Ken doesn’t really need that much, and I’m against nerfing anything that isn’t broken. I’d rather they make the lower tiers better than make the top tiers shittier (i.e. Capcom’s usual rebalancing tactic)
Maybe I’m the only one, but I’d love to see them remove some of the dumb 1f links in this game. I went back and played Vanilla after the fact, and it was nice not have to sit in training mode and work out the timing to combos that were day 1 basic in SF2. Plus it’d probably help make the game less of a jab fest too.
I understand wanting the input shortcuts fixed, but I don’t get the desire for tighter reversal windows. Unless you made the reversal window really small I doubt it would affect mashed DPs through blockstrings (because autoblock is still there), and making reversal windows really small seems a way to punish people with average timing while not adding much (or anything) to strategic depth. In the end it doesn’t seem that different from saying “I wish links were tighter”.
I just think reversals should be well timed and strategically used rather than how it is now, where u can mash continuously and it comes out. It doesn’t have to be near impossible to do, or 1f or something like that, but it should require timing and commitment IMO.
GUYS. The 5th Character is obviously Shin Long. He’s the guy you’ve gotta beat if you want to stand a chance. But all jokes aside I think Capcom might throw him in there as a throw back to an old joke. I also feel like if they were to make Shin Long into a character he’d be some sorta anti shoto.
So is there a good compilation of what little information we DO have for this new character? I honestly dont remember a lot of what has been said about it. It’s someone who’s never been in a fighting game right? Or has never been a FIGHTER, in a fighting game? and is not related to SF or something right?
Mashing DP is very much present in high level play and it’s something you have to consider on offense, watch any high level japanese play you will see them baiting reversals constantly. I’m not familiar with previous SF games but I don’t think it was this much present in older games.
At least in older games you wouldn’t lose 2/3 of your life for missing a combo, correct me if i’m wrong.
Ok
The new character is not “new”… This character already exists and has existed for many many years.
This character IS related to street fighter
They have never been in a street fighter game or ANY fighter for that matter.
USF4 will be this character’s fighting game debut
And finally
This final character will feel like a “natural fit” to the SF roster.
So it’s not haggar
nobody from marvel, 3rd strike, alpha or any other fighter for that matter.
it’s not Asura
what options are there? only one as far as I can tell
it’s a no brainer
If you have a speculation then spill it. Dont be like Yagami and be all “I know who it is but i just cant tell you lol” so that way you can go “OH SEE! SEE! I WAS RIGHT I KNEW WHO IT WAS ALL ALONG!”. Nobody will care about your unannounced guess being supposedly correct. We’re all trying to figure it out. Btw there are two no brainers. Goutetsu and Go Hibiki.
Edit: im in a really pissed off mood today. I dont have the tolerance for people playing around or stupid shit. I know this probably came off as hostile the way i worded it but i dont care and i dont feel like rewording it.
Im hoping deep down inside they go the Super Turbo route and just throw a bunch of spaghetti at the wall and theres a ton of really fun horrible things in the game that every character has and can get stuck with. The 4 series is boring, they need to shake things up.
They added the Spider Queen Juri Han into the game so im all stocked up on creativity IMO.
Though i have actually seen a sizeable about of people hoping for the fabled “Karate Clown” that Seth Killian brought up in an interview once. He was scrapped during new character development, and was crudely drawn by seth on a napkin lol
Well I didnt actually apologize so dont feel special yet. It was more of a disclaimer.
Im just saying you acting like a little school girl who has a super secret piece of gossip doesnt help anybody figure out who it will be. It just makes you look like a retard.
Secondly, ask anybody who knows their SF lore, and the 5th character prediction criteria. They will tell you either Goutetsu or Go Hibiki. Another theory is Gouken’s daughter(I think her name is Sho? I forget).
@XthAtGAm3RGuYX which was pretty much and ordeal to spell’ I can agree. It is getting pretty tiring and annoying about all these people who claim something and act as if they are high and mighty. Plus with little posts on their scheme, it is not as if they are a highly valued member who gets special treatment thpught that may not be strictly true. Yeah, attention seekers…
I know all about CAPCOMs new project.
It is called ‘Residents Of That One Mega Street: May It Cry’.
Woops I lied.
Only 1 level of Ultra. You need to build a full bar before use however this bar is 20% faster to build. Ultras will only ever do as much damage as the difference between your health and the opponent’s health up to the maximum damage of the Ultra but will always cause at least a percentage of the maximum potential damage of the Ultra depending on the type of Ultra it is (combo/setup Ultras will always deal let’s say 40% of maximum whereas grab or harder to land Ultras would always deal at least 60% of maximum).
Let’s say your combo Ultra does 400 damage raw. You’re at 500 life and your opponent is at 1000. Your Ultra will do 400 damage here bringing him down to 600. However, let’s say you’re at 500 life and your opponent is at 800. Your Ultra in this circumstance will hit him for 300, bringing him down to 500 life, matching you. Now let’s say your opponent is at 400 life whilst you’re still at 500. Your Ultra in this circumstance will max out at 160 damage, 40% of the maximum potential damage of the Ultra, bringing him down to 240 life.
In this scenario, Ultras would never be scaled as part of a combo.
The result is less of an advantage for the losing player because the Ultra will never hit the winning player for ridiculous, round winning sums of damage but more of an advantage for players working these Ultras into combos. Suddenly those longer combos are worth doing.
