Tokido clearly worked hard for that 2nd place , he didnt play like he used to in the tournaments pre evos , he was crazy solid , but Xian was just above , even if infiltration made it he wouldnt take it , he was under performing a bit compared to his last evo win , thats how i felt at least , or maybe everyone catched up , not sure
New Ayano interview from this month’s issue of Famitsu. He talks about the transfer of new characters from SFxT to SF4 & system changes.
And another interview featuring MATT DAHLGREN AND PETER ROSAS:
I’m not gonna lie if I see someone quickroll after being thrown in USF4. I’m gonna quit SF4, otherwise I might suffer a heart attack from Excess Hype Syndrome. =(
quick rolls won’t be that bad. That means your opponent will now have to condition you into an unblockable or vortex.
^ please no rolls, keep them in sfxt. if rolls would turn out halfway effective, the complete game would change too much. imo too risky - at this point of time - that this will not turn out well.
edit: same for variable wake up timing…
Just get rid of unblockables and fix some antiair specials to actually work and there you go.
I’m not trying to be a dick (even though it will probably come off this way), but I’m 99% sure removing unblockables won’t be some fast and easy fix like most of you seem to think. The way the engine in general handles pushboxes makes it difficult to remove unblockables without other problems arising like in SFXT (Super ambiguous crossups worse than in SF4). They will most likely have to change something deep rooted in the engine (aka a shit ton of work) along with a lot of bug testing to make sure it works properly without messing other things up.
I meant like 3rd strike rolls not SFxT lol.
System change: You can unban Oni now.
Not going to happen, sorry.
I’m guessing capcom will add tech rolls and call it a day. It nerfs vortex and lessens unblockables…
If they do I’ll be so mad.
Grapplers R.I.P, my setups -.- .
Such a change will to be honest nerf also midtier chars, unless they get huge buffs elsewhere.
Also, how many characters are really vortex heavy in this game?

don’t be mad if they do. we have like a month to see the changes…
Mmmm let’s see: Ibuki, I belive Cammy,C.Viper (íf you can call that a vortex), Sakura also has a vortex like thing, but she doesn’t relly on it completly, El Fuerte (dunno if that’s considered a vortex), Dalshim also has his teleport mixups but I don’t think that’s considered a vortex, most (if not all) the Grapplers, Abel, Seth… I’m sure I leave someone
it wouldn’t hurt the vortex game that much. You’d have to learn how to condition your opponents not to roll. If its like sfxt its pretty much free damage when you punish a roll.
SFxT rolls wouldn’t fit well in SF4 I feel. But immediately rolling slightly backwards off of a throw would be nice to see. Really though I just want better wake up options for my characters in general xD
Well nerf on vortexes would surely help my character some. And yep you left Akuma.
But I’m pretty sure El Fuerte may be legit simply cause of the fact I find myself shouting at the TV: “GET DA FUQ OFF MEEEE!!!”
Tech rolls aren’t gonna happen [He said all knowingly…]. In a recent interview (front page SRK), Combofiend mentioned that he feels knockdowns are a huge part of SF, and SF4 characters already have more tools than ever to counteract wakeup pressure. He also said they weren’t currently looking at wake-up timing to address vortexes. Seems about as close to a no as we can expect at this stage.
I seriously think that vortexes are going to be addressed on a character by character basis rather than by adding tech rolls or whatever. Again, look at the Ibuki changes; there would be no need to make those changes if you were going to be able to tech roll away from her setups.
