They’re adding something to the game. I wouldn’t mind having an alpha counter though. It wouldn’t be broken but i think in this game, they should make it so it resets the entire situation unlike in sfxt where you can start a mix up off of a counter.
I already asked in another thread, if we really need an own system mechanic to break offensive pressure on top of invincible reversals FADC. I think not…
I don´t want to see a LVL 9 Turn Punch of Balrog getting beaten by a parry lol. As much as I like the parry system, it would make the life harder for characters, who heavily rely on pressure through their special moves(Dash Punch, Scissor Kick, Sumo Headbutts). And it is also a bit too late for system changes.
Lol honda relying on headbutts for pressure. This character needs ex headbutt to be projectile invincible, or have a shot of armor. With the j.mp buff, a damage increase on a couple of normals, and making ex ochio worth it, I believe he’ll be able to hold his own against the cast.
Like I mentioned above, I would like them to rework the juggle properties of the focus attack.
1: Wallbounce on AA lvl.3 Focus.
2: JP1 on all focus attacks.
3: CH AA lvl.1 Focus causing float (and still having a really floaty knockdown state).
4: AA lvl.2 FA not raising the Juggle Counter (so you could do something like AA lvl.3 FA, lvl.2 FA, c.LP reset)
From what I can tell, this wouldn’t effect the combo game a lot. There’s only two things I can think of where it will matter in normally used combos:
1: Zangief gets a more powerful, cheaper followup to Lariat FADC (lvl.2 EX Focus).
2: Bison might be able to do Psycho Crusher xx lvl.1 FA, Dash U1.
But would these things really be negative changes?
No-no, remember the input for Ultras are all different. So if you had 100% you could use U1 and It’d only use half you meter giving you access to U2 as well but at damage cut.
Think of it as each Ultra needs 50% to pull off
But a full metered Ultra will do its max damage.

I’m the kinda guy that likes to pressure wake-ups,(so yeah I eat DPs occasionally) But it is bad enough using Chun worrying about a reversal and trying to get some offense going AND worry about a free roll out. MAYBE if it took meter to do, then I suppose I can deal with it - since you are getting penalized for using the Get out of Jail free card.
I just hate 1-frame link BnB’s, I honestly feel like they should have something like P4a where if you hold a button it’ll input it repeatably for 3 frames. That way pad users such as myself could have an easier time. Of course they’d probably have to adjust a few things.
I’m a pad user and technically never drop 2 frame links, and hit 1 frame links with around 70% success rate with my mains, what you are suggesting would make 1 frame links technically 3 frame links which would make them [Guile] HELLA EASY! [/Guile]
