I don’t see it dying anytime soon. Also, even if they are developing SF5 now, it’s in the early stages. That means some of the employees have nothing to do. So Ultra is pretty much just utilizing the assets they have. Might as well make them work on something when they’re in the office.
Just think of Ultra as a GOTY edition and move on =)
To be honest, I don’t believe it will be as profitable to them or as cheap as you might think. It’s not just the devs you have to pay. You’ve got project leads, managers, paying the bills, rent. That shit is expensive, yo.
@d3v, because you make complete sense and he can’t argue with facts so he throws insults at you to make his point seem valid…I think…I forget how these trolls work at times…
Mostly in how you think you’re the only one who does.
You don’t, by the way, kind of was indicated in where you tried to claim games cost shitloads of money to do every day things.
They prove that Capcom has developed the capability of easily tweaking moves.
In the game Half-Life 2, whenever the dev wanted to put particles in the game (an artist’s job), they had to get a programmer to do it, who would follow an artist’s instructions. This was tedious and wasteful. It was fixed in Ep 2 when they just programmed a particle engine so the artist could do it himself. Capcom made a lot of moves for their characters and bothered to animate them using the tools they designed. error1 doesn’t have access to these tools. That why his work looks homemade.
It is obscure because they aren’t as popular. The only time I’ve even seen Epic Games was UT3 and Gears of War. Compared to CoD those titles are really obscure. And if you have a hard time understanding why CoD is more relevant then I’ll explain it for you. Activision and CoD games are known for really bad business practices. CAPCOM is starting to adopt the same title in a different genre. It is more sensible to compare game companies of different genres that have community disdain than games with absolutely nothing in common. Personally I’d rather compare fighters but to each his own.
I don’t recall AE ever having Loketests. Ever. It needed one even if it was a separate loketest for the console exclusives. But I highly doubt it would have had one and no one complained about Yun.
AE is worth 40 dollars you bought it on sale for 10; it doesn’t change it’s initial worth if you bought it down the line. I bought Tomb Raider for 13 dollars on a June sale. Does that mean it’s not worth the 60 retail? I’m seriously wondering if this is a troll or you’re just being headstrong about 15 dollars… Ok I’ll tell you what I’ll start a kickstarter page to get you 5 dollars and you can spend 10 to upgrade. I’ll call the page “Help Buy Obscure Guy USF4 Because He is Really Self Absorbed and Does Not Think That New Characters and Modes Are Not Worth 15 Dollars But in Fact 10 Dollars- 5 Dollar Fund”. HBOGUSF4BHiRSAaDNTTNCaMANWFDBiFT-5DF for short :).<— Would totally make a legit password btw
iD created Doom, of which the first one is roughly as popular as each of the recent CoDs (probably more so, if you’re going by other metrics like media coverage), it’s also a more important game in video game history. You’re seriously ignorant if you’re calling one of the most popular games of all time obscure.
AE had tests. I remember people bitching that Guile didn’t have meter build with his sonic boom during it, which was ridiculous.
Again, stop talking about me. The game’s worth has nothing to do with me.
il be still using traning stage all the way till the game dies out… i bet you any money they will be releasing an arcade version for this then arcade version 2015 just a way of capcom making more money since they ARE using recycled material
Capcom made a bunch of moves and was able to polish the animation knowing full well Abel was never going to have a dozen ultras. Some of the moves aren’t polished on the whole but sections of them are. If it was difficult to tweak animation then this wouldn’t have happened.
The first thing you do while developing a game is create a development environment. Capcom has already gone through the process so that bugged moves can be fixed easily.
I don’t even care about this retarded argument because its worth $15 to you if its worth $15 to you, but if you haven’t heard of iD when they practically invented the FPS genre…
Dude I hate CoD and I can tell you that you’re exaggerating. Doom has a far bigger old school gamer/ cult following.
But larger media coverage? No. I think that spiked the second MW2 included a mission where you shot civilians and garnered huge amounts of media infamy. UT3 isn’t even relevant, in fact neither of the games are. I’ve said that both games are obscure in the sense that they have NOTHING to do with SF4 and at least Activision and Treyarch are known for bad practices and overpricing (Treyarch to a lesser extent for malpractice). Which is the community perception that Capcom has gained after the SFxT fiasco.
Obviously the game’s worth has nothing to do with you. The prices are already set. But some of the claims you make are down right untrue. And you make the discussion about you the second you state that “I don’t think it’s worth 15…I paid 10 dollars for AE”.
EVEN FUNNIER I looked up the DLC list for Gears of war is 15 USD for 4 maps 1 skin is the common trend. Devs? Epic Games one of the developers you listed as “real”. Real devs more like… unreal devs.
And how am I ignorant for not knowing developers of a 20 year shooter old game? Not even for not knowing the the game but the devs xD. That’s like me calling you ignorant for not knowing the developers of Streets of Rage or Ketsui Jizuna Jigoku Tachi. I’m done lol. I’ve heard people say reasonable things like it looks lazy to port many assets but never have I heard that argument. “This game sucks because developers FROM A DIFFERENT TIME and genre released free content.”
As for Doom not having the Media coverage of COD? LOLOL. If you were aware of media coverage at ANY point in the post columbine massacre media splurge you’d know it recieved waaaaaaaay more coverage than COD (none of it positive either)
