrog smashery.

Christ its bad for Rog once he gets knocked down. Sometimes I feel bad for him and then I remember his ridiculous damage and stun output on Akuma and those fucking jabs and I laugh my guts out at his systematic destruction.

Palm and throw nerf in AE 2012 directly helps Balrog though. Oh and he has buffs too. Neat.

Urgh.

Not really Gamogo. Rog wakes up 2 frames slower than most of the cast plus he has an 8 frame reversal. Instead of using f.throw dash, cr.mp, hk demonflip you can use the original dash x2 setup. Palm does suck though since hell be able to keep his charge.

Hahahaha “Sako’s Akuma is so Swagful” is, word for word (like “pound for pound”), one of the best sentences I can remember reading on SRK.

Reasons, in ascending order of importance:

  1. It’s about Sako
  2. It’s about Akuma
  3. It’s about Sako playing as Akuma (and this fact is established with the first two words of the sentence)
  4. It’s about Sako beasting with Akuma
  5. It uses the word “swagful,” which I’ve never heard before (I only first heard “swag” like a year ago)
  6. The word “swagful” is CAPITALIZED

Agree. I fully acknowledge I haven’t played Yuns even close to the quality of Japan’s best, but I’ve played some Yuns that have had success in America and while occasionally frustrating, I found it hard to believe it was even any worse than 6-4, much less a fucking 8-2. It’s possible that the influence of Tokido, who is clearly extremely intimidated by Yun and even more so by Daigo, has something to do with Kazunoko’s opinion. It’s also possible Yun is a counter to Tokido’s particular play style - this would make sense as Tokido is mostly known for oki and frame traps/doing damage once he’s “in there” as well as not utilizing anti-air, and pressing too many buttons up close and a weak anti-air game are the surest ways to get fucked up by the twins in my experience. His loud comments about how Akuma gets owned by Yun as well as videos of him actually getting owned by Yun are the main reason why most people think it’s so bad. I should check out some vids of Eita vs. Yun.

Oh god damn it. I’m going to admit that, with most of my experience playing as charge characters taking place against the CPU of SNES SF2 Turbo, I’d never thought about overheads forcing a character to lose down charge before reading this post. So, I’m pissed about realizing this new aspect of the nerf, and I’m slightly annoyed that I never really thought about that before (all I really think about re: charge is whether I see the character walk forward/stand up or not).

Down-backers now get to down-back against Akuma all day. Time for jumping normals.

Catch is, Akuma’s damage output on crouchers is kinda weak. Flip dive kick forces stand, but that can be blocked low. Its for this reason that I feel Akuma’s ability to FADC into fs.hk (it forces stand and allows continued combos) from a fireball ala vanilla (reliably) would be a reasonable buff.

It burns meter, it does (less) damage and it scales heavily, but it gives us some options on crouching opponents. Right now we can lk, lp, mp xx ex ball/ex tatsu. Not much damage and Capcom saw fit to goof up our EX tatsu in AE so a return of FADC fs.hk combos would be appreciated.

Wanna give us a reasonable buff? Give us a workable fs.hk we can combo into if you wanna kill its damage and make it retarded on block. Throw us a bone here.

Hp redball dmg + stun too, please! (140 dmg / 150 stun? - remember FADC invokes massive dmg scaling. That shit wouldn’t be overpowered and it makes us blast meter.)

c.hk stun to 150 too!

Don’t worry, if Capcom stays consistent we’ll get everything back plus more in 2013!

Look at us making sense like a pair of fools.

Someone in the akuma forums said Daigo spoke with ono about akuma’s changes. Any verification or update on that?

Uh, what? You mean in these boards?

Yup. In the 2012 discussion thread, just when first video’s if his Akuma were getting out and Seth responded to the Petition on Capcom-Unity.
I was wondering whether it was true or false. If true, I wonder what he said…
