Ultra Street Fighter 4 | General Lounge

While it’s still jacked up and pretzel motions are STUPID (period.) there is a handy short cut. Basically do an “L” shape starting in the corner. It’s a lot easier on a square gate stick because you just hold down and go right - left - up while along the gate edges.

Except it doesnt if its implemented well.

SFxT 2012 rolls - abomination that never shouldve made it in a fighting game
SFxT 2013 rolls - with a bit of extra tweaking it is pretty much perfect

That said I honestly just dont see tech rolls in SF4… it just doesnt fit into this game at all

Yep.

It’s like balrog’s headbutt into ultra. If you do it by moving the stick downback-upforward you will lose your charge. So you must do downback-upback, back, forward, back, forward PPP and then you will execute it.

downback-upback is the “shortcut” to diagonals with charge.

SRK short cut is the worst thing ever , i dont have perfect execution but man … everytime i have super with ken i have to waste a bar in EX move so that it dosnt come out randomly when i try to SRK from crouching position , just make it not working for ken or tweaking it so the super dont come out

I play on a stock 360 pad.

Yeah.

How many frames is the window for DPs again in this game. I’m asking because I recall MikeZ coming up with a formula to figure out how many frames a move should have as it’s window (basically 4 frames for every direction adjacent to each other, plus an additional 4 for non adjacent directions, e.g. f to d, then 2 extra frames for the attack input), and I’d like to compare it to that.

I hope Capcom brings back the Championship mode which was rly cool imo for USF4.

So there will be no character reveal at TGS. What a shame, was really hoping for this but I suppose we must bide our time. As long as he is from outer space then all is good.

He MUST be from outer space.

Isn’t it a 1 or 2 frame link? And try negative edge it helped me until I got used to the timing normally.

@Dex_Sama They don’t have tech rolls in SFxT; it’s just rolls/recovery rolls.Tech rolls are like 3rd strike or alpha where as soon as you hit the ground instead of quick rising in place you rolled slightly backwards. I think he’s just saying they could be like Alpha where you’d still have meaties and other set ups just ones for if they tech roll or if they just stayed there not rolling like SFxT. Obviously it’s just baseless speculation, but at this point there’s nothing to do.

[cough, cough]

[EDIT]: Nope, this is definitely on topic. This is in the “Ultra Street Fighter 4!” thread, and this post is related to USF4. Sorry to spoil your anal-retentive happy doki fun time, but you can’t argue with me. Those are facts.

I swear every Internet forum out there has a character like Eternal on it.

Maybe if this forum gave me a way to delete this comment like I tried doing when I found the ‘5th character’ thread, and went to copypasta it there, we wouldn’t have ALL THIS FUCKING CHAOS RUINING YOUR PRECIOUS LITTLE ORDERLY WORLD, ARRRRGH!!

It’s off topic because it’s a confirmed fake called “Hyper Street Fighter 4” that was “leaked” right before EVO.

i’m pretty sure it’s 5 frames still. has been like that since vanilla sf4.

i really hope that’s not a fake. would have been awesome.

It’s on topic because it was regarding the subject we’re discussing here, like if I said, ‘WHAT IF Mega Mayne is gonna be the 5th character in this game?’ or ‘I HOPE WE GON GET A SUPAH KAWAII MODE WHERE WE GET TO DRESS UP SAKURA, IBUKI, AND KARIN FOR SCHOOL, AND GO ONTO CRAAAZY SCHOOL HIJINKS LIKE IN ETERNAL’S FAVORITE REPULSIVE FAGGY MOE ANIME, DESUDESUDESUDESU!’ Those would both be relevant to this game, so …

END OF DISCUSSION/THREAD LOCKED/ETERNAL 1 DAY SUSPENSION FOR ARGUING WITH ME AND MY INFALLIBLE LOGIC.

Sadly it is a confirmed fake, that said it WOULD be awesome. I’d love for Alex to get a chance to come back in an official SF game. It’s kind of weird that THE MAIN CHARACTER of SF3 has barely been seen outside of that game. I mean, at least for Alex they wouldn’t have to make everyone forget that at the time SF4 takes place he would be like… 11 (like they glossed over for Yun/Yang/Ibuki/Elena/Makoto who are all teenagers in 1999 when 3S takes place but somehow are ALSO teenagers in 1993-95 when SF4 takes place. Between SF4 and SF3 only Akuma, Ryu, and Ken age. Everyone else apparently has access to the fountain of youth.

Already flagged for abuse? FOR THAT? Wow, you are some feeble-minded little cunts… O_o

^Now they are just doing it to piss you off lmao

I would LOVE it if they added in online training mode, that’d be great, also would be nice if they improved the netcode but it’s capcom so I don’t see that happening lol.

I’ll agree that when it comes to links, FADC combos, and things of that nature of when to push a button, or plink to keep a combo going (I’m only guessing that’s the stuff you’re talking about when you say ‘when it comes to the stuff that matters’) is where the difficulty shines in this game. And that’s a big reason why I enjoy SF4. It’s the ease/shortcut/leniency of the stick motions the game allows is what I personally don’t like. Also the window of doing them mixed with rapid button presses i.e. SRK motion on wake up then pushing ‘x’ button a bunch of times to get an air tight spring, or reversing a non air tight link.

I just personally don’t like when games are dumbed down in areas where they wern’t before. But at the same time. I know Capcom just wants the casual and very casual players to be able to bust out special moves without really having to do precise motions and within a small window… Is what it is, but I don’t like it ^-^

EDIT: And just to add. I think being able to time reversals is a skill that matters too. And I don’t really like that it’s something that’s pretty much given to everyone on a sliver platter. But then that goes back to Capcom helping the casuals so people can have an automatic chance to escape some situations.

What does everyone think about those possible Ken buffs, not to mention the current top tier getting " slightly nerfed" on top of that. Where will Ken be considering he’s already like B/ B+. Also let’s throw in a random buff… What if they made his Ex hadoken ( I wish) do knockdown where would he be on Ultra?

But that goes back to the problem I mentioned. The initial barrier is low but the actual game is high execution due to how Capcom added arbitrary execution barriers. If we were to graph the actual curve, I’d imagine IV would have a very exponential curve while 3S would be a more gradual one

I wish, for this final version, we could tighten up inputs and lower the reversal window a bit. Lets face it; the casuals Capcom is trying to sell the game to have likely long since either stopped playing or have leveled up to the point to where the shortcuts are more of a hindrance than a help.
